  • PM2DD Gloat then. For me it could not be worse, out laws are villains! Sits in corner and chuckles away!
Waxing of eyebrows! 'Eck! Steam trains, lovely. Watch the cinders in your face. Haircuts and proper grocery shopping. Tins of wobbleades I hope?

5 Just dumped BoPsie at mill. Bin to w8rs and got her some whine! Wobbleades were also purchased. Mushrooms and Saturday brunch sorted.

4 Off on treader last eve. BoPsie's got a puncture and I had only just fixed it as well, walked home. Raffles, upset at not keeping up, deposited another kill in the utility. This morning we have two more. He is still growing.

3 Off to rehab shortly. Should be fun! Not! Usual BoP rule applies. It will hurt then more than it hurts me, see above.

2 Put BoPsie housekeeping on Glawshire last night. Please see previous reports for further financial advisories! Absolute schoolboy errors! Neigh mind, always tomorrow!

Don't forget to get the milk when you're out!

PM to BOP it would be rude not to
(((Mhags and family))) very much in our thoughts and prayers
DfVyour emails are always a pleasure, both the replies to us all but also the updates on your own family's pleasures.
capella your choir sounds great fun
have googled Kimchi vjsmum sounds 'interesting'
Very much focusing on the positives as XOH's departure fast-approaches (28th August)
    1) garage phoned to say they had overcharged us - shouldn't have charged us 2nd MOT test as they did the work so unexpected refund
    2) boss has signed off my costs for Munich conference, yay.
    3) roofer has been - flat roof fine, flashing had come dislodged at one point in storms and now fixed, rhones cleared (that's one for Mhags), 2 plants removed from chimney
    4) 2 dresses to charity shop, bag of rags to rag recycle
    5) friend would like our table football and air ice hockey - my children long outgrew them and her boys are entering that age.
vjsmum are you still kondoing? my gbf is going to lend me the book. i am looking on xoh moving to unfurnished flat as excellent time for us to declutter this house, but have told her not to take stuff she doesn't want.

  • 1) Getting up in the mornings to a greeting from a small black curly hound after you've missed it for over a year.

    2) Scratting apples to make cider on the back lawn, a little elbow grease now gives a nice reward later on and through the colder weather when I can mull the cider on the woodstove, mmmmmmm!

    3) Dehydrator is full of French and runner beans picked this morning and also longways sliced courgettes for lasagnes later in the year.

    4) The new units of double glazing to replace some 'blown' windows have arrived and the builder will fit them sometime soon.

    5) It's cooler today, in fact I'm contemplating long sleeves, haven't done that for a while.

Aw Cappella that pup sounds adorable
Mila I actually laughed out loud at the mouth guard being used as a dog chew :rotfl:

    For yesterday;

Tractor turned up at just gone 7 to pick up bales of straw, crop all gone within few days after so many months of watching it grow / turn colour, the year moves on.

Drive to work taking at least ten minutes less due to it being holiday time, roads are lovely and quiet.

Met up with friend after work. Lovely couple of hours catching up over drinks and treats, sat in the sunny courtyard and come home slightly red! Good news re another friend who, following a nasty fall from her horse, had surgery to pin her vertebrae. We both admitted that hardly ever wear our back protectors but makes you think...

Home and darling Captain S had finally finished off bathroom, looks very "posh"

Leisurely evening walk with the dogs, chatting and catching up on our days as they ambled in and out of the hedges & fields, something to remember on the cold winter nights when we hurry round.

Sorta but its stalled a bit. Largely due to DDs stuff arriving back from uni for the summer.

I am not sure if you ever finish.

I have paperwork and photos to go.

It has changed my life though
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    1. Stop here en rte back most times, free cappu. consumed, and watching "my" teen hares.

    2. Part way able to read these posts=mieux que rien. Pel bk is reading delight and radio 4 "Flâneuses" being read aloud has ensured purchase. Olympic listens through night suit &.
Major rugby 7s failures do not. See I'll have to step up and step in.

    3. Found , "manifold exhaust with flexi pipe" not far away, ready for early start fixits@ fenboys demain. Its all been v. bitsy, but shd be OK after this.
Spitalfields needed definitely but Man Plans God laughs has been order of things since France and before that.

    4. Hares cavorting near and around &mobile as we speak. It is so noisy to drive ATM. Really want that repair fest finished. Will be doing boiled eggs and chopped chicken for &hedgehogs when back, half hour's time, let's say.

    5. Off to hear Owen Smith tmrw night. Hopefully....and hoping.

Mhags - had such a mince pie urge via all your mentions, made a dozen... rather promptly. Many are already consumed.
Holiday is sounding brilliant Frith. I'm so glad.
Good grief>Dr and bop. & actually heard and noted significance of a certain round ball playtime last night.

    * Thai/Asian chicken creation and I used four...count em...four little containers of leftover veggies of various descriptions. DH was a happy man and he hated Chinese food when we married eons ago. My success rate continues to climb this week.

    * You are all very entertaining and write such interesting things and I truly love reading what you post. I smile a lot while doing so.

    * Lengua tacos for lunch out (with DH). My favorite :D but my hunk says
He had a meat and bean tostada and was perfectly fed.

    * Only one dawg in bed last night. And clean sheets to boot! Yippee!! :j:j:j
The grands are back home with their mom. :T:T:T:T

    * DS3 called. He has finally made a great loaf of sour dough bread, revealing the secret is bread flour. I smiled as he told me because I did not realize he was making it with regular flour. He loves to cook and his darling girlfriend/roommate is a happy eater/participant.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

  • Have been home two days and all I seem to have done is washing and cooking !

    1. saw DS for 10 mins as he came in from night shift, ate and went to bed

    2. lawn cut - less like a meadow now

    3. managed two more loads of washing

    4. batch cooked chilli, mozzarella chicken casserole & a tray of cajun chicken. Freezer now stocked again for a week.

    5. went for a walk to the post office to post a birthday card to a friend and walked back past the local pond in the afternoon sun to top up my vitamin D deficiency !

I slept like a log on holiday - in bed by 10pm and a lie in most mornings till 8am. Since I've been home I'm awake at 4am and still awake at 11pm :( Did manage to drop back off to sleep yesterday until DS came in from work so I am off to read a book and hopefully doze off for a bit longer.

    Worked perfectly:)

    Today's pleasures
    1. Jane Austen. Persuasion. I think I first read Pride and Prejudice when I was far too young, and I left the rest of her work on the bookshelf. When I was ill last year I picked her books up again and loved them. I find her tart and refreshing; like a good apple she has, for me, improved with keeping.
    2. Early morning tea. The best drink of the day.
    3. The Olympic coverage. Dressage has been brilliant. All the dancing horses, so skilful.
    4. The spider plants thrive. The toxins in the air here must suit them :)
    5. Watching Babylon Five on DVD last night. With lemon balm and ginger tea. Perfect!
