  • I haven't posted in a while (but have been lurking :rotfl:) Hope you don't mind me jumping back in...

Everything has started to get back to normal since the summer holidays have come to an end so just my DD and I today which has been great and surprisingly productive!

    1. Had a great morning introducing my DD to finger paints and crayons, she had a great time and didn't try and eat it as much as I thought!

    2. Finished off next months meal plan (we run from 12th - 12th) and now writing the shopping list while small person naps.

    3. Finally got our new passport forms sent off! So now all ready for our trip to NZ in Dec.

    4. Listed some more baby stuff online to try and get it shifted and made some pennies along the way.

    5. Tomato plants going strong in the garden so another panful about to be made into soups, sauce etc and things for the freezer :T

Hope everyone is having a good day!

I have enough money to last me the rest of my life......until I go and buy something!
    :D
  • PM2DD. We know how to throw it away!

5 Just updating videos for the new site. One of Raffles will be there tomorrow. Typical moggie.

4 Cannot believe that it has been only ten days since I got a bag of puffed up wheat and now they are finished. Back to the rice crispies tomorrow. All served with ice cold moo juice and concentrate of orange mixed with eau de faucet.

3 PC crashed and is being rebuilt. Cannot play video, hence delay.

2 England were poor yesterday. New broom, same muck! Oh well.

If you believe that, we have got problems!
  • 1) I have a new filling and thus don't have to spend any more of my life worrying about going to the dentist!

    2) Lovely walk with Cookie this afternoon and because we had rain yesterday there is that lovely autumnal smell of ever so slightly decaying plant matter in the air and also some beautiful perfumed old fashioned bourbon roses scenting the air too, very still and the perfume was intense.

    3) Logs duly delivered this morning which filled 20 wheelbarrowfuls piled high and the log pile is now FULL! we shall NOT be cold this winter Hoorah!

    4) Met a neighbour when I was waiting at the bus stop who adopted a few years ago a beautiful greyhound from Portugal, he was with her and he recognised me and came forward wagging and let me stroke him, given that when he arrived he was so nervous no one could look at him without him reacting it was a joy to see how far he's come in those ensuing years. He's a lovely boy!

    5) No cooking to do tonight as I made shepherds pie yesterday from the leftover pork I cooked in the slow cooker and some leftover mashed potato, jolly good stuff eh?
  • Hi all. Many thanks for the warm welcomes :D

My five for today are : -

1 - Went back to work after a couple of week's leave and as a result, it was an early rise. Sadly, I quite liked that the morning was darker as we move into Autumn. Made me smile cos I love Autumn :)

2 - Remained frugal and took a packed lunch for work; tomorrow's already sorted

3 - Sorted my stuff to let me do a bit of pointing on the front wall of the house - it's all low down stuff and nothing I can't handle.

4 - Having a nice pasta tea with my home made sauce to finish off leftovers. Yum :D

5 - Have a new book to start so after tea will be relaxing and settling in to read it.

    Have a nice night everyone.

Some lovely pleasures here :) Sending my very best wishes and healing thoughts to all here in need.

    My recent pleasures:
    1. The last potatoes are dug and in sacks. Always a job I like to finish.
    2. A real letter was delivered by the postman, it was from my sister in France.
    3. Last night I played 'Thud' with a fellow sir Terry Pratchett fan. I always lose but I love playing.
    4. My brother called in for a cup of tea this morning. As he lives over 150 miles away this was a real, and rare, pleasure. I do miss my extended family sometimes, we are spread all over the world now, so it was a treat to see him so unexpectedly.
    5. More comfort reading. And some Chesterton to leaven the loaf :)

    1. &'s really looking forward to early bed without any justification and don't care. New Library book awaits, total tennis listening and - immodestly she says - some divine h-m icecream, thickly pinky lush from h-g raspberries, mega thick cream, h-m salted caramel and tempered choc concoction worked in. It is yum, as was last night's slow-cooker thingummy.

    2. npd AND nsd.

    3. Researched several finds. A vindication 'YES!' always feels good. Doesn't mean it's yet sold, but it's on the way.

4.. Hand-mending new2& cashmere jumper, freebie yesterday. Re-stitched leather shoe strap, also by hand. Both v. satisfying.

    5. Much reflection on posts here, so

    # mcc - a good thing to have done. Take care.

Good morning from my own bed! Ahhhh! Nice to go away but always better to come home.
The biggest dog welcome ever.....we really did see you yesterday Haggis.

So, we had a lovely day 2 in Sydney.

Checked out of hotel ' did you use anything from mini bar?' ....er, no , chance , even a bottle of water was $8 ( same one you would buy for maybe $2.50)

Walked down past ferry terminals to The Rocks, which is the oldest part of Sydney. Had a wander then found a nice cafe to sit outside and have breakfast. I had pancakes with marscapone and blueberries.
    OH had almond porridge.

Then it was time for him to climb a bridge and me to sit on a park bench ( well 2 benches ...one sunny and one shady when the need arose) under the granite pylon of the bridge. Near the waterfront , so I had a lovely view of the the watery comings and goings which I enjoyed. He was away for 3.5 hours. I sat and read for all that time. Lovely!

Then had a wander back round The Rocks, OH was starving and needed to eat but we were at a time when lots of daytime cafes were closing up and evening ones hadn't quite started. Anyway , we found a pub near the water and had some perfectly fine pub grub.

Then whilst I walked back up to hotel for bag, OH had a bit of a rest , then we went and sat at a cafe, he had a coffee and cake and I read my book and people watched.

Train to airport, read book some more....I'm so nearly finished it.

Flight , shuttle bus to carpark and then home ....sigh! We both felt like we had been away longer than just an overnight.

Looks like lots to catch up on in the house today, so I shall be kept busy enough!
