Hello you lot
I've been mega distracted with work over the last few weeks, but some good things have been happening.
Five of them:
1. Got another essay submitted for my course and a good mark for the last essay as well.
2. Soup and scrambled eggs on toast for supper. Comfort food - lovely.
3. Managed to undo the rusted padlock on the allotment shed door without having to call in experts. Now I have no more excuses not to get started in earnest on the plot again. It's been very abandoned over the winter apart from occasionally picking the ends of various crops.
4. DS1 did a marathon load of washing up this morning.
5. I've found a good freebie online typing tutor (http://www.ratatype.com/) which I tried out for fun and discovered that my speeds are still pretty good (in my opinion) when I'm concentrating - I haven't practiced upping my speed in ages.
Sweet dreams

Quick pleasures for today (Friday, hoorah!)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Work came and went.
3) Bigger son went out for the evening and has not long got back.
4) Took borrowed items back to 2nd mother and gave her some eggs.
5) Smaller son and I went to Sainsburys then found some geocaches in the park in town.
6) Smaller son had football practise.
7) Watched the Last Leg.
8) Both sons sleeping and muttering to themselves!
9) In bed with 1 hwb and about to listen to the Now Show.0 -
* Piddled around most of today after marathon session of getting everything ready for tax accountant yesterday. DH delivered full manila envelope to his office this morning. Phew!
* Talked to Quoye....she has learned the word boring. I hate that word! If my kids ever used it I immediately found horrible horrendous housework for them. An instant cure and they never again uttered it in my presence. Quoye is only two and has learned this word at nursery. I'm interested to see how DD1 handles it in one so young. Too young for that nasty word! I love watching my brilliant daughter mother this child. It's always a pleasure.
* Red cheese enchiladas ordered from a local drive-in. Not great but good enough when still without a kitchen.
* I got out the present (I had ordered at half price online during after Christmas sales) to wrap for DD1's B-day last week. We leave Sunday to drive up there. DH already has plans as to where we will eat along the way. Mexican food of course. It's an addiction.
* We will take her out for a nice dinner with all family. Margaritas will be involved!! :j
Thinking of you PK and Mhags.
BoP proves you can't keep a good man down.
VJs excellent news about son's acceptances.
Waves to all the rest of you. :hello::hello::hello:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

PK hope you feel stronger after a good nights sleep
Some busybody has left an anonymous note on my car about parking in our road and seems to have singled me out and not my neighbours who are in the same situationMy neighbours have told me to ignore it but I struggle with anxiety and its worrying me, so I need to find some pleasures
Friday
1. its the weekend :j
2. did some tidying and washing up
3. put some of the washing away - I hate socking socks ! Should have just bought all the same colour then there would be no needThere always seems to be a random odd one- anyway, glad they are done and put away.
4. fancied a takeaway but instead had a variety of hot and spicy / southern fried chicken from freezer with skinny fries total cost around £1.20
5. dozed on the sofa for most of the evening woke up for the last leg

Almost bedtime .
Today I've been busy-ish
Went to supermarket ...all by myself ( sing along) now I've been to supermarket on my own many, many times but felt very aware of it today. Kept seeing things which I know OH liked and that I don't have to buy anymore l bought a $30 store gift card to put by for a later date.
Son put it all away for me
DD1 and I had a wander up to our wee towns family fun day...and it's seems I've won a hamper! To pick up on Monday! Yay! Free raffle! There was a pipe band playing...that always makes me cry but cried a bit more than usual.
We took Haggis out in my car for the first time. I've a hatch backed car so no room in the boot ( OH had big 4WD car with huge boot that Haggis just jumped in to. Mine is also only 2 doors so we had to move the passenger seat forward , get him in the back and DD1 sat with him. DS cycled and met us there, we walked in a huge parkland that goes from the next suburb to the next one again and back. It was a nice walk and longer than the local one I normally do ...even heard kookaburras.
Rain, rain and more rain ...had to run out and bring the washing in rather quickly! It's very needed and so good for the very dry gardens.
Made a chilli for tea and 2 portions are in freezer.
Emailed our oncologist. We will be donating $3800 to his research in OHs memory. We are amazed by our friends, family and OHs colleagues .generosity.
Have a lovely weekend0 -
Just a note to say a greeting to each of you has been sent, by way of a pebble chucked into the Irish Sea. So if you feel the sunshine & an odd sand between the toes feeling, happy weekend from me!0

1) I've just been up and cut the first half dozen succulent spears of asparagus from the bed in the garden.
2) My charity shop fleece is as warm as toast, needed it today as the wind here is 'enthusiastic' to say the least.
3) Alliums planted in the autumn are all up and growing on, love the grey green of their leaves and then when they've flowered love to leave the seed heads to dry so I can harvest them for winter displays.
4) Herb bed moved and relocated last year is all looking very verdant especially the chives.
5) Pots of mint on the patio are all well grown and being used on an almost daily basis, at this time of year fresh mint is a bonus.
6) peas growing on nicely in the poly tunnel, early crops much appreciated.
7) Rhubarb beginning to produce quantities now on the allotment.0 -
