From the big &utah of 5 parts this time. In working order and fired straight up:-), so that's osp pre.1.
    #
    1. Mrs LW - found this recipe and it's excellent. Used courgette from our lovely Vicar, who was pressing many on all persons Thurs a.m.

Whoever has grown courgettes knows this is soon essential behaviour

    http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/12236/gorgeous-courgette-cake.aspx?o_ln=SimRecipes_Link_5&o_is=SimilarRecipes

and using her girls' lovely eggs. In future, I'll bake it in 2 loaf tins, use lemon or orange frosting/filling for a bit of 'sharp'. Cake taste and texture is excellent.

    2. 2 more of those eggs now hard-boiled for nightly hedgehog visits - assuming Mr and Mrs - after loud racketty snuffly alarums right outside kitchen window the other night. I'd been reading contradictory food Musts and Mustn'ts. However, hard word to hedgehogs is: EAT MORE SLUGS.

Had not realised they are so much endangered now - 66% decrease between 1996-2009 - or so noisy. Did film Mr Big loudly scratching himself under &'s garden seat during last week while & was reading out there. Hardly dared breathe, but they seem not much phased by human presence scented by them. This is recent and sensible:

    and

3.&obile is mended at last, another £152 and another 9hrs yesterday. Driving sans clatter is a relief and fuel economy should return to decent norm. Needs to, after enforced binge consumption since rtn from NZ.

    4. Attended outstanding, strong, intelligent Owen Smith address last night @ CRUFC and hugely pleased. Hundreds crowded in. No more vainglorious, self-indulgent, elderly student time-warpery please, - whilst noting your osp on interaction and discordant views, Mrs Lw :-)
Already cross with r4 this morning, hearing an unrelated reply from last night mismatched to someone in studio for another ? entirely.

Town of Uni rag is a poor excuse for a newspaper, so little better expected there.

OS had not long begun speaking when J.B. Priestley came straight to mind, no bad thing,

    5. re: 4, met many peeps unseen since pre-NZ visit and was struck by united view and support on all of this. At same time, realised venue was one that an Alma acquaintance often caters for+runs bar, in addition to academic career at Uni. So it was last night! :-))) Excellent and another coincidence, because we'd last met, exchanging astonished Greetings as she rode by on very day & was standing with both suitcases by Parkers Piece, awaiting coach to Heathrow, 17 May.
Not only that, but as we caught up, learnt that train crossing+car contretemps mid-afternoon meant A was unsure how she'd get home last night, c.45 miles .....easy peasy. Bike straight into &obile boot over all protests, lovely husband informed and back near midnight, with Olympic listening en route and guided tour around their 1st own house together, moved in last Monday.

    6. TMS and Olympics radio flip-flops make for best sort of quandary. Will catch up watch Simone Biles and glorious Fiji, paddling girlies, Charlotte and Valegro, Sir Brad, diving boys et al, so so many, eventually.

    7. Holiday reading of holidays Frith and PK and kk and vjm is extra good, feeling reserves being topped up elsewhere and memory bank bits being set. vjm - we do similar for Mara. The 11km rape road to fetch water is a thing of past with wells now dug in village and 'school rooms' erected i.e. 4 corner posts and sun-deflecting 'roof.' Pencils, pens, paper, books, material, sewing machines, garden tools, irrigation aids, cultivation aids, attitude-adjusting, all medical and dental everything....all needed, step by step, village by village, constancy. We simply try.

More best wishes on travails front bop. Raffles' multi 100% success rate will rub off.
&utah's now playing up, so will hit send, with happy w/e to all. Loads to do.

Oo this board is buzzing with joyful snapshots of our lives, spread as we are across this strange lump of matter whizzing round the sun (cue monty pythons universe song) so 1 has to be
    1) starting each day reading your pleasures and reflecting on my yesterday pleasures
    2) meeting bgf for a cuppa at work. He didn't bring the Marie kondo book as he's using it, but did buy me a latte so I forgive him
    3) writing my abstract for keynote at conference in Pakistan December. Turns out I have lots of interesting things to say after all phew ;-) hit send button at 7:28pm
    4) lovely phone call from friend in Poland.
    5) book club the husband's secret, a very good holiday read in my view (Capella persuasion is my fave Austen - have you seen the amdanda root Kieran hinds film?) and as all good club of books go, after discussing book (mostly thumbs up, one hated it) followed by much chatting, laughter and some wine and nibbles
Today's job is starting packing xoh's stuff for imminent move down south

  • There you all need to know that!

Again here are the rambling through life of BoP! It was hard getting this far.

5 Town was spray painted red last evening. Noah nibbles were wolfed down, together with copious amounts of wobbleades. Big train there and the Wawster train back one stop! The night was put to rest late. See above!

4 Treader was raced earlier on down towpath. Canal will be lucky to see a raft in my life span. Note to readers, the amount of pills BoP is on, he is going to live forever.bgot that?

3 Breakfast toast and tea was consumed on the Plaza del BoP. It is the biggest patio in the area. Raffles enjoyed his fresh sachet if food as well. Proper tea was used in the pot, as if tea was meant to be in bags, the paper mill would be located next to the plantation.

2 Just now BoP has feasted on a mega Brunchfast. Three snorkers, best back, button rooms of mush, fried tatties, from Sunday. Nice and fresh. Star cut griddles toms. Beans baked in Tom juice. Toast, buttered with marmite topped with air burst poached egg. Rubs Tum. Proper food. Concentrate of squeezed lemon and fresh tap water was drunk, and tea tasted.

The conditions are not too bad, so get out and do it!

Oh it's chilly and I need to get up! It's Sunday morning, birds are singing but it's still dark.

Late night after a very early start for me yesterday, OH spiked a temperature in early hours of Saturday which we managed to get down enough then I had work, then late afternoon he spiked another temperature so into nearest hospital A&E for the evening.
He was transferred to our Cancer hospital late at night. I came home , have managed a bit of sleep and now need to start the day!

Work is done. The pleasure was walking out not walking in!

Haggis pants being the most snuggley dog . He just seems to know when you need a snuggle.

Smiling...because OH immune system is at its lowest at this point of chemo cycle he was given a face mask whilst we waited in A&E ( to be fair we only waited 5 minutes till they got him through, we have a priority card that he must be seen immediately) ...anyway, he looked like a duck! ( he wasn't happy looking like a duck but ducks are lovely :))

Made a rhubarb sponge with rhubarb from the freezer that was from the garden last spring.

Son and dog had came to meet me off train in afternoon when I'd finished work. My 2 lovely boys.

Right , I'd better get up and start the day...think it's going to be a long one :)
