I don't do testing, I am rubbish at these things-sometimes it takes me ages to sort out one task. Or forget
and than I'm usually in trouble. Never mind. Xmas is coming :rotfl:.Can't wait, 4 days off, maybe 5! Boss hasn't decided yet whether I need to work on 24th or not.Hope not. Oh is at work as well, he can't take any holidays over Xmas other than BH, it's in contract, so there is no point for me to take days off either.
Glad your car is fixed, I would be panicky about the other car as well, what if something happens. We do go to Brighton every weekend from April to September but always take the train from London Bridge (live close to LB) and use network railcard and Martin's codes to buy cheap train tickets. It usually costs us around £17 return for 2, so cheaper than petrol I guess. Used to take Oh's company car but was stuck in traffic for nearly 2 hours every time so switched to train now-at least it's relaxing and fast.
Regarding sick pay I think companies don't need to pay anything for the first 72hours if you're sick, after that the SSP will kick in.I might be wrong though-but I think that was in my previous contract. I mean £50 is a joke surely it's not even enough for anything, not to mention when you need medicine and it costs you at least £7 for a prescription. Goverment is just taking the p...s.0 -
Thats a good price train ticket for 2! I agree at least you dont get stuck in traffic and you can relax.
I cant wait until xmas eve too! Normally the hotel shuts 24th at lunch then re opens on the 27th!!! But now they have changed everything and the hotel now shuts from 24th lunch until 2nd jan! Which is fab meaning nobody has to work on New Years Day, which we always used to argue about as nobody ever wanted to work it!
But now we have to use our own holiday to cover bank holidays including xmas day and boxing day! Takes the !!!!, we used to get paid and double pay if we worked on a bank holiday. Now normal pay if we work, although we was even some extra days holiday to cover the bank holidays but we didnt get that many extra days to cover every single BH. I hate my work i really do.
I picked up my car, looks great again but even better they have replaced my broken splitter which i broke! When i got a price for it when i broke it it was £180 for the tiny bit of plastic. Now i got it replaced for free! So thanks for hitting my car mr lorry driver you saved me £200!:D:D:D:D
Ive been thinking about my mm/c again and im sure my baby died when i had what we think was swine flu when i was 8 weeks. I had every sympton and a temp of 102 exactly on 8 weeks (i went through my fb profile as remembered writing i had that temp on my status) and it took me 2 weeks to feel completly better from it as i couldnt take anything as was pregnant. Another reason why i hate my job and work, there's so many germs at the hotel. I mean i walk into customers rooms after they have been in there all night windows shut up, i walk into all there germs. Theres always bin fulls of dirty tissues and flu tablets in there rooms.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Morning,
I'm up and ready to go to the gym, shame it's still closed. Well done on getting the car repaired and saving money, lorry driver did you a favour.
You might be right about MC, but if you've had the swine flu than it means you won't get it again, am I right? So next time the risk is less. Just thinking loudly, I might be very wrong. You know wherever you work, you are exposed to germs, I for example work with children, so catch everything they have, although the environment is really clean. It's just because you're around people,so you can't avoid it. I've had numerous ear infections, colds, tummy bugs this year-and the year is not over yet. I'm thinking about changing my job prior to having kids but the thing is I still want to work with children in a different position so I'll be exposed anyway. So stick to this job for time being as it is really really good money (37K!), any other position would mean a 10K paycut. I can't face that yet.
So today Oh is at work in the morning, I'm off to do an aerobic and a body pump class, than cooking and relaxing in the afternoon.I'll have a babysitting in the evening (an easy way to earn extra money and as I know lots of families I'm asked to do it once or twice a week), so the day'll be short.0 -
Morning kavics,
Thats what i thought if ive had swine flu surely i cant catch it again, but i googled it and you can as it mutats as it goes on!
Yeah your right germs are everywhere where people are, unaviodable unless i lock myself in my room!
Your up early for your body pumping class and aerobic's! Rather you than me, i think ive got a date with my bed until at least lunchtime! lol
Wow, you are on very good money indeed!
I popped out last night with my mum to Tesco & morrisons to get a couple of presents for my OH but in both shops they were out of stock what i wanted! So that was a waste of petrol but at least it got me out for a bit again.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Hi Maria, your sounding a lot brighter.
It might be a good idea to try and build your immune system up as much as possible, especially as you work with the general public, lots of healthy eating, maybe look into taking some multi vitamins etc.0 -
Morning miemie,
Yeah im feeling much better and feeling more postitive
Yeah my immune system is poor at the best of times, i do take multi-vitamins normally as im not great at eating enough fruit and veg but when i was pregnant had to stop the vitamins as it said not to take the on the pack so i was just taking folic acid. Next time i will definatley start taking the mum to be tablets as i know they have some vitamins in them aswell as folic acid.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Yes,def. take multivitamins. Saying that I'm rubbish at it, the cupboard is still full of all kind of tablets, unopened:) Also eat lots of fruits and veg, just try to sneak in everyday a little bit more and more.I'm obsessed with juicing when I don't have my 5 a day, not too obsessed of doing the washing up afterwards
. Still at home, class starts at 10.30.

Hi Maria,
I'm so sorry to hear about your sad news, its not a nice thing to go through and i know exactly how your feeling. It sounds like you are getting through it, however difficult it may be you need to stay positive, which you are doing.
Well done on being so organised with Christmas, i got back from holiday at 9am this morning and have not yet started my xmas shopping, the shops are gonna be rammo. I should've been organised like you.
Great news about your work being shut over xmas, just stupid that you have to use your own holiday on bank holiday dates.
If you need anything just drop me a PM chick.

Hi hayley,
Your back!Hope you had a lovely time on your hols!
Yeah, ive been through the worst. It was heartbreaking to find out at the scan, but everything happens for a reason. Our lil angel was only with us for 3 months in my tummy but will never be forget.:A:heart:
Im not that organised for christmas trust me! Ive still got presents to get, i wanted to get some today, but ive been passing some small clots/tissue which surgeon said i might even though i had the op to remove everything. So i didnt really want to be walking around.
Ive been thinking of treating myself today though to a new tv, ive wanted a nice LCD tv for some time now as my tv in my room is awul, anything green shows as black or brown and its huge!! Ive seen a nice samsung 32 inch £309.99 amazon.....but i kinda want it NOW!!!!! :rotfl:and the cheapest in shops is £350 from argos. I do have £40 argos vouchers so it would take the price down to the same as amazon but then id be wasting my vouchers when i wouldnt have to. I duno what to do atm. hmmmmMake £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Before doing anything, just wait and look around on the internet. Last year we bought a 32"one from Sainsbury's, it's a sony bravia, and paid £249-it was on Xmas sale-pre Xmas sale was £350. I think you better wait an another 2 weeks and grab a bargain, believe me the price will go down even more. Plus we got lots of Nectar points and used it to buy a wii game for him. Boys and their toys. This year he wants an Xbox-Not till he sells the Wii, I'm not paying for something again I have never used or will use.
Hope you're better, I'm off to the gym again, than do the weekly shopping with OH. I'm reading the Twilight saga like mad, started to call Oh a VAmpire-he kind of likes it,thinks I'm more into him than before:rotfl:.Which is kind of true;). Have a nice day everyone0
