2. We popped to Tesco with a £10 off voucher, I was worried we wouldn’t meet the limit but er well with a few extra luxuries and a bottle Christmas present fair to say we beat it by 15 so dam it:o, ah well just a small lidl run left to do.:T
    3. Some reductions were tea:cool:
    4. It must be an insurance time of year, I made a couple of calls to sort home ins, and phoned to cancel, then they went above and beyond they couldn’t quite match it but we stayed as they are far better and knocked off £350 off my renewal.
    5. Had my vitamin jab, always feel a bit better soon after.

    6) Sons went off role playing with my brother and brother in law.

    Quiet day
Was first in queue at post office to collect a parcel.
Lovely, helpful pharmacist. He is such a nice chap.
    Lovely hug from my son.
Nice chat with my niece and my great niece telling me all about her ' activity ' play, she was a shepherd and then told me who every single other person in her class was!
Took huge cake over to DD1's work ....then got a text to say she'd dropped it! Oh dear!
DD2 home with bread and doughnuts etc.
    Nice evening doggy walk

    Have a good weekend
  • 5 Brunched off. Best back, and snorkers have been grilled. Mash spud, star cut toms and mushrooms. Hot buttered toast and marmite topped with eight egg scrambled with fresh milk. Wolfed down with tea! Rubbing of tum has occurred.

4 Then sat down to listen to the mariners only for BoPsie to mouth off that they have already played! Boo.

3 Oh well, not going too well after the cans of paint were sprayed around town last night. Raffles followed us to the protected nature reserve and disposed of a couple of great newts of crest, then waited all night to the train for Warster dropped us off near home and guided us back to the pad of BoP!

2 Night we will be feasting on the usual foods like Slimey Dragon Prawns, Dynamite mushrooms and sticky chickens. Mixed woibbleales are to be consumed.

    I washed the car instead!
  • 1. lazy morning after hectic night out - the local pub was packed, too hot and the music was too loud... I must be getting old ! once someone threw open the doors and some of the hordes went on to town we got a seat and had a good chinwag.

    2. sun came out about 11.30 today after a grey cloudy morning so I put out some washing and was surprised how warm it was outside. Not much breeze though so although left out for a few hours the clothes are not quite dry, so have left them to finish off on airers

    3. had a walk round the local pond in the sunshine watching the wildlife, then headed back via local co-op and picked up milk as they do 4 pints for £1

    4. tidying done, dishwasher on, ironing done. Sanded the polyfiller patch up in the wall of my bedroom ready for painting tomorrow. It takes me ages to decorate due to my bad back and now my thyroid op but 3 walls have been done and I'd like to finish the final wall before Christmas

    5. my hands were good today so I managed to do some sewing that has been waiting for ages. Mended a hole in one of DS's tshirts and a seam that had come undone in his jogging bottoms.

  • 1. I have never watched The fellowship of the ring and now I have, I think I was more impressed by the scenery and not knowing where the real scenery stops.:o

    2. We have saved the cost of a planned take away today, because we really want to keep hold of any pennies and the freezers are healthy. I am patting myself on the back:D

    3. When we travelled to DF today we did a present run for him, DB and a family friend, it felt lovely, but we also forgot to take the usual essentials we normally do, ah well next time.:)

    4. Washing is hanging about the house hopefully drying.

    5. A little @bay gift I ordered from China for DH wasn’t due to turn up before Christmas but it turned up today, fingers crossed it’s ok its what he wanted and very cheap.:p

Not a pleasure I’m feeling overly emotional tonight, DF was the worst we have seen him, his carers have called in the doctor to check tomorrow.

PK - sorry to hear about your dad and hope the doctor is helpful tomorrow.

Both sons problematic today - smaller son always is with the change of pace of the holidays. Bigger son monosyllabic - he has been unhappy the past few weeks - and saying this is the first time ever he has had no excitement over Christmas at all. :-(

    Anyway, pleasures for today!

    1) A lie in...

2)... until my brother appeared as smaller son had told him he has bought a week's worth of Sky! So they were sat watching the cricket from 9am this morning.

    3) Sausage and egg sandwiches for breakfast.

    4) Wraps done under the grill for lunch with chicken, peppers, tomatoes, feta and olives.

    5) Smaller son went to the cinema with his friend to watch the new Star Wars. This is the first time he has agreed to any social event/meeting outside of school since he went with the same friend to watch the previous Star Wars film, almost a year ago to the day!

    6) Bigger son and I went to see the chickens (2 eggs again) and he moved the rat traps around and put fresh bait on. One went off while we were there but it had only caught a mouse.

    7) Bigger son applied to the college where he wants to do engineering after school. I think it might be the briefest personal statement they will ever have received but it was sent off (electronically) so that is that job done.

    8) We caught up on 4 episodes of Humans.

    Evening all.

    Five pleasures for today:

    1. A box of the loveliest clementines with leaves on.

    2. Sitting chatting after supper with DS1 infront of the fire.

    3. My DM's eyes have been given a clean bill of health post cataract surgery and she's been signed off at the hospital.

    4. Making time in the car to sit and enjoy my freebie cuppa and newspaper from W8rze before I drove home through pea soup fog.

    5. And a really, really lovely thing... a very kind woman on Freegle gave me a bicycle (with 5 gears, basket and rear carrier). It needs a bit of work but I have two wheels again.:j I gave my last bike away about ten years ago to a job-creating bike renovation charity because it was not being used at that time and getting rusty. Am very happy at the thought of getting biking again even though it will just be round the village.

    Sweet dreams

  • 1) Sleeping in until 8 this morning, absolutely amazing and hasn't happened for YEARS!!!

    2) Exchanging phone photos with DD1 of our Christmas Trees and room decorations with all the candles lit and both woodstoves going, looked like Christmas Cards!

    3) Much rugby on the TV yesterday which was thoroughly enjoyed particularly the Wasps Connacht game which was won in the last dying seconds of the game by a very clever try and conversion and more today.....really is my idea of Heaven.

    4) The feeling for the first time in my life that Christmas isn't about the getting and eating but about family and being together and sharing the day together because we love each other. This is the first time since my late teens when I haven't been in charge and I'm loving the freedom and lack of pressure.

    5) A use up day for food, the only cooking I'll have to do is to prepare and steam some home grown (mostly) veg so I'll have time to watch the rugby without feeling guilty.....MAGIC!!!
