- DF has kindly paid us for some extensive work we did for him last month, which is a great help to us as well.:)
- I re wrote my CV and letter and re sent it all out again, renewed determination, a little company has some work coming up but I don’t know when it will be so I need to keep plodding on.
- About to have a Christmas bit of chocolate, very naughty but nice, I also swear not having bread is doing wonders for not feeling bloated.:)

Evening all
Oh &, not again! On a more cheering note, I don't know if you heard that The Writing Desk (of the lovely pens and inks fame) are apparently opening a shop in Bury St Edmunds in April. Is that near enough to your bit of England to be useful?
Belated 'Happy birthday' to Lainey.
Still holding all the Mhagses in my thoughts.
Five pleasures for today:
1. Gardening mag (from MrT deals) came through the letter box.
2. Stopped after enough of a shop at W8rz to get my freebie paper and sat in the car having my freebie tea and doing my freebie sudoku, then I resumed my errands. V civilised.
3. Discovered that our business account has more money it than I realised. Not quite sure how that happened but I'm very pleased.
4. Am investigating what 80g portion sizes for fruit and veg actually look like when weighed properly and am pleasantly surprised. I think we'd been underestimating quite a lot. Managed five for lunch and five for supper for the last two days and ten (or more) a day seems pretty normal. Rather pleased. I'll keep weighing things until quantities are familiar.
5. Really lovely newsletter from a project I volunteer for - so much going on there right now.
Sweet dreams

5 pleasures from yesterday
1) very nice scrambled egg on toast for breakfast overlooking the runway.
2) flight delayed due to a member of the cabin crew being taken ill. Good it happened when the plane was on the ground. they finally wheeled her away in a wheelchair and she was smiling, so hopefully all well
3) inflight movie: girl on the train. took me a while to get into but absolutely gripping when i did. i hear the book is even better
4) missed our connection. first time that's ever happened to me (i've had at least 3 very close shaves). fortunately they transferred those of us for colombo onto a sri lankan airlines flight 90 minutes after our due departure. And our luggage made it too!
5) was put next to another displaced traveller whose boyfriend had been put further back. I offered to swap, which was gratefully received with a lovely smile
6) met friend hassle free in the airport. unfortunately he didn't get my abu dhabi message till i didn't get off the due flight and he found i wasn't on the flight list.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

5 Pleasures ( yesterday and today's mixed up)
1. Visited Manchester Central Library to collect requested books. Despite all the cutbacks the staff are so helpful and friendly.
2. Reading 'Don Camillo's Dilemma' and 'The Man Who Was Thursday'. Both from the library
3. Snow drifting down and looking very pretty from INSIDE a warm cosy room. Not so charming outside though.
4. A pair of bullfinches on the bird feeder yesterday - an absolute first in over 40 years of inner city living. So excited I rang MrC, who was on the allotment, to tell him :-)
5. Split pea soup in the slow cooker now simmering away ready for tomorrow's tea.0
