World Travellers amongst the flock! Couple of 99's on the way! Get in, if you want more than a rascal!
5 At the rehab last day. They were on about this and that. Next week should be interesting, it is the cholesterol one. Hmmm. Sits in corner and larfs! Oh!
4 Off to the quack clud today to see the cardiologist. Sits, pnders what the cholesterol will be this time! I know, never knowingly been over 5! Last year 4.1, with 2.7hdl 1.4ldl. Now he wants less than 4 and a 25% reduction. Ah. How do you get lower when you are low. Expects fight. Note to readers. Usual rules apply. It will hurt him more than it hurts me!
3 Now them lime prawns so recently had instead of the chicky of stick. Well guess what. The Chicky Sticky is back, so watch this space. More tomorrow after snorker fest!
2 PM2Mila. Red paint is on hand again! Town it is. HEC will be woldfed down along with a wobbleade or two!
Make sure you damp down the ovens

Was thinking when walking dogs this morning (i know, dangerous thing thinking!) that now xoh has gone and I don't drive (I can i just don't) i will need to get taxis to and from band practice (it's a pleasant 45 minutes walk without a heavy accordion, nigh on impossible with). just trotting back to office via main concourse of a hospital after teaching and there was a man pulling a trolley that looked ideal for helping me out. he couldn't remember where he'd got it, said to look up collapsible trolleys on argos or amazon which i am now doing - bewildering array. Anyone here got any experience / recommendations?MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

DD, lots of experience with the fold up square trolley we use one around the steam fairs. My main recommendation is go for one that has the square pull out handle rather than the rounded one as the round ones have much shorter handles. I bought one for the MIL recently it was this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00498TZFK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 hoping the link works ok. Our one has been modded with large golf wheels as we inevitably use it in weird and wonderful places.0

1. A sneaky lay in, well not that sneaky I knew we wouldn’t be up with the larks.:p
2. We travelled all be it very slowly thank you to the motorway traffic to dads, just in time to meet the Mr T delivery now there is a piece of luxury I could easily get used to! Just packed it all away for him and it was all complete and good.:T
3. Caught up with DFs friend who was doing various checks for us while we were away, and I’ve just used Amazon to deliver some luxury chocolates and his favourite whiskey to his door tomorrow to prevent any embarrassment.:D
4. Yet more washing but having to dry inside as it is apparently raining here but wasn’t over at DF’s. So the line items are all soggy as well.
5. The fridge has nothing left in it other than the makes of an omelette, there will have to be some shopping tomorrow or well I guess egg mayo.:rotfl:0 -
Good ( very early ) morning from Saturday , it's that joyous day of the week I go to work she says trying to put a positive spin on it
So Friday was a pleasant enough day ( after a momentary wobble of emotions first thing ).
Went into work town and met for lunch with ex main colleague. Had a lovely catch up with her, she very kindly paid for lunch as I had very kindly bought her flowers.
Took my and OHs wedding bands into jewellers in work town , these had been cut off both our fingers years ago ...for different reasons ...mine was weight gain , from being a slim bride to a not so slim one! He had fallen on his hand and had to get his ring cut off as his hand was swelling very badly . So they've sat together in a little bag in a little jewelllry box . They are now being melted together with a bit more gold added and becoming a new ring for me that will fit round the shape of new tanzanite ring. I had , had an amount I wanted to spend in my head and this is just slightly more so have said yes. New ring should be ready in a week. The jeweller is an independent one and the owner a customer of mine at cafe . They've got some gorgeous stuff if you have lots of money and lots of fingers!
Went to work town florist and got a bunch of roses and a bunch of ranunculus split into two bouquets of flowers , one for me and one for friend.
Had popped into work ( didn't want to but felt I should) was told the man from the newsagents had been asking for me....then when I went back in on way home( to grab teatowels) he had actually been down and asked for my number ! Slightly intrigued I had enough time before my train so went up to see him. A few months ago he was looking for staff which I had inquired about ....anyway he doesn't have a job for me but knew someone who was looking for someone and thought of me, which was nice but no thanks! I really don't want a full time job in the kitchen of another cafe! I don't feel I can offer my services with my home situation and I don't want to work in a cafe kitchen particularly! ...however, I did offer my services of doing some visual merchandising for him on an ad hoc basis. So shall see if anything comes of that.
Also had a look in some of the other shops in work town ( it's not a cheapy town at all) as I had time to spare before meeting friend and I cannot believe the prices of clothes! $125 for a blooming teeshirt! Seriously , why? On way home from train I popped into op shop and got a nice green dress/ long jumper thingy for a whole dollar...that's more like it!
We had thai food for tea. It was very yummy. Went to bed early and fell asleep easily then woke up and couldnt get back to sleep and have tossed and turned most of night. Got up at 4.30am .
Right, onwards and upwards , shall do a bit of pottering for half an hour before I head out. It's a bit drizzly at the moment. Hoping for a good shift then home to pack my little suitcase! Have emailed hotel and asked if we can leave bags in a secure room, as we will get to Sydney at 7am and don't check in until 3pm...no problem!0 -
Evening everyone, just back from a few lovely days with the DDs.
MILA we thought of you and yours yesterday, we went for a walk around a lovely Garden in Worcestershire and they had some SEQUOIYA trees, huge long established beauties in the wooded part of the garden and I explained to my Nell that your tiny GDD calls herself Quoye because it is her name, much taken was my DD at that!
1) A smashing day with DD1 yesterday visiting a beautiful garden at Batsford in Worcestershire, well worth going.
2) Supper out at TGI Fridays.
3) Today spend with DD2 and my Zebra child, much fun was had.
4) At DDs suggestion we finished wallpapering the nursery! it looks beautiful.
5) Biggest pleasure of all was DD taking me into the spare room and handing me an envelope with the words 'I thought you'd like to see this' and it was the scan photos of the dear new baby to be. Some test results back and nothing detected in the DNA test and the rest of the results expected next Thursday. He's a sweet little thing and I still have HOPE!0 -

