So a more positive attitude towards a trifling 8 hours at work seemed to make the difference. I went, I worked , I muttered complaints a few times . I made banana and chocolate muffins, chocolate cupcakes and mini chocolate cupcakes for Fathers Day tomorrow : to give out to the daddies and a tray of brownies. Enough staff on to allow this to happen ,I stayed in kitchen rather than trying to be everything to everyone.

OH felt bright enough to come in on train and then we headed out for late lunch. I had a BLAT and he had ricotta pancakes.

    Did grocery shop.

Made spag Bol for kids tea, should be enough for tomorrow too.

Need to go and pack a tiny suitcase , 7kg allowance.

Have a great weekend....my alarm clock is going off at 3.30am
  • Frith Minds me of the diabetes truck at salt mine. All went to give it a go. Quick !!!!! and results. All eyes were on Kev, about 66. Ears were pinned. Greg, who pushed the weights every dinner, fit as a fiddle was eager to see who would .. Kev came out. Normal. I went inn and out, normal. Greg. Oh buffer me .. Type 2!

5 Town was off last eve. BoPsie fancied home made ham egg chips. So we had snorkers egg and chips innstead! Wobbleades were consumed as well. Glawster rugbe was watched. Oh well! Good job not inn town. All is well.

4 Snorker fest for breakfast munched, with fresh mushrooms, SpagYETTI hoops, star grilled toms. Hot buttered toast with marmite, topped with poached egg. Tea, loose leaf, was drunk. Emergency toast and seeded raspberry jam was also wolfed down.

3 Off to rugby today for the paper. More later. Bun maybe purchased. Concentrate of orange with eau de faucet bottled ready to go.

2 Nite we could have another Marylin, the secon this week. Well BoPsie did have a Cary Grant this week. Did not a thing for BoP! Mind you saw Goodnight sweetheart last night. Thought it was poor. It could had been far better, as he disappeared when he saved, unfortunately Atlee, then he could had come back in November 1963! Typical BBC carp. That's my one hour this week done.

Today is now, tomorrow is the future

    Some pleasures for Friday,

Day off :j leisurely breakfast of buttery scrambled eggs on toast

Trip out to BurySEd, popped into farm shop on way back, overpriced on some things but decent butcher who knows his stuff.

Started sorting through clothes ready for change in season, scarves and gloves washed and coat out to be cleaned.

Caught up with some of our recorded programmes including Pru and Timmy on the canals, it was the episode when they explore the waterways of Holland, have never been but now added to list.

Herby Lincolnshire snorkers for tea with SP wedges.
  • 1) Deciding NOT to go shopping today but to make this weekends meals from things in the fridge, freezer and cupboards. I made bottom of the fridge soup and cheese scones for lunch and I've defrosted salmon fillets for chipotle salmon for supper served with a sweetcorn (from the allotment) salad and an avocado from the fruit bowl.

    2) DD1 phoning and offering us tickets for a couple of rugby games one of which involves SARACENS!!!!

    3) A nice nights sleep in our own bed.

    4) Making an apple crumble today from the windfalls, no waste can only be good.

    5) Nice cuppa and a piece of cake this afternoon knowing I don't have to go out again today and can snuggle down in my armchair and read my book, bliss!

Oh wow, the Levellers, I loved them (and probably would now too! Might have to Youtube them once I finish wallowing in 80s nostalgia :) )

    1. Insect day (going to keep that in my lexicon, thanks :) ) was awesome - very laid-back, talk about the school's vision (basically happy kids and staff mean fun learning which will mean we can better tick the NC boxes for Ofsted), innunendo bingo and learning about how to use technology more in classroom, very invigorating and FUN :)

    2. I managed to get another small set of drawers and shelves for my classroom so there's more of a chance of me keeping my plans and resources organised than there was beforehand! (I'm so messy and have come from a classroom with TONS of storage so was panicking slightly)

    3. Night out with DD to an appointment for her, whilst I sat in the car and squinted at my phone as I'd forgotten my glasses! Annoyingly, my eyes then refused to focus on anything for a while, which made driving impossible.......getting older's a beggar!

    4. Glass of prosecco when I got back :)

    5. Met up with DD's BFF and her family this morning at a local football field and had a great chat and play with their dog, then realised what a small world it is when another mum who BFF's mum had said hello to came over and asked me if I was Ms Kittikins.......then I noticed the smiling child beside her, who's going to be one of my cherubs from Monday :) She and her hubby were lovely and I remembered her daughter being a sweetie too on transition day.

    6. Managed to renew my library books before they went overdue.

    7. NSD so far and I doubt I'll leave the house again today as I have a ton of mess to try and clear in my room (again) so unless I go mad online, I'll keep my purse shut!

