  • Skint, Thanks, I took your advice today.

1, Took it very easy today mainly sitting or napping.:o
    2. When sitting, I did do some serious job searching and keeping the CV updated and out there.
    3. I did have a lunchtime nap.
    4. We are out this evening all evening as part of a community event, we are actually pulling Santas Sleigh, as he needs to double check his list with the children tonight, the car is all togged up in lights and tinsel as well. Properly enjoyed the children’s faces:)
    5. Food planned, we can’t do casseroles at the moment as the oven is having a sense of humour. So we had some very late night chicken and pasta, mainly because the Chinese was closed.:rotfl:

    Evening all,

VJsmum, what a lovely thing to do with your wedding dress.
Frith, I've been enjoying the BBC4 archaeology programmes too.

Some pleasures since last I posted:

    1. Enjoying using a brand new purse that was given to me as a present.

    2. Our agent sorted out for our bathroom to be redecorated so it now looks much better.

    3. Elderly DF's hospital tests/scans all proved not worrisome and he got a diagnosis of something that should be easily fixable - relief all round - well done the NHS.

    4. Realised that I can use the vouchers I've been getting for RM surveys to pay for a bunch of toiletries on my Xmas prezzie shopping list.

    5. Lovely phone calls with friends this afternoon putting our mutually shared bit of the world to rights. Lots of laughter.

    Sweet dreams
    B x

    Nearly bedtime.

    A good enough day :

Lovely chat with one of my friends from home.

Visit from SW from Palliative Care Team for chat/ counselling. A mainly positive session. A few tears but mainly smiles.

    Squaaaaash! Mammogram ..free screening.

Abandon Hope all ye who enter Centrelink...had to request some forms. Sigh! Pleasure, is it's done,

Supermarket. Didn't spend a terrible huge amount. Bought a gift voucher to send to Melbourne Period Project. They supply sanitary products etc to homeless women in a Melbourne ( such a homeless problem in the City) anyway they need insect repellant , deodorant , water bottles or a donation of supermarket vouchers so they can buy them. So DD1 and I have done that.

Home to a poorly husband , think yesterday's visit had been too much and then had to cancel other friends who had asked to visit tonight. They still brought cake ! HUGE gateau that has filled the fridge!

All kids out tonight and all shall be out and about all weekend. Shhh it will be so quiet!

Discovered a minah birds nest in my big tree in driveway. Must be new.

    Have a good one :)

no one talks about Jeddah July 1990

Just curious as to why you keep referencing these talks, the invasion would have happened anyway surely? the Kuwaitis were never going to cede to the Iraqi demands to write off their war debts and give away oil fields? Or am I missing something?

  • Afternoon all!
Frith love folk music here and have seen The Unthanks a few times, earlier this year in Wem. Sadly we are in the larger town in the north of the county, so don't get down to Ludlow much. We have done some singing workshops with Polly Bolton who is down that way.

    Pleasures as follows
    1. shopping with in budget (£15) in Aldi, BUT they have redone the store and it took me ages to find things.
    2. A better nights sleep with less coughing last night.
    3. Semolina pudding last evening
    4. Having far less washing to do now with DDad not here and not using the tumble drier for nearly a week now (drying rack placed in front of logburner before bed and washing dry in morning:j)
    5. Two social engagements today, xmas party at the care home and then drinks and nibbles with friends tonight.

I am going to have a number 6 today too:eek: we will be walking back from friends house in the village tonight:j OH had a below knee amputation in January and is able to walk so much better than before (he has CMT) so we can BOTH get sozzled tonight:T:T:T
Now Mrs FrugalinShropshire:T Proud to be mortgage and debt free:j
  • Frugal your number 6 is definitely allowed. My uncle had a double amputation and I know how hard it can be so your OH has done really well

    Continuing from earlier pleasures today

    1. day off work :j

    2. bought car insurance and they managed to find my ncb online so I don't now need to send in proof... renewal quote £350 - same cover elsewhere - nil excess £193 :money:

    3. took a bottle of garlic sauce back to Asda as it was already opened inside when I took the lid off to use it. I didn't have the receipt but they swapped it for a new bottle no problem, am not too proud to take stuff back, as £1.50 is not cheap !

    4. also got the last pair of straight leg black jeans for only £12 - all the others were skinny - which my legs are not :p
Looking forward to a girls night out tonight - going to our local so no taxi fares as its only a 5 minute walk and will be a cheap night

    5. put out some old videos in boxes and they have gone. Saves me a trip to the tip as no one seemed to want them

Convenient to forget, that is why. Everyone harked on about Bliar and 2003. We forget the slaughter of the Iran Iraq war 20 plus years earlier. To day, we see the suffering in Syria and in all that time done sweet fa. To me it is personal. As personal as the absolute nonsense form the British Embassy in Riyadh on 2nd June 1990. I got the Tee Shirt as well.

5 Was out last nite to top off the year with a steak out. Top place, the kidneys of devils were nice. But the steak. Why have we got to salting everything and then wanting to put sauce on it. Carp. Avoid. I avoided the chips as well. They were triple cooked. Twice too many. Avoid.

4 Wobbleades were nice though. Tum was not rubbed.

3 Chicken, snorkers and prawns out of freezer. You know what comes on nite of Saturday! More tomorrow.

2 Nite Big Warster train is set for the off, well around soon. We gets off four stops from the end! You has got it, it is a tile nite and cans of paint are redded! More tomorrow.

I saw the Unthanks on the pyramid stage at Glastonbury 2015. They clog danced :D. Great fun and great music

    Pleasures for today

1 got house insurance a hell of a lot cheaper than my first quote
2 nice drive to ice cream town with a Christmas car load
3 OH had bought a coat stand for my birthday present, which was a surprise when I got here (birthday is Sunday). Whilst we needed s coat stand, I liked this one but it was more than I could justify so am thrilled to have it as a present.
    4. Caramel croissant pudding for dinner yesterday, just that. No main :p
    5. Sold second lot of DS Lego, he used the money to buy a concert ticket

Have a great evening all - we are walking another section of coast path tomorrow
I wanna be in the room where it happens
