& has used gorilla glue which the discerning have already noted......well, for as long as &merci's hang on page.

    1. Emporium. Town of horse. Late triumph. Nailbrushes. New. Two - that's DEUX for the Bopperies, in albionspeak. Emporium site says 'we stock them not'. & found them in aisle of personal cleans AND ON OFFER!!! 112 pennies. Next cheapest@Superdrug, same swankish marque, 159pennies.
    Very bon.

    2. & still enjoying own coinage of Agent Orange for usa rump, but spotted another amid emporium headlines doodling about ''Lunatic Fringe electing Fringe Lunatic.''

    3. Had to deal with sthg/someone/lingering situ head-on today. Done firmly, with letter, with courtesy, without wriggle room or rancour. Returned this evening: result.

    4. Lamb thing in slowcooker+cardomom, star anise, veggie wrinklers, un petit vin blanc. Mmm-mmmmm! Rice done, fluffed. All in good maturing wait for Spitalfields munch come Thursday.

    5. A most superior mistake and a half made at some undetermined point in last decade
All osp-ers here have done the same...stowed away the new greaseproof, baking foil, whatever....only to re-discover it, transformed into ready-rolled marzipan[never knowingly acquired by &.] Now, this has happened at some point in historiography- AND SILENTLY.
    Admissions on a postcard please.

6[hastened by 5] 1st Crimbo cake now petticoated. 2 to go, but not tonight. Yesyesyes, lagging well behind bop's, can't even make the weight....nairy mind. Let bop's triumph.;) &'s 1st is merely a Spitalfields persuader.

Standing well please, good open intercostal diaphragmatic breathing and watch....baton....we're away-

    3. only 3 more days at work then 2 weeks off (do you see a theme developing here ;) )

    4. used an asda price guarantee voucher for £2.17 and got some "free" Christmas cards for folks at work as I have run out after sending all others to family. Picked up some bits and pieces I cant get anywhere else (...Heinz garlic sauce ) Also got DS some lynx spray for his stocking on offer

    5. put my meter readings into EON website and the bill so far to date is only £6 (taking off credit built up and monthly direct debit). Am due to leave them by the end of the month so I am trying to keep my usage down so I don't have a big final bill.

    Pleasures for today (Tuesday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Work went OK.

    3) Went to town after work for a cup of tea with my school friend.

    4) My dad's Christmas present arrived - 3 tiny walnut trees, slightly differing varieties. They've already planted a tiny orchard but haven't got a single walnut tree.

    5) A tasty pasta tea.

    6) In a rare fit of enthusiasm, cleaned out the turtle tank, then cleaned the bathroom, did a load of washing and washed up!

    7) Watched the archaeology programme at 9 on BBC4. So rare to get anything good about archaeology - I never could abide Time Team and the very irritating Tony Robinson! No one I recognised working on this programme, though.
  • 1) My walks with my friend Sue and Charlie retriever, we natter, laugh and generally put each others worlds to rights. It's a very comforting thing to have a friend isn't it?

    2) The people in this village who care about it and the people who live here and are prepared to act to make and keep it a good place for us all to live in. We have an issue at the moment with some Big impersonal building firms illegally clearing woodland after tree protection orders have been put on it and I know at least 2 good souls who have contacted the council and tried to stop it!

    3) Looking forward to a walk at the arboretum where we are members today, the paths will be clear and it looks to be a dry day and it's a beautiful place in any season.

    4) Had a much better nights sleep last night and feel much more alive this morning as a consequence!

    5) Sitting in the lounge last evening with the fire lit, some candles lit, the Christmas tree lights on and no TV or music on brought me such a relaxed and peaceful mood, I should learn from this and do it more often, just lovely!

    Morning all

Mrs LW - yes, it is amazing to have friends.
    Sparrer - welcome back!

pleasures for the last couple of days

    1. Put my christmas tree up. I collect christmas tree decs (I know McCulloch does too) - from my travels or just when i see one i like. This year only produced two new ones - an angel from lesotho and a merry go round from the German market. Every year they are a source of joy remembering where i got them.
    2. The mother in law wasnt too martyrish - even when i took her home
    3. Laughing (silently) at the immaculately dressed man on the train with a whacking great hole in his shoe. And I was singing the song all day
    4. I got another job yesterday - as well as the PhD, not instead of. I am going to do a few hours a week for a university that delivers all of its courses online. It will keep my hand in
    5. OH has been cooking dinner all week and tonight we are going en famille for a curry :T

    Have a great day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Almost bedtime from the land of lovely cool fresh air.

Woke up early ( after sleeping badly due to heat) and went out looking for moon but it wasn't to be seen. Temperatures had dropped from 29o to 16o and was just delicious in its freshness.

Took train, handed in last load of teatowels, took my money and went and met friend and had a good chat with her.

Bought a lovely bunch of multi coloured roses and a huge bunch of godetia.

Home on train and was surprised to see a lady with a parrot on her shoulder...told DD1 and she asked was it a red parrot? Yes...seems it has been in her shop ....apparently the lady said it doesn't like being left in the car! Takes all sorts!

Hospital. Lovely doctor who we both really like.

In the lift we met a beautiful chocolate lab pup who is a trainee guide dog ( called seeing eye dogs here) . Very unusual to have choccy ones. Apparently the prospective owner had a chocolate lab and had requested another as their seeing eye dog. He was just gorgeous.

Home to slow cooked steak pie. Which turned out to be a freebie. Bought RTC steak at DD1's shop yesterday but it scanned at full price which I hadn't noticed till checking my receipt, went back in, full cash back and kept meat. Thank you!

Much hilarity with 3 overgrown children and a dog on my bed ordering OHs Christmas gift.

Stunning sunset as I type. Mr blackbird singing.

    Have a great day :)
  • 1. For today, DH cleared out all of the animal run, cleaned out, re loaded up and wrapped it up from the cold. They are inside with us at any rate it hardly gets used at the moment but wanted to make sure it was all disinfected.:T
    2. I deep cleaned of all the upstairs, everything that could be moved was and cleaned, ditto for all mirrors, then dust, and floor, old bedding off washed and other bedding on.:p
    3. Collapse in heap with painkillers fruit and a veg soup that the animals decided to help me with.:o
    4. Walked up to the local shop for stamps and posted off the Christmas cards.:)
    5. Ordered DH a little present as per Dads wishes and I knew what he wanted, shopped about and found it ten pounds cheaper on Am@z.:)
    6. Tonight’s dinner will be wraps with anything I can put together, we are rather desperate for a shop as I have been to unwell to do anything until today, so glad to be feeling a bit better that I might of over done it a tad.:o
  • Take it easy PK the cleaning will still be there tomorrow and you don't want to be laid up over Xmas !

    Pleasures for today

    1. booked Friday off work so tomorrow is now my last day until Jan yay !

    2. afternoon sun. Towels washed and out on the line blowing in the breeze for a couple of hours. Now on airers indoors.

    3. DS back from his Christmas works do along the coast in a hotel overnight. He's got his washing on and he's packing again as he's away tomorrow to DL Paris with gf - he's staying at gf house tonight - I will have the place to myself and no cooking for / cleaning after anyone else for a whole week. :j Can't complain too much as he's hardly ever here but he's been annoying me lately so I am ready for a break !

    4. nice chat with DF on phone.

    5. double checking with D Line car insurance & reassurance if I go with them they will give me a couple of weeks grace due to postal strike to get proof of current no claims to them. Not sure I can upload my documents :o Hopefully DS will do it before he goes tonight
