Exciting news, Kittikins!
Bop - is the Warster train up my way?
MSE forums playing up even more than usual this evening so hope this posts (3rd attempt).
Pleasures for the weekend:
1) 2 lie ins.
2) House tidier, beds changed, loads of washing done.
3) Made my person's Sinter Klaas present, ready for next weekend. Just a bit more painting to go...
4) Attempted to pop into Ludlow but pushed out by a million tourists and the overpriced festival/fair thing. So joined the locals in a quick shop in Aldi. Always surprises me how good it is!
5) Chips from the van for tea.
6) Brother came round for chips and to watch I'm a Celebrity.
7) School friend phoned.
8) Did 2 hours+ of college work this morning (!)
9) Went to see the hens. Barbara's head looks scruffy with little quills as she's had a 2nd, less thorough moult.
10) Sons home and playing on their phones in front of the fire (bigger son under his quilt on the sofa) while we wait for I'm a Celebrity.
11) Just done a Sainsburys online shop and chucked in the almonds I need to try and make my own Lebkuchen.
12) Watched Casualty today on iplayer.
13) Listened to the Archers.
14) Feel quite organised for tomorrow! 3 weeks left at work...0 -
Poor Adam frith (just catching up now)
1) lovely wedding yesterday. Gorgeous music, stunning dress and flowers, excellent speeches, ceilidhing then chatting with friends, new and old, in the bar. Anthology palace - very posh
2) very kind work colleague gave me, mr piano and another friend a lift home as she was in the vicinity
3) up at 7:20 groan for the dogs. Xoh arrived last night for funeral tomorrow, asked me this morning if any small diy jobs. Made a list of 10 items, 9 now done, 1 needs a plumber
4) advent service this morning and we have our provost back hooray
5) advent carols by candlelight this evening. Xoh and I met up with dd1 for a coffee then off to service. Dd1, mum and mr piano all did readings - a real family affair
Hugs to all, and let all your stills be legal (archers lol)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Enjoyed yesterday.
1. Wrapped some Christmas presents listening to Christmas music. I feel more organized now.
2. House still tidy and decluttered more.
3. Went to rugby and both sons came with us. DS1 was in a chatty mood which was good and DS2 was on a winning streak. He caught item thrown into the crowd at half time and won a competition before the match. It was for a donation to movember. He won a fleece and two nice books.
4. We also just managed to win. Always season ticket holders around us were there so a good match.
5. Saw MIL. She is no further forward but hadn't become worse.0 -
Some pleasures for the weekend,
DM was staying with us for a few days so pleasure of taking her a morning cuppa in bed and having our customary "put the world to rights " chat whilst she drank it.
Drive out to local farm shop, stocked up freezer with meat, all local and you can see what you are getting.
Another win for the U's, steady progress up the league.
Sunday morning ritual of bacon butties whilst listening to Archers, RT storyline drags on and he is now pantomime villain, enough now.
SC braising steak and mash for tea, DM has handed on her 1970's crock pot, still going strong0 -
1) wonderful news from a very dear friend that an offer has been accepted on the house she loves, so happy for her and her family.
2) This beautiful sunny day, walking beside the river in drifts of leaves, meeting nice dogs and their owners in the park and seeing 3 roe deer in the wilderness field.
3) Finding some brightest of blue Alkanet flowers in bloom under an old oak tree in a sheltered sunny spot.
4) Saw a linnet on the chicken track, and a jay yesterday, I think the wild birds are coming into the village areas for food.
5) Some winter jasmine tumbling over a wall in brightest yellow bloom, in the sun it was magnificent.0 -
MrsLW I miss-read that as ...waking beside the river in drifts of leaves,
sorry
Pleasures
1. after hours of agonising and decision making I have finally decided to move energy suppliers with the help of kind people on the energy board
I have switched tariff for free with my existing supplier to one with no exit fee and I can then start a switch to a new provider tomorrow without paying an exit fee. Will have to be careful with energy use until the switch as the new exit fee-free tariff is more expensive, but the exit fees were £60 so hopefully I will save some money this way
2. roast chicken dinner this evening with DS before he set off on night shift
3. need to reduce energy use so my heating is now off ! I've also been round the house and turned everything off including the microwave ... every little helps
4. Its very cold outside tonight and there is going to be a frost by the morning, but I've got my windscreen ice cover on my car so I shouldn't need to scrape it in the morning
5. off to bed. goodnight all x0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
House sale OCT 2022 = NOW MORTGAGE FREE 🤗

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A very broken up sleep, with both smaller son and smaller cat sleeping very nicely beside me!
2) Work went OK. Normal timetable cancelled (for me) so had some unusual lessons with different people, which went quite well. Printed out and pretty much finished the coursework I did over the weekend.
3) Conquered washing up mountain (none done since Saturday so there were no plates left!) Bigger son hoovered.
4) Popped out to get a new kettle, using some of £50 voucher I got for Currys when updating my phone. How nice to have a kettle that cuts out when it has boiled!
5) Sainsburys man came. Smaller said, "Can I have a Buckingham? No, a Lancaster star?" Me, "A Lebkuchen?" "Er, yes". :-)
6) Watched I'm a Celebrity.
In bed now and have just decided to have an allergic reaction to something (don't know why it tends to happen in the evening) so I shall lie here with my tiny eyes and puffy face listening to Sorry I Haven't a Clue!0
