  • Welcome to job hunting, I applied for a role today, with an almost immediate call back to find its not 12 months as advertised it’s 4 and it’s for with a slightly different and of course smaller rate, why can’t they just tell the truth, ah well I still went ahead with it.

    1. Put the bins out on the right day.:p
    2. More washing loads hung out, on and away.
    3. The usual monthly bills have gone out, and on that note I had also better get myself into gear to sort out some work…:rotfl:
    4. Some proper deep cleaning achieved, topped and tailed the bathroom and bedroom and vacuumed the upstairs, but my back was spasmed and hurting a lot so had to stop, I will do downstairs tomorrow.:)
    5. Went around gathering seeds that where falling off a very tall pretty plant, why is it all things gardening at the moment seem to involve getting prickled and stung.:o
    6. The chap who runs the book stall at the steam fair left his stock when leaving, walking away from it as he seems to each year. While away I started reading Terry Prachett the wee free men and got quite into it. I was planning the next one to read when part of what he left was his complete works, I waited but no one wanted it so I snaffled it and a couple of other books. Tidied away onto shelves here now.:)
    7. We’ve been home since Tuesday and we still haven’t been shopping yet, but we will have to get some basics on Saturday.:)
  • Lovely to read of lots of exciting upcoming travels
PK & KK.... I feel your pain  Hope your backs are feeling better soon x
    Todays Pleasures
    1. just ordered my free wildflower seeds via MSE moneysaving email :money:
    2. sunny afternoon no rain forecast so pottered in the garden and put weedkiller down in the alley at back of house. (Not so happy to see someone has dumped a computer chair and shopping basket out there  )
    3. afternoon nap :o
    4. texts with friend haven't seen for ages arranging to meet up

    5. have managed to debug my old netbook long enough to email to myself some photos that were stored on it before it crashed again. Have spend the afternoon reminiscing

Hugs DD , enjoy writing your new script on those fresh pages x

    1. Sunshine!

    2. After finding it hard to sleep last night, I went in to my new school to attempt to finish off preparing the classroom! Struggled with IT issues but caught up with a couple of people and feel quite readyish for Monday. Gulp. Back in tomorrow for Inset shenanigans...

    3. Yummy Yorkshire puds for dinner, nom.

    4. Cuddles with DD, she was very happy this evening.

    5. Have arranged a night out with a chum next week. Going to try harder this year at having a work/life balance of sorts......just like I tried last year, lol. Hopefully with a shorter commute and the prospect of fewer classroom stresses, it might be more achievable.

    6. Fabulous haircut at my cheap and cheerful hairdressers, I feel rather glam for the start of term now!

Quick pleasures for today as I have to be up early tomorrow :-(

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons got their hair cut.

    3) Got 3 chestnut beams from Ebay.

    4) Bigger son and I spent all afternoon finishing our work in the garden. Now have a new raised bed!

    5) Put the wild strawberries and rhubarb plant in the allotment.

    6) Hens well.

    7) Played a couple of games of football with smaller son.

    8) Smaller son made a tray of fairy cakes and we watched Great British Bake Off from yesterday.

    Work tomorrow...
  • Firth my DD1 is not so patiently awaiting her dark bantams first eggs. They are 19 weeks old now so hopefully soon? They are such nice girls and are so gentle with Quoye (age two) Just a wonderful experience for her. These are DD1's first hens. Sequoia named them Wiggle and Wobble. One is very brave and the other is a rather shy girl.

Empathy for all bad backs!!! Hurray for great haircuts!!! (Especially when it's inexpensive and in a pleasant atmosphere). Skint that is quite wonderful that you recovered photos!!

    * Blessed rain and for Most of the afternoon!!

    * Rain makes naps better! Ask me how I know... :j

    * House cleaned this morning (that also makes naps better :D )

    * Toby dog is hanging in there. I carried him out by the side door for him to potty and that renegade tried to take off! I was chasing him across the yard in my night gown and finally caught him before he got to the street. Thankfully! This dog can barely walk but he had those front legs a going ninety miles an hour and the back ones trying to keep up and not go out from under him. So much for keeping him from moving too much! ;)
Once a rascal, always a rascal!!

    * I paid bills too. Always a great feeling. Two more payments and the car will be paid for! :T
I'm then moving that payment to the pickup, to pay it off early.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

    For yesterday
    1) 1st of the month brought the first geese flying over. i love the noise and the sight (though the noise does sound like they need some wd40!)
    2) we had 2 appointments approved in the nick of time for interviews yesterday (was always going to be at least 1). fingers crossed they both accept
    3) got stuck into writing my next booklet - getting started with equality and diversity. needs finished for 15th (and sudden memory of someone recommending a free online course which i completed - such a good thread this!)
    4) chatted to dad on the phone on the way home. Always forget to use my 'free' minutes talk, and this way used the time very efficiently.
    5) home to portion 4 of slow cooked pork. that should have been it but, due to padding out with beans, still a portion for tonight yum

    Pleasures for yesterday,

Warm, sunny day but not that humid, stifling heat of high summer.

Last day of work this week and now only two weeks left, positively skipped out of the place.

Finished varnishing swing seat and now just the shed to do in prep for winter. Once that's done will start looking around the house for what's needs sorting

Lovely evening walk with the girls, I needed a cardi as temperature dropped a tad but cooler weather suits my big girl as she was positively sprightly :j

Early night and went to sleep relatively quickly, woke at 2am but dropped back off which is rare these days.

gggrr re the job PK why can't people just be honest!
Hurrahs for Toby dogs resilience and getting bills paid early Mila
KK good plans for new start, always feel that start of Autumn is more appropriate that NYE for resolutions etc
Hurrah for DS :T test passing VJsmum
