Wrapped the Christmas tree in a HUGE bin liner ...this is to make putting the tree up in December a bit easier. It will then go back in its box.
Friend from Sydney phoned, nice to chat.
Went for light lunch with DD1 , I had a pumpkin and feta quiche.
Posted a letter to my 9 year old friend.
Borrowed 2 library books.
Bought a nice bunch of orange flowers from florist.
Beef goulash cooking away in slow cooker.
Started decanting boxes in garage...they've been wrapped up for almost 6 years ! Some recycled, some for salvos, some brought in to the house.
Laundry done!
Have a good Friday0 -
Had a super night last night. Good food and a great laugh.
1 – Great night on the xbox chatting nonsense.
2 – Homemade, healthy food. Some left over too!!
3 – Bought 2 Xmas presents yesterday.
4 – Also bought 2 x used books I’ve been after. Will make for great holiday reading.

Happy days.0 -
Pleasures for yesterday :
1) left lovely Switzerland hotel and spent last francs at Victorinox.
2) found a geocache at the station and left our new travel bug.
3) spectacular scenery through the Alps.
4) como apartment ok.
5) went by funicular to Brunate then had about an hour's steep walk up to Volta's lighthouse. We heard crickets and saw bats and 2 mountain goats! Sat up there a while looking for meteorites. A chatty Italian man pointed out various mountains for us. We got up there 9ish and came down 10.30.
We are now in the station ready for Freiburg. We had no idea that the station is a refugee camp. When we walked down the steps yesterday, there were people lying everywhere (it was hot) and smaller son said, "is he dead? Are they all dead?" There are 40 people on the platform behind us under blankets (perhaps 1000 outside) and apart from one boy having a football passabout with smaller son, they ignore us. They have a few tents and a generator with dozens of phone chargers. Very sad.0 -
Enjoying a coffee sitting in the garden in the sun listening to the birdsong and the bees. Idyllic.
Enjoying the fresh veg from the garden which we had with fish on Tuesday as DS2 was staying at my sisters as he was working there. He came home pleased with what he earned. She is happy paying him the going rate if he works for it.
Watching the Olympics. Enjoyed sevens and Fiji display of how to play the game. DS1 had been at school with one of the British team.
No work until Monday. I feel that more is expected of me than I want to give. I can't always finish what I do now in my working week so why would I want to do more as I enjoy the core parrof the job but dislike the admin stuff around it.
Neighbour daughters 21st party not too loud on Wednesday night.
Marvelling at how the plants grow so quickly and produce such quantities of flowers/ veg from such tiny seeds in a short time span.0 -
That was a PM2 BoPsie
5 Now I am not going to have a go with anyone in particular. But, it is written on the packet. And some of you lot should know better by now. Don't upset the BoP!
4 Now we have an understanding inn the matter, good! Was at the rehab of cardio last day. BP was 111/68 No problemo there then. Jenny was beside herself! Now all I need is the ... It is like hasing more lead in thye old pencil.
3 Another call today about a job and in Bristol this afternoon. Wears me tie! Boots are polished like mirrors.
2 Nite is Fryday Town is lacking in red paint! I also have got the fuelled de BoPsie chilling inn the refrigerator. Woobleades are to be sourced. If yous are about, I will be on the big Warster Train later! Note to readers, BoP will not get as far as Warster! He not get as far as Glawster either!
PM2DD #UTM and you can get off the chair now! I have noted the same to the Villa fans!
Inappropriate behaviour will be dealt with!0 -
Enjoying reading through every ones pleasures.
For yesterday
We spent the day on a beach, waking bare foot in the sand. Paddling then walking to the end and back again. We watched waves crashing in over rocks and surfers learning. I love being near the see its where I relax the most.:o
I cooked in the van and at about midnight we went out and spent an hour watching the meteor showers, the universe put on an amazing display I have never seen anything quite like it.:T:)
A late start this morning and we are off out to see an auction preview this afternoon. Always interesting.0 -
1) Hearing from my little pal FUDDLE after quite a while, poor girlie has been poorly and it's really nice to have her back again!
2) The interactions on MSE, the fact that people do disagree and throw different points of view and perspectives in to any debate going on, it's good and really helps to see problems and solutions from all aspects.
3) More apple donations, more apples scratted, more cider guggling away in the fermentation vats and someone has just offered He Who Knows access to a disused 30 tree orchard.....are they MADDDDDD???
4) Washing dried on the line and I am just going to get it in, I just love how line dried washing smells.
5) NO COURGETTES TODAY!!!!!0 -
Guten Abend von Freiburg!
Pleasures for today:
1) another scenic mountainous train journey from Como to Freiburg.
2) hotel OK.
3) lovely time looking around - had crepes then went to another stall for wurst! Eaten outside Cathedral. Went inside and it was all lit by candles.
4) used the new funicular to go up the Schlossberg.
5) sons enjoyed the garden (Rosenplatz??) and fountains.
6) back to square 8pm-ish and they had an older man oompah style band!
7) popped to Aldi.
8) sons are in bed watching Toy Story.0 -
1. Sunshine and picnics!
2. Went down to our old Sussex village to meet up with a lovely chum and her children - we've not seen them in nearly 2 years, way too longbut
we had a very jolly time, with lots of laughs.
3. DD and I enjoyed cooking last night for a friend who came over to our kitty-cuddling house for dinner. She brought pudding, nom, and we ate, chatted, played cards and it felt so much like old times, we were so sociable when we lived on our own.....*sigh*
4. We may have our next house-sitting gig for October half term, fingers crossed that our dates coincide! She's kindly offered her house, complete with one little goldfish who needs our gentle care
5. Saw another lovely old friend briefly down in sunny Sussex. We must get back there before too long....but I do worry that DD then will get her rose-tinted spectacles on and start pining more. She forgets the not so great bits like us always hunting for dented tins, selling my belongings to keep paying the bills etc...
6. Had a great drive there and back and thankfully were on the right side of the road each time when the other lanes were chokka with cars. Yippee!
7. Got home to big cuddles from our dog0 -
* DH has ravaged a Navajo taco, salad and a huge piece of pumpkin pie with sweeten whipped cream (an American favorite). When he came in tonight his eyes lit up at the sight of my cooking efforts. Makes me happy.

* DH cooks breakfast every morning. He know how I like my eggs!
* Weather is cooling off and that will help my electricity bill! Less need for the air-conditioner to run so often.
* Mystery plants in the veg garden are finally blooming. I forgot what I planted. Soon we shall see.
* The concrete guy finally showed up to fill the long trough in my floor that the plumber made when replacing the drain. My husband kept calling him.Overprepare, then go with the flow.
