  • Hi Everyone,

I wondered if you would mind me joining your thread as I am in real need of some support at the moment.

I have been a typical yoyo dieter for the last 20 years and tried every diet going. After my dd was born 6 years ago I finally realised I had to do something and lost 4 stone and have managed to maintain my goal weight since (give or take half a stone).

However over the last 6 months the pounds have crept on and for some reason I totally lost it over Christmas and just cannot get motivated to get back on to a healthy eating plan.

The main reason I need your support is because in 7 weeks time I will reach the big 40 and I would so love to get rid of this extra stone I am lugging around.

I was so good all day today until my dd went to bed and then I became like something possessed in the kitchen !!

    Sorry for rambling on x

Welcome to our lovely thread. As you've probably noticed, we ramble on a bit too :rotfl:and go totally off topic. Been a bad day here too, I just can't get motivated in this cold weather. But now that the thaw has started, i'll try my best. (again)

pebbles your nightime munchies may have something to do with you feeling starved, deprived during the day, the mind plays funny tricks, if it thinks it is doing well it needs rewarding, if it feels like it is missing out it needs more food, the trick is to snack eat well all day long and to have foods you love, enjoy, want to eat, look forward to your meals, surround yourself with good healthy wholesome filling stuff and you can beat the evening food monsters:D

  • hi pebbles! goood luck with your journey.

rofling at bb's haiku. I stayed on plan apart from the exercise - i needed to visit a friend who is having a hard time. And my mum bought me a chocolate mint fudge cake so i tried that but ended up binning it after a couple of mouthfuls because it wasn't nice enough to justify eating. I feel really proud about that! NExt step today is that I've got a box of flake moments that were a birthday gift. I am stating here and now that I may only eat half of it tonight!(stating things on here and then having to confess meakes me think before I do things.

Todays menu is cereal and juice for breakfast, rice and an apple for lunch and orange chicken stirfry for tea. First time using my new wok burner so it's possilbe I will have no eyebrows tomorrow.

Welcome Pebbles! :D Good luck with your weight loss, well done with losing the 4 stone before and noticing that it's been creeping up a little bit before any more goes back on :) You'll be able to see off that 1 stone no problem!

Monthly weigh in result (not for chart pls :)):
I'm pleased with my result, overall weight is up as expected, but only 1kg is body fat gain. Not bad for a relaxed month inc Christmas ;). I may not need to lose all of that because I was at the very lowest of my 'maintain range' last time... however I'll aim for the full 1kg fat loss anyway and see how I feel next month :)

I'll be sticking to the 12.5% calorie deficit which gives me 1742 cals per day and I can eat well on that. Exercise 7-10 hours per week as normal. At that rate it should take just over a month. We'll see!

Fi your OH tattoo sound fantastic. Funnily enough OH were presents too. One was for our engagement, the other was birthday / Christmas.

Heatherberry as for cravings, if I get them REALLY bad I have one small piece of whatever it is and that way I don't go crazy either thinking about it or stuffing my face with it. Don't know if that's wise but I find it helps.

    Mazza you giggled :eek::eek::eek:

Hi Pebbles (my favourite Flintstones character )

KPC burning your eyebrows off doesn't count in weight loss - your just trying to be sneaky :rotfl:

I'm still trying to be good but it's TOTM so we'll see tomorrow morning...

I had the worst thought the other day. This time last year i handed in my dissertation, so ive been looking for a career for a whole year now, how depressive is that. If only i had applied for a few jobs that i saw whilst i was studying, i would probably be on a different boat by now, more a cruise ship than a tatty rowing boat that im in now :(

On another depressive thought, galaxys mistletoe kisses were half price at 25p so i bought 2! :(
