1. Having tea from freezer - burgers I had frozen in the summer for BBQ and potato wedges both normal and sweet potatoes so stretched the sweet potato. Used up some onions and peppers to. It was surprisingly good.
2. Speaking to a colleague. She is finding things tough at the moment and she seemed slightly happier at end of conversation. She needed to offload on someone.
3. Chat with DS1 and DS2 being helpful.
4. Blue sky and Sun. Very cold but can manage with cold if dry.
5. Someone asking about my mother in law at work. She knew as was concerned the week after MIL went in to hospital as I was so tired.
6. Managing,just, to keep back pain at a manageable level.0 -
Morning - another day, another train.
pleasures for the last whenever.
1. i went to Lisbon. Me, OH, DS. No idea why - I think OH felt guilty that he'd gone on a long holiday without us. It was lovely and we could have spent longer there. We are very conscious that the times DS wants to be with us are running out so we want to make the most of it.
2. Whilst there we went to the football, only my fifth ever proper football match. No goals but some punch upsSome !!!!!! nicked my umbrella.
3. OH and I went to the pictures on Monday to see A United Kingdom. Lovely film. We were thinking of going to Botswana anyway next year - more so now.
4. Sent work to supervisors Monday night, ready for today's meeting. SO I took two days off and have cleaned the house, caught up the laundry and other odds and sods of jobs.
5. Last episode of the missing - very satisfactory.
Have a great day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1) A white sparkling frosty morning.
2) Pictures of the frozen river that He Who Knows took this morning when he walked the hound.
3) The smell of wood smoke in the village when I went to the post office.
4) The car dealership in the village has decorated some shrubs for Christmas, first set of decorations up, well done them!!!
5) 3 roe deer again in the wilderness field, standing in the still frosty grass steaming slightly in the sun, beautiful!0 -
5 Unsurprisingly that will not affect your continued amazement that BoP is at least the greatest thing since sliced bread. Now you have been told.
4 Just sorting out next years big trip over the pond. Now where is it BoP is going! More soon.
3 New bin collection in BoP town. Chaos. Not collected. Waste of rate payers money. You can add council workers to BoP's list of useless occupations, joining Humane Remains, Social workers and you have guessed it, educationalists! Don't get BoP started now!
2 Night is a film night with BoPsie ... could be a MM.
There is no known cure, you will just have to ...0 -

Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Made it to work again, through -3 temperatures and (as always) no grit on the roads.
3) Work went OK. Had a little class, which was scary not least because nothing worked - no interactive whiteboard, no register then no board pens!
4) Had a quick game of football with smaller son.
5) Went to see the hens with bigger son. Took a flask of boiling water and made them some warm granola to take the chill off before they went to bed.
6) Tasty tea.
7) Had a bit of a tidy up.
8) Sons did a bit of work on their Sinter Klaas presents.
9) Watched I'm a Celebrity.0 -
Let me find some positivity and some pleasures.
It's a bit tough going at the moment.
Sunshine ...not too hot today ( hot yesterday)
In amongst the noticeably awful because they are unusual at hospital are the shining stars who go above and beyond. One such shining star today. Thank you!
Hard boiled , free range and free ( from DD1's tutor job ) eggs, delicious and the yolks are so yellow.
Christmas trees...3 are decorated and 1 to do. Back porch is suitably festive and pretty. Picked up my hydrangaes yesterday morning. Paid from my laundry money ( which has been topped up again today)
Kids liked their advent gifts ...today's were a half pack of polo mints! ( which is a treat as we can't get them here...and sharing is caring!)
I've done advent for my great niece back home so she was very happy with her first gift. Lovely photo of her with it. I shall look forward to my daily photos.
Have much to do....visitors first thing ...but shall get there....potter here and potter there!
Have a lovely day0 -
Thinking of you Mhags tough going certainly sums it up,
As always, time spent with DM, her grace and courage in coping with this horrendous final illness, simply blessed to have her in my life.
Finally managed to catch the Fantastic Beasts film, afternoon film watching with Captain S and sneaked in Allsorts.
Candles on the hearth as Autumn rolls into Winter.
The beech trees are finally giving up their leaves, our lawn is covered but have neither the time or inclination to tidy up.
Solved the mysterious banging sound, a blackbird helping himself to windfalls on garden table meant it was knocking against side of house, glad we ruled out Poltergeist activity :rotfl:
Bright, frosty days mean spectacular sunsets across the fens.
Spending the evening with DSIL and nieces, they were looking through their Dad's memory box so lots of reminiscing about DB.
The many offers from dear friends to get a horsey fix riding one of their neddies, maybe at some point but heart is still too sore at losing my lovely lad.
The large brock crossing the road late at night, just caught sight of him in my headlights, talking of which...
Am enjoying driving my new to me car, it's good to be back in a mini with all those big dials and go-cart steering, makes all the miles up and down the dreaded A14 a tad easier.
The last of the tea-loaf spread with thoughtful pal's scrumptious raspberry and whisky jam.0 -
villiagelife - BBQ food - what a lovely taste of summer
(((Hugs))) to all with ill loved ones x
Pleasures for Thursday.....

2. used my free specialilty burger voucher for McD's nom nom
3. drove round looking for a milky bar advent calendar... cant believe how many stores had sold out of all advent calendars. One coop told me the only place that still had some was the range. I phoned them and they put one behind the customer services counter for me. When I picked it up it was reduced to 99p  Never seen a 21yo so pleased with a milky bar calendar !

Oh no, DD goes BoP style on the train with a hip flask. Only thing is, bet there's a bit of whisky in there!
5 First code done for the engine done and uploaded. Did not go thirst time, but a cup of the tea does help and it is on its way!
4 Oh as BoP was uploading this day, we wolfed down the FryDay feast of chips, mushed peas and fish. Tum was rubbed!
3 And we wait and see if the table has a brown envelope of cash ... Looks like they have a good contract bagged in the carpets that should see BoP out. Tills are ringing!
2 Dank to even think about the Warster train that is big this night. So we are soggling up on the sofa and the Grand Tour, and a film. Could be a MM.
