Good to hear that you have taken the first step and it is a massive step, hats off. Keep the pecker up until Saturday, you'll be buzzing that you've spoken to Payplan. As they have told you ensure you have all your account numbers and outstanding balances to hand. If you havent and you have thrown them away get on the phone to the creditors and get the balances.
Good luck

Well, I have spoken to Payplan who were the nicest people in the world.
They played around with the figures and come up with a plan that will get accepted by my creditors as they are getting 25% of their money back.
I am over the moon, I am so happy.
She said it would take me 14 years on a DMP but if I payed less and went onto a IVA then it will all go away in 5 years time.
Thank you to everyone who helped me when I was so low, it really was the call that changed my life.0 -

Luckily it would seem you have no assets. You are actually in quite a good position. I would suggest given your current position, bankruptcy is the best solution here.
As a side point, don't blame yourself. The lenders have been completely irresponsible here and it's they whom should pick up the pieces. Do yourself a favour, go bankrupt.0 -

I thought about it but going to court, having a interview, freezing of bank accounts, name in paper etc etc were not very appealing to me.
It was too much hassle, the IVA is the best option I think.0 -

Good news indeed. Have you told your parents yet? Hourami,
I will admit that I thought you where she.
But I glad to here that things are on the way for you.
I wish you all the best.
And do keep us informed of how things go. And as another poster said why not do a check in everyday. It does help to keep you motivated. Why not post everday on the What have you spend today threads.
It also allows us to know that you are ok.
Take care.

Yes, those are the downsides of bankruptcy: a morning in court, talking to a court clerk; a chat with the OR, probably at home over the phone; only being able to keep one bank account for your wages to be paid into; name in a paper, which in my area is one published 60 miles away and not much read around here.
The upsides are that you are normally discharged in a year (rather than five) and you pay £475 rather than circa £24000.
We support you in your choice. Pleased that you took advice from Payplan. Delighted that you sound much more positive.0
