Sunday evening here...not quite bedtime but heading that way. It's been a most pleasant day weather wise though next couple of days have to be hotties :(

Last few days : we were supposed to have palliative care team visits on Friday. Music therapist first and then social worker for me. So OH was really not well and I called to cancel MT.

Then went to local optician with DD2. She has always had poor eyesight and had made an appointment at usual place but usual optIcian on maternity leave so saw someone else. This is the first time in 16 years I had not been at an eye appointment with her. Optician said her eyesight in one eye had drastically improved and changed prescription...my mother's instinct said get this double checked at local optician...just as well...prescription staying the same and me , (smugly ) right again! I just could not understand why it would suddenly dramatically improve. New specs ordered : we have optical allowance on our health insurance so nothing to pay.

Then home and waited and waited for Social Worker to come....had by this point waited 1.5 hours and no show. So I called and discovered it had been cancelled! Because I had cancelled MT, SW was cancelled too. Anyway had a good chat with her on phone and she will come out this coming Friday.

Then I started feeling a bit dizzy. I've had labyrinthitis on and off for 14 years following a horrid virus and it's just something that flares up every now and again , usually when I'm run down or under stress. I believe its my body's way of saying STOP! I usually have a weird feeling the night before and then wake up with it and feel crappy for 3 days and then it's usually past. So to start getting dizzy in the afternoon was odd and this worsened as evening went past and then Saturday's dizziness and unbalanced-ness was just awful. However, today has improved as its went on so hoping tomorrow I'm back to normal. There were fish fingers in the freezer for such an occasion and nobody starved!

Today , I decided to do as much as i could and made a rather tasty lasagne with new potatoes and salad, individual pavlovas with strawberries and rather nice spicy Apple and cranberry cupcakes with vanilla frosting. All very delicous.

All washing and ironing up to date.

Went to library and borrowed a couple of books and some DVDs.

DD1 cut grass after her work and I attempted to pull up some weeds but that made me dizzy ( good excuse! )

Our first strawberry has ripened and we have a few tomatoes growing. I think we have one pea pod! Very disappointed with peas.

Picked some sweet peas and the smell is so delicous, my FIL always grew them in his garden and I would always come away with bunches of them in summer. So when I smelled these this afternoon that was what I was reminded of.

Mr Blackbird has been singing away this evening. Lovely sound.

We have a full on week ahead. Lots of medical appointments at home and at hospital. Shall garner strength by eating another cupcake for my supper I think!

Have a lovely day :)DDhave a safe and interesting trip to Pakistan.
  • Chez and piano. Oh dear, smitten instead of kitten. Learn from BoP's advice. Get a bl00dy cat! Oh, and the Jacket from Paris!

5 Just bin to the gym on the mill of tread and the keg stretch machine. You see, BoP has flexibility put back into him, splits, no problemo. Now can reach high and kick. So watch it there.

4 Just had a decent tart with ham cheese sarnies. Jam tart. Lovely. Tasty. Cup of tea was also downed, wolf downed. Tum is being rubbed. BoPsie, or Bopette in the Parish, has my apron on. It does not fit. She is doing the fruit salad. Yesterday, our xmas cake that has been gently seeping on whisky, was covered in marzipan and iced. It weight is 10lbs. It will not see Easter.

3 Did shop, punters everywhere, gawping. All buying foods that they will not eat. And at the door was the obligatory school monotonic quire. Same key, same tone. Jingle tills. Oh to win away. Oh, DD on tour! Could be one of my bits of kit that get your kite in the air to Islamabad!

2 Day BoP is making turnovers. Bit like pasties, but BoP style. All inns they will be. Served with creamy Spuds of Nash, fresh leeks and cauliflower. Toe nail onion gravy, pan made not that foam variety. Might have soup as well.

Late enough for you, the door was locked, we we're out of here!

What ho all! Festive greetings & triple extra mince pies to mhagster & family!

Still 'dancing' like a thing demented, but I believe the conductor's baton may be About To Slow Down.

    OS Pleasures recently
To be backed up that an AK47 fiver *is* a rarity & locating a blander numbered note to swap into the Christmas card.

To realise that porridge does the job some days. Even in tiny portions. Weighing out pinhead oatmeal in advance seems to be the way to make a quick healthy breakfast with the stuff yet!

Looking out onto tree still holding some leaves, pale green & yellow against the black trunk. Glorious.

Sons happily drawing up Christmas wish list & this year I'm enjoying using cashback sites, as well as Google-fu.... We will make every pound squeak!

While I utterly do not understand the relationship that lets my son buy his best mate's girl an expensive lipstick, they are all fine with it, & as a fast comms channel it's brilliant.

Waved to the tailor - in sunlight & daylight!

Child has mum management sorted. Beside the forms required by school, a tested working biro & a big mug of tea....

Saw a truck with a 4 pint of milk tied on the flatbed - simple way to keep it cool!

Splendid golden wedding party - lots of family, love, laughter, stories, photos & then collapse back into scruffs & usual family rub-along. Delighted parents exhausted but awed at the love, and that I scrubbed up so passable for the event! [Didn't Notice the eschewing effects but one cousin did, as did practice nurse...]

Had my first ever taste of pink champagne! Sons tried it carefully & all decided they preferred the elderflower. Everyone happy!

"My cringe bone is Broken" - sons' grip on small talk needs a Lot more work, but their smiles & hugs largely redeemed them.

Great big hugs to all who need them, (tender blessings also available, but even at formal events I require my outfits to allow me to Hug, & thoroughly), I know Tis The Season but the greivous lurgy Does Wear Off Eventually, and to see so many family members all smiling? Is delightful, and also means someone else has got the washing up chore.

    Pleasures for today (Sunday).

    1) A lie in!

    2) Caught some of the Archers.

    3) Cleaned the stove (necessitating numerous trips to the bin, hoovering and steaming the floor round it, black lead polish...) Looks good now.

    4) Swept and tidied the garden.

    5) Went down to see the hens. Something happening in our tiny tin church - flood lights set up and a portaloo in the grounds (grounds around church are not even as big as my living room so no idea what was going on there!) Lots of cars parked too.

Ooft to it still being 26o at my bedtime! That's a little bit coolerthan 33o earlier.

    Today :
Early morning chat to friend from home.

Dog walk to vets , my super skinny boy has lost 3 kg in 3 weeks...I've a whole wardrobe of clothes that would fit if I did the same! One more kg to go!

Then walked to dry cleaners to pick up DD2 blazer which then had to be taken to uniform shop ( miles away) so her house captain colours can be sewn on ...$50 please and thank you!

One nurse in, one nurse out and another one...revolving door!

    Lunch! Doggy bag for DD1

Little bit of Christmas shopping then came home and wrapped ( in the heat, grumbling!)

Left over lasagne and salad for tea. Left over pavlova and ice cream for pud....this is why I don't lose 3kg

Paperwork Schmaperwork ...bloody form filling! Not a pleasure but done!

Very early start tomorrow , hospital for 8am which means leaving at 6.30am.

    Have a great Monday :)
