It may not seem like it right now but you WILL get through this.... I'm knew to this forum too and spent on my c/c when I was struck down with an illness. I TOTALLY understand but please as the others have mentioned you need to get to your doctor and contact the relevant companies for advice. I logged onto payplan today and I KNOW they can help you through this...
Read other posts, some owe as much as you if not more and they have a plan. Just like you'll have one too. And speak to your parents, ANYONE, you need to vent, get this out in the open and I promise, you'll feel 100000% times better.... PLEASE, and stay in touch all day every day. You've done the right thing today and I hope by receiving some response you're feeling slightly better, I know I did.
Sending you a big massive hug, and please act now, pick up the phone the help is out there...

hourami,
See today the 29th of May as the start of a new life for yourself.
One where you will sort out your debts. But also the first steps on the road to a new you. Starting to gain control of your life and your depression.
We all know how easy it is to say do this and do that. And the first step is always the hardest. And I will be truthful I can't imagine what it is like to owe the money you do. But think about it. It is only money.
They can't take away your dignity. Or the person you are inside.
I wish you lived close to me as I would be around in a jiffy to have a long heart to heart with you.
Being bank holiday weekend it is hard as most of the people you need to talk will not be at work.
Start to write a list of all you need to do tomorrow. Call in sick tomorrow and work your way through the list.
I wish you strength and courage to face this.
Please do let us know how you get on.
Take care.
Yours
CalleyHope for everything and expect nothing!!!

Thanks,
I am already seeing a doctor and have been given anti-depressents but they are not working, I have changed my medication recently so will see if that helps a little.
I have explained everyting clearly to the creditors but they just don't wanna know. I get no responses from them just more threating letters.
I live in central London so that is sort of average rent for that area, if I was to move out then it would be a LOT more believe me.
My parents know I owe some money but not this sort of scale.
I am worrying myself sick, I can't sleep at night, I am always shouting at people for no reason, it is hell.
I am really scared to declare bankruptcy, with court visits and such. I have tried calling Payplan but I get really nervous on the phone and start shaking and put the phone down.0 -
Think you can actually contact Payplan online. Please someone correct me if i am wrong. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

hourami, there are people here on MSE who came in with debts of over £100,000 and in worse position than you. I'm only saying this to reassure you that your situation is not so desperate that you have to take the ultimate way out!
Of course you are worried and see no way out, but there is, and all the wonderful people on MSE are even now rallying behind you to help you. Stay here and listen to the good advice that the experienced members have for you, and you will surely come out of this dark tunnel.
Best of luck, hourami

QBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Hourami, it looks as though you've already taken 2 very important big steps here.
1: You've got a written total of every penny you owe to every card/company (that's more than I've been able to get round to doing)
2: You've recognised that you have a serious problem and you've made a call for help.
I've been suffering from severe depression for 2 and a half years following a car accident. I lost my job, and there's days when I literally cannot leave the house. See your doctor, do not feel embarassed about seeking medical help. Anti-depressants CAN help you in the short term (but allow a few weeks for them to take effect). Ask about cognitive-behavioural therapy or counselling. Do whatever it takes to feel good about yourself again.
I'm tempted to agree with the bankruptcy route - it doesn't sound as if you've much to lose by taking that direction. But maybe there are others on here better qualified than me to comment.
And definitely talk to your parents. Maybe they would be willing to reduce your rent to help you through this difficult time.
Good luck xsome people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -

I understand about how you feel about speaking to someone and how ebarrassing you may feel about it, but for the sake of your health and for the people who care about you, pick up that phone and speak to them. They deal with this every day and they are absolutely great on the phone. The sooner you start, the sooner you will feel better. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I hope you dont mind me asking this but do you have a good relationship with your parents? Is it possible that you could confide in them and ask for their support? After their initial shock, surely they would be ready to help you? They are your parents and they would probably want to know how you are feeling rather than you do something silly. Give them a chance to help you. I am sure they would much rather that than the other thing you are talking about. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0