MrsLurcherwalker - ah, not my end of Worcs.
Good idea re: rings, MHags.
BoP - dad of Frith has to keep cholesterol down to almost nothing, thanks to being in heart failure for 20+ years. This peeves him greatly as it never was high naturally anyway!
Pleasures for today (Friday):
1) Got up 3 hours earlier than during the holidays without feeling too awful. Not a bad sleep, considering I don't usually sleep at all before going back to work, even on Sunday nights.
2) Not too bad a day at work. New timetable is marvellous (!) Felt a bit sorry for colleagues with less straightforward ones.
3) Free lunch.
4) Dad picked sons up at 9am (I left one with the hens and one sleeping) and sounds like they had a great day. Brother took them swimming. They also picked plums and made meringues.
5) I left school and met brother up on the main road (half way between school and his house). Both sons then transferred to my car. Bigger son was dropped off at my sister's house where he had another spiffing time, having a roast dinner, playing with my niece then playing board games and on the Xbox with my brother in law. :-)
6) Smaller son and I set off for.... http://www.moseleyfolk.co.uk/ Found it OK, parked a couple of streets away. Got myself a T shirt (first band/festival T shirt I'd bought in decades!) Also a poster of the line up. As smaller son was there, the focus was on eating so we had a posh burger. And waffles. Then he had a hot dog. Then a flapjack and milkshake from another stall. (He grew an inch in August).
We enjoyed the Oysterband and Billy Bragg was great. I think smaller son thought he was Jeremy Corbyn for a while, then Billy added to the confusion by shouting "VOTE JEREMY CORBYN!" as he left! There were smaller/local bands between the bigger names and they were OK apart from one. Then it was the Levellers :-) Smaller son very impressed with the lighting, roadies, violin player and didgeridoo.
7) Then we drove home (not getting lost escaping Birmingham), picked up bigger son on the way. In bed now with 1hwb and a cup of tea.0 -
Oh well, & awake, having just heard Kyle Edmond put Big John out of U.S. Open. This might work from &phone, since all else froze/died way earlier yday......
(Frith, feel somehow responsible if the maggot of mse-mess has burrowed through from &Utah>Frithlands.)
1.......which is a pleasure from the positive, not glorying in decent Isner's loss. Fast maturing young man, big occasion learning curve being v.successfully climbed. Djoko next. & will be delighted if Kyle can do it again.
2. Back at Spitalfields yesterday. Yoke still fits, just about:-) Again taken aback by welcomes, trade and footfall.
Consequence: welcome+ acceptable banking today, DG. Also, 2 deposits taken, with 3fig. balances due next week. & still has the goods:-) Back here 1am=23hr day. So grateful to be able to do this.
3. 3rd try lucky, not>famberley, but to sthn hemi early 50s bezzie (have learnt it now vjm:-)) lovely Her Birfday chat but not long before usual beepbeepbeep signal dropped &phone, as per tiresome usual. But, she had grand news. Hideous settlement blah done, moving down country to our old home town. Wants to help keep touch re: beloved uncle too, remembering him so well from our early 50s childhood.
4. The Woodturner's Suite on r3 quite early, part of a lovely Northern Ireland themed OB.
5. Melvyn Bragg's current R4 programmes on The North. Wonderful. Tis The Wireless again, mila, so worth hearing.

1) teaching face to face. Much as I love the distance learners there's a special energy in face to face
2) there was also a lot of laughter. We were doing 'feedback' and 'teaching a clinical skill' with 4th year medical students. My small group had to teach grapevine, moonwalk, line dancing and making an origami bunny.
3) found coauthor for my getting started in equality and diversity in teaching. Always lik having a coauthor
4) haircut. Fab, and £30 less than my colleague's (!)
5) friend's private opening night for Angus art festival. I bought an oil painting of poppies and butterflies. Felt it very fitting for this weekMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
