Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. It's a madhouse here. Thought I dash in and say hello.
We are flying out to Pennsylvania for a week then coming home and driving 7 hrs (with presents in tow) to oldest daughter's home. DH is having hand surgery before all the kids get there for Christmas.

Meanwhile remodeling continues. Pepe went back to Kansas for xWife's open heart surgery. He almost got the outside of the house painted, just lacking one door and a few iron pole decoration type things. We have no clue if he will ever return. Neither does his sister. (Our hard worker who spoke no English) So so blessed to have had him here!!
So we are left with Bryan on the inside who has his own time schedule.

    Waves from New Mexico!!!!
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

    5) Went to mum and dad's for tea, taking a Chinese takeaway with us.

    6) Watched the Last Leg.

  • Do not panic, Bopette and her Drambuie is still on the top shelf. It is only used for medicinal purposes these days. Great Aunt Nancy lived well into her 90's with a wee tot every so often.

5 Last night was inn town to see a flick. Forest Gump was still running, but now flies a plane. BoPsie was there as well and we canoodled on the back row. Bit off, but as BoP does work in aviation, I did post a picture with an Enid book, though as I am aware, one is not allowed to use the terms any more. The book, is about toy town and has a policeman in it as well!

4 Also we visited the wobbleade emporium. Wobbl;eades were consumed and tikka bits munched on. Also, for the thirst time inn an age, the big Warster train appeared on time and we got off four stops from the end. Then

3 We watched the Grand Tour again. From Whitby, a minor non fishing port slightly further north than the best one since sliced bread. Now ... Better now not on the cooking channel.

2 Day BoP is resting after mega snorker fest. Scrambled egg was also put on toast and tea was drunk. Tonight's sticky chicken, slimey prawns and dynamite mushrooms. Tum is rubbed.

There in the field, you can see your dreams

    1. Had a lovely time chez Chap on Thursday, just nattering and laughing for a couple of hours. He's good for the spirits and gives great hugs :)

    2. Made a beautiful (even if I say so myself) wreath for our front door and had such a lovely time with lots of mummies and grannies at school. Once they got over the fact I have a first name when out of school hours, they were very friendly, lol :)

    3. I gave the class of doing maths games/English games online or watching Elf as we didn't have any chairs and so couldn't do 'proper' work easily....

    4. Elf was chosen as I thought we weren't going to be able to have a 'class credit' party on Monday, but it turned out we can, so pyjamas, teddy and snacks are going to be got ready this weekend for a less than educationally valuable afternoon......I feel guilty but will get them hard at work in the morning doing a science and geography test, honest guv'nor!

    5. Looking forward to hopefully finishing off my Christmas shopping today with DD.

    4. went to dads yesterday - finally got my hands on some cleaning as brothers girlfriend has moved out. Situation with brother is less clear. i am happy that dad shoulnd't get food poisoning from the fridge now

    2) Still getting better but impressive, rattly cough.

    3) Went to Ludlow with my brother. Parents were providing the music for morris dancers.

    Evening all.

    Five pleasures for Saturday:

    1. Slept in this morning and woke up later than I'd intended but it didn't matter.

    2. Took some very nice photos of the ex allotment pumpkins and squashes currently sitting on the kitchen windowsill. They really cheer the place up. I'm not sure I want to eat them!

    3. Brie and pears for lunch.

    4. Phone call with my parents - both on good form.

    5. Really lovely evening with DS1 chatting in front of a blazing fire finishing the end of last night's scrabble game and playing a highly competitive second one. We keep a running record of our individual totals but also of our combined one to see if we can improve on that as well. Tonight's was pretty good.

    Sweet dreams,

    Bx

Sunday already how did that happen? Welcome hope the, waves to all

    1) Spent Thursday and Friday working on interdisciplinary professional doctorate. Exhausting but hugely fun. Then Thur evening 2 hour supervision in pub. Well it is nearly Christmas. then end of international students event Thursday evening, had missed all the food so stopped off on way home for fish and chips. Got there 2 mins before kitchen closes phew.

    2) got paint so decorator all ready to start on top floor while I'm away. Girlie pink for my bedroom, barley for my bathroom, mint for next door. Bewildering number of types and colours.

    3) gbf came round after lunch. Lovely walk with dogs. Then we went to live from the met l'amour de loin. Beautiful and quite mesmerising. I went on gbf's recently deceased cp's prebooked ticket which was of course very sad. But very glad we went

    4) met mr piano briefly after. He had been playing at a friend's Christmas charity show which I would have gone to if not doing 5. Mr piano invited us to join him and friends but gbf and I are officially now old and find the dca bar 'far too noisy' :rotfl: so instead...

    5) home for mr l pizza piled high with cheddar and Parmesan I had grated and frozen tail end of 2 Parmesans that I normally chuck and a chunk of cheddar which had gone hard cos someone had left the lid off - very yummy and of course very mse

Today I need to finish moving stuff for the decorator, pack, start writing Christmas cards, and go to uni carol service at 5. 2 more sleeps till Pakistan!
