Firth, as I'm sure you know, loss is not easy for them to process at this age. My son lost 5 different friends to drugs, and car wrecks his senior year. It was a horrible year for him too. I did what you are doing ... everything I could to love him and hang on to him. He is now 30 yrs with a college degree and a good job.
I know this is so rough for you. I think about you a lot and your dear son. (The younger one too) I know your heart aches for him. You are a fantastic mother and your love will see him though these rough years. Thoughts and prayers for you all.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Thoughts are with you Frith and bigger son.
1. Work happened and I got through it. Afternoon was hard but at least my hard work was noted.
2. DS2 cooked tea . Cottage pie and it was good and enough leftovers for lunch.
3. Admiring my flowers. They look and smell good.
4. Caught the bus to work and gave me time to read. Pleased I caught the bus as traffic was bad and bus is far less stressful.
5. DH no longer working in London. Thinking about all those involved in the attack in Westminster.0 -
Catch Up Pleasures
1. Internet is restored. It seems to be staying with us too.
2. Walking past gardens walking the ginger ninja, enjoying spring in the city.
3. The sight of three swans flying low towards a nearby reservoir.
4. The allotment robin following MrC as he dug over one of the allotment beds.
5. Good friends.
Frith - my son suffered losses of friends at the same age as your son. It is desperately hard for everyone. Thinking of you all x
Dreadful events at Westminster yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims.0 -
1) It's a windy day and I've just walked that hound and come back indoors.....a real pleasure!!!
2) Petals scattered on the ground under the blossom trees looking like wedding confetti in a church porch.
3) The first long tresses of early clematis are covered in white flowers, dropping over garden walls, climbing up through trees and hedges, so beautiful in the sunshine.
4) DD1 had second interview (in the form of a presentation to parents) for Head of 6th Form job today and it seemed to be well received by the interviewers, now we wait.
5) He Who Knows has just come back from the allotment with the last of the leeks and some more early rhubarb for us, nice!!!0 -

He's coming back as Cornsh Pastie ...wouldn't be the same without him and his snorkers...he'll be back!
A difficult 2 days for no other reasons than they were . But there were pleasures in amongst the awful.
Really nice dog walks. Haggis found 2 new to him tennis balls and insisted on carrying both at same time. Yesterday morning felt autumnal for the first time which was nice. Leaves are changing colour & falling.
I've felt more like cooking . Made fajitas on Wednesday and then chicken & veg pie last night.
So many nice cards & messages.
Went to library ( remembering my glasses) and just sat for half an hour looking through a couple of magazines.
An achievement was making a start on the mini mountain of paperwork . They all need Death Certificate which I won't get for a few weeks but thought I'd make a start and see what needs doing.
Bit of gardening /sweeping up (again!) / pruning in back garden.
It's dark until after 7am , our clocks go back in 2 weekends time ( UK this weekend)you will have lighter nights and we will be getting darker.0 -
He better had or we'll mount an expedition and drag him back on here!!! with Bopsies permission of course!0

1 DH had a hospital apt on his own as I was working but he had a lot of information to take in not all of it good, have to have serious investigations. More appointments ahead.
2 We are trying to help in the background, with diet maintained the stone off and changing various foods.
3 I am home just, travelled to work, then I travelled to DF, ambulance called this morning but he’s still home, pleasure is the carer is gold dust and seems wonderful, however DF has decided he doesn’t want food anymore today was 10th day but he his drinking. So a situation is brewing.
4 We are dieting but we do allow ourselves a break and after a very long and emotional day I caved and ordered in, I was going to get fish and chips but the shop is so popular I couldn’t get anywhere near it.
5 Home, it is very nice to be home, up again soon though hoping there may be some flexibility, it’s one of those companies where remote working is there as a written process and entirely there IT wise, but very frowned upon. Small minded.0
