    congratulations bop and bopette
after breakfast at my friend's we went to the office where i feel asleep at the desk lol. after lunch he took me to the hotel so now for my 5 all based round the hotel
    1) hotel very clean and modern but no tea making facilities (!) so 1 has to be my trusty travel kettle, tea bags, mug and coffee mate.
    2) and then a much needed sleep till about 5
    3) then a gorgeous shower
    4) then lying on the bed under the ceiling fan while reading my book (the little coffee shop of kabul)
    5) and dinner - no pancakes, but there was kottu roti http://www.infolanka.com/recipes/mess1/135.html so am counting the roti as pancakes :-)

Mhags, I hope when you look back across your posts you see what we see, such strong inspiration.

    • Pancakes, I love them makes me wonder why we don’t make them more, they make me reminisce to the “proper” Canadian pancakes we had in a little caf! in Vancouver wow they were an eye opener.:)
    • The loads of washing are overflowing, mats done and 1 clothes load done.:o
    • The Christmas leftovers all in one stew, it smells wonderful, all leftover veg and swede serenading the turkey and gravy, slowly cooking away at the mo.
    • DH phoned our caravan subscription and cancelled, saving us £50 as we only camp at steam fairs and a private site in Wales.:money:
    • Online banking to send the monthly bills out phew. And cause for celebration not only they have been paid but we have no arrears anywhere, thanks to this site and not ignoring things.:money:

Thinking of you all, MHags, from a cold bit of England (snow had melted by 10am).

    Get well now, VJsmum.

MCC - we get hot air balloons here all the time! Well, several times a month I see a few in the morning on my way to work. Driving home over the Clee Hills the other day, I saw one land in a field next to the road.

    Quick pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep - it started early last night as I was in bed by 8.30.

    2) Had a different timetable from normal at work and it is interesting to have a change sometimes.

    3) Saw my school friend after work for a cup of tea.

    4) Sons came home from school happy.

    5) Had pancakes with strawberries, bananas and golden syrup.

    6) Brother popped in to talk tactics with sons in their role playing game (they've had to make new characters, rather sad as they had used the old ones for about 3 years).

    7) Watched 24 Hours in A and E.

...and ate pancakes matin et soir, book-ending day. Still 6 left. That's what happens when one lives alone:-)))

    4. Starting Richmal Crompton's "Family Roundabout" after this, a lovely Persephone edition broomstick. Also, thank you for Writing Desk heads up. Had never heard of them.

    5. Felt grateful to be driving back in warm car tonight, through fiercely sleeting torrents.

Good afternoon. We are surprisingly still here, big changes through the night and I called the kids in at 4am. We all snoozed, all 5 of us. I was tucked back into a single bed again. When I say tucked I mean jammed.

We have been here for almost 2 weeks and have been shown nothing but love and kindess and care by staff, this morning a new to us nurse came in, he was at best indifferent and at worst truly awful. I was so upset and put in a complaint. He was removed. It turns out he's one of the unit managers and the other (lovely) one was also on so he was put on floor. Apparently his management skills and knowledge are excellent his bedside manner was appalling. I suppose the pleasure is I dealt with it . I'm a strong enough person to have taken care of it and I know what level of care that I expect and OH deserves.

So we had another sunrise , me with my husband in my arms, my children all spread out sleeping under a pile of white hospital blankets. I had left the blinds up so I could see the sun rise. I felt peaceful.

The washing is up to date...a moment of horror when there was no washing powder left in laundry ...but this was resolved with the finding of some more! Clean undies all round thank goodness!

Our lovely pain doctor texting me to see if it was okay to pop in and say hello, she didn't want to intrude. She popped in for a chat and gave me a hug.

So we continue to wait, OH is finally peaceful and settled after a few very unsettled days. It's a new month , we love March ( it's a birthday month for DD2 and I ) it's the first day of Autumn here.

    Have a lovely day x

Mhags thinking of you all and hugs.

    1. Worked with a colleague today who is really easy to work with as her approach is very similar to mine. Made an otherwise busy and frustrating day ok.

    2. Lovely sunrise.

    3. Managed to do more of DH accounts than I thought I would manage.

    4. DS2 cooked and even cooked pancakes. I had made the batter but he stood and cooked them. Had a laugh when he complained he hadn't eaten any yet!!

    5. Enjoyed my first coffee of the day in peace before others are up. It's a time I enjoy and without it t the day never seems right.
