  • Not much going on today. Watching old westerns and clean hair plus plenty of tea.
Mrs LW your post was extra good today. Enthusiastic wind! Brought a smile.
DD fingers and toes crossed for promotion. A new way to serve wine! Makes it special and fun I would imagine.
Feeling the sand between my toes.
I'll be glad to finally have a kitchen to batch cook in Skint. You made me think of what I'd be cooking.:)
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Evening all, busy day, busy day

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. Nice walk to the station, lots of springiness around
    2. Train delayed by nearly two hours. The reason is not a pleasure (suicide), but the staff were excellent and I got loads of work done
    3. I went into the office. I don't like it there as it is too (oppressively) quiet, but I have decided I need the focus of going. Walked through Regent's Park to get there which was lovely.
    4. Met OH and we went for a pint and then a meal in a Hungarian restaurant. It was lovely
    5. Saw DD in her showcase. Her west end debut.... ;)

    And today

    1. What a beautiful day
    2. Went to ask someone if they would sell our caravan for us, and they have bought it off us :T it goes tomorrow
    3. Nice, pottery at home day
4 DD came back for her Easter break (though she goes back before Easter)
5 had celebratory curry for tea

    Night night
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Quick pleasures for today as am sleepy.

    1) A lie in!

    2) Porridge for breakfast.

    3) Went to see the hens.

    4) Went to local National Trust and found several geocaches with only some complaining from sons.

    5) Had tea in the canteen.

    6) Earth Hour! Did what we do every year - candles, cup of tea made on the top of the wood burning stove and "footshrimps", a made up game.

    7) Just watched Casualty on iplayer.

Another day of heat ! Sigh! Come on autumn...chase summer away!

Glad to get up after a rubbish sleep ( too warm I think)

    Met friend for catch up.

Another big long dog walk , Haggis was a bit better getting in my car today.

Cleaned bathrooms and hoovered downstairs .

    Thinking bacon sandwiches for tea!

Waiting on DD2 calling me to say she's on her way home from work and Haggis and I shall meet her off train.

3 lovely emails to read when I got up this morning. Have replied to 2 . Other was a reply to the one I sent yesterday so doesn't need a quick response.

Grapes! In season, tasty and even better cheap! Lots of nice autumns fruits like plums and apples and pears in season. Ooooh and we picked a fig off the fig tree yesterday....think the possums have been eating the rest!

Not Mothers Day here until May but wishing all the mums / step mums / foster mums a lovely day .

Some for the past couple of days.

    1. Work was quiet on Thursday and managed to get stuff done.

    2. Took more books to the League of Friends shop. More decluttering done.

    3. Friday I spent time in the garden. Picked more daffodils - it makes it worth planting all the bulbs in the autumn.

    4. DS1 and girlfriend popped in briefly yesterday and took some of his stuff !! He moved out about 18 months ago. Girlfriend is feeling better than she was but still in pain.

    5. Good rugby match yesterday and we won comfortably. It doesn't happen often. It was good watching a home game at 3 on a Saturday afternoon. Have to wait til next season for the next one.

    6. A free drink for renewing our season tickets. Easier to do it there as have to show proof I'm a key worker to get a discount.

    7. Trains ran to time surprisingly as engineering works.

    8. Home and watched a Harry Potter film - DS2 at home. He had played rugby and was suffering. He hurt his lower back but physio had told him how to fix it.

    5 for yesterday,

Sunny spring weather and lots of blue sky.

Eldest hollow-legged one came for lunch, glad I made a big macaroni cheese.

Afternoon drive, car windows down, to home village.

Flowers on the grave and a 'chat' with DM.

Quiet evening and an early night.
  • 1) This golden day when I am actually warm!

    2) A peacock butterfly just out of hibernation gently waving his wings in the sunshine on the patio this morning.

    3) Homemade tomato soup, freezer diving produced a huge bag of last years tomatoes , would have been criminal NOT to make soup!

    4) A walk with Sue and Charlie retriever through the lanes and footpaths then down to the river, lovely!

    5) Bumble bees out and about in the warmth this morning, droning between the tubs of pansies in the garden and just lovely to see.