    8. DD's 2 pairs of netball trainers finally arrived. Phew! They fit as well!! This is the third delivery we've had over the summer, as the other 2 orders haven't fit, and I appear to only be able to buy netball trainers (different cut around the ankle to standard trainers, much needed with DD's weakness in that area) online.

    9. Looking forward to chickpea curry for dinner tonight...

    10. And to watching a Gene Wilder film for movie night.

This was on the radio this week talking about just that - along the lines of "first of all the banks are all about security and then they invent contactless cos people can't be bothered to punch in 4 numbers" :p

    Have a lovely time, Mhags

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. Managed to get the bathrooms cleaned
    2. Walk in the rain to the station - went half an hour early to get some chores done in Birmingham. Which included spending some vouchers so new shirt and jumper purchased. My kind of shopping, very brief, on the way to somewhere else and hardly cost anything :rotfl: A couple of unexpected cheques added to holiday stash (I save coins under 50p and any unexpected money like divis from shares - which this time amounted to £6.35 :rotfl:)
    3. Generally ok train journey, got lots done.
    4. DD had a bout of food poisoning or norovirus - can never tell which - and did look poorly, bless her. Not a pleasure - the pleasure was that i could go and look after her, even if it was only hugs
    5. Didn't want to cook stinky food given that she was ill so OH and I had jacket spuds, cheese and beans. Cheap and 'licious as long as the cheese is under the beans.

Have a lovely evening - DD is better today so we are going out for dinner...
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Mchags: The jewellery is incredibly romantic.
Mrs LW: Aw congrats to your DD, I think I missed the back storey but fingers crossed going forward.
VJsmum: things with those symptoms look so alike, glad she's feeling better.

    1. Our antivirus software needed renewing so DH went looking for coupons and managed to get 30% off, my MSE ways have rubbed off…:money:
    2. A nice online chat with a new friend.
    3. Was sorely tempted to avoid shops altogether but we needed some vitals. All the roads around us thou where snarled due to various problems on the 4 major roads around, so we pondered back roads through to a nice town we now has great cheap shops and an amazing fruit and veg stand and caf!. So loaded up with a vast marrow, chinese lettuce, toms, strawberries and bananas we went back to the car for the 2nd round. We had to check prices in shops as we haven’t been for a while but replaced some cheap odds and sods de-scaler and things like that. We stopped in at the caf! that we haven’t been to for 2 months and got served “our usual” without even ordering…:rotfl:
    4. Flyer into Lidl, only picked up fresh bread and salad, ohhh cough, cough and an ever so soft colourful fleece, which will be an under blanket in the caravan, before getting turned into animal bedding during its life.:o:o
    5. At home with a cuppa, and thinking about going through the wardrobe time to throw some and pack some away for the seasons.:)

WATCH OUT TOWN! THE BOP'S HAVE PAINTING TO DO

Lovely catchup with all of you.

On list: The North. Melvyn Braggs

    * Quoye told her mother, when asked, 'throat hurt and God bless you'. DD1 pondered this for a few miniature and realized Sequoia thinks a sneeze is called God bless you. Well, it made sense when she realized that is what they say to her every time she sneezes. :rotfl:

    * Cleaning out the refrigerator freezer (me too Skint) and making new dishes with what is frozen. It's a beginning. I don't even want to think about the two full freezers in the workroom.

    * Started watching The Fall. Fast forwarding through the steamy parts. :p

    * Labor Day sales. It's a US thing. Online shopping at 50% off plus a coupon code. Quoye now has too much of everything for fall. (I had to stop myself!!)

    * Back as far as eating right. Slipped and fell for a moment. Back in the saddle again.... (Can't watch cooking shows.)

    * Cooler days. The rain has come and gone. Who knows when it will be back again. UV exposure was at 9 today with extreme being 11+. Back to normal.

Mrs LW we thought Sequoia was a pretty but very unusual name. DH and I were on the fence about it but now, knowing her, it's just right.
Note to BOP: More porridge less snorkers for sterling numbers. Oh my! Did I write that out loud?:D:cool::rotfl:
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Quick pleasures for today as tired now!

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sister and niece came over this morning. Got the wooden train track out and some books (niece is 1.5) but she most enjoyed playing with tins from the kitchen.

    3) Went out for lunch with them at nearby farm shop.

    4) After they'd gone, gave the living room a proper tidy up and dusted plus cleaned the windows.

    5) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    6) Brother came back here to see the new garden bits and play on the Xbox with smaller son.

    7) Chips from the van for tea.

    8) Watched Casualty.
