Some pleasures for the weekend,
Waking up in my own bed on Saturday morning " it's oh so nice to go travelling" ...
Dropped Mum off home, felt sad driving away from her but cheered myself up by listening to Deadringers on the way home.
Caught the YS action at W8rose at just the right time, loads of bargains inc some yummy salmon pate reduced to 35p :j
Bacon buttie on Sunday morning, girls had a rasher each as well.
Started one of my bargain books by author have not read before, Judith Lennox. Good yarn but if you are going to set it in East Anglia at least spell dyke the correct way, none of that American dike thanks!
Took my lovely lad for a saunter up the lane, not the same walking beside but making the most of it, the sun was out for once.
Meal out with the hollow-legged SS's for Fathers Day in the evening, apparently it's called banter now not taking the michael, learn something every day.0 -
A day off, woohoo! When I was working I had two days off each week, since retiring I seldom seem to get a whole one.
1. It's good to stay busy, a lie-in is a once weekly treat and every day is different
2. Prepped a buffet for 25 for a friends' wedding anniversary garden party. Not a beige dish in sight and came in well under budget, and it didn't rain all afternoon
3. The flower bulb on the elephant garlic appeared so it's been broken off, patience is not my strong point but now I have to wait until the leaves brown before I can dig it up and see what treasure lies beneath - if anything!
4. An odd patch of soil at the bottom of the garden now has a neat little brick retaining wall to match the garden wall which backs it, and is a mass of colour thanks to the over-purchase of bedding plants earlier in the month. I have no restraint in garden centres...
5. Hospital visiting this afternoon, thank God for the NHS which has saved the life of one friend and successfully operated on another.
Have a sunny evening whatever the weather - it's lovely here this afternoon0 -
Pleasures for today and last couple of day:
1) Land Registry paperwork arrived. House now in my proper name and is named under its OWN proper name!
Phew Frith what a relief for you !
(((Hugs))) to MHags & PK best wishes to your OH's & SpekySquarehead and any other poorlies
1. girls night out Friday at local  much needed chat and laughter
2. lots of washing done at weekend and felt well enough to tackle a few cleaning jobs which I've been putting off - hoovering stairs etc
3. since DS got attacked at work last month and ended up in A&E the quote for his travel insurance for trip in September has now doubled  as he has to declare hospital treatment in last 12 months and all his other medical conditions that did not need to be declared before .... he should have bought it when did initial quote & would not have had to change it for single trip. However, pleasure to remember is that he's healed and long term health not affected
4. did some batch cooking chilli, Moroccan lamb, chicken & mozzarella casserole meals now frozen for DS who works shifts
5. watching the starlings on the field opposite my house - theres loads of them chasing what must be some small bug things running the grass
Specialist appointment on Wednesday - hoping for some resolution to ongoing thyroid issues0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Pondering if I should trade houses with SpekyS and go look up my Scottish ancestors side of the family.
I could run around to church grave yards and look through parish records and you could lie by the pool getting a tan and visit Carlsbad Caverns National park, which is twenty minutes from here. (You would have just missed President Obama and his family which were there last week)
You would have to water daily or my garden would burn up. But the margaritas and Mexican food would make up for your having to do a bit of watering.
* The birds have finally found the bird feeder that has been hanging outside my window since it was gifted to me at Christmas!!! It sat full for months but now that they have found it they are steadily working on it and now it's down to half. Such a joy to watch them!
* The insurance adjuster came and was really a nice person. Always a big plus when one's kitchen floor is being dug up. Now if the plumber would just come back.
* Three big fat tomatoes and two cukes from the garden to be made into Israeli salad.
* Lemon and fresh mint iced tea!!
* A break from cooking as the floor in the kitchen being torn up precludes any such thing.:);)
My heart goes out to those of you who need arms wrapped around you.
Special prayers for Mhag and Capella's husbands being said today from New Mexico.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

My pleasures for today
1. Being able to help dsd move house.
2. Lovely sunshine this afternoon.
3. Suitcase packed for quick visit up north to visit family.
4. More roast beef for dinner.
5. Hot milk before bed.0 -
Quick pleasures for today as tired.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Work not as bad as it was last week.
3) Mum and dad went to smaller son's school to see the upper school he is going to move to (the school is on 2 different sites). I've never been sure they actually believe he has autism and the open morning was to look around the communication centre (on the end of the mainstream school). It's very obvious that is what it is, with codes to get in, separate work stations (like voting booths), their own kitchen and garden etc. The talk was about provision and alternative timetables but they seemed to survive it!
4) I went to the same thing but later in the day and it was interesting, free cup of tea and, when I got back to the car, the famous school cat had gone to sleep in the gap between the bonnet and the windscreen wipers! She/he is one of those cats you can pick up and it remains resting and stretched out (like a stick) and I had to put her on the drive in the same position. I did a bit of stroking just so people walking by wouldn't think I had killed her! She never did move.
5) Went to see the hens - 2 eggs today. We moved their run onto some fresh grass.
6) Brother came up and we watched the England game though the Wales one was so much better!
7) Off to Wales on Saturday to watch their next match - not as exotic as it sounds as it is half an hour away.0 -
Sorry no pleasures for the weekend, it was nice just lacking time, it was very busy both days not to bed until 3am.
1. Work day done no dramas for once.:p
2. Washing loads up to date.
3. Nails looking neat and polished.
4. It will be an odd tea of paella and sausages to make sure things don’t go to waste but it was ok:)
5. We popped out to l$dl as else no brekkies or lunches available.:o
DH is off for x rays tomorrow, very local I have to be at work/0 -
5 No problem. They're on their way home. Nothing since Leon, 14th June 1970. This remark could change! Wobbleales were wasted.
4 The camera bag washed out after another season. Ready! More later.
3 Bit early today as we on six tablets now. Only a week off the LAD kink being soreted. Remember rule 1. It will hurt them more than me. See BoP notes passim. Oh, and Jenny is on max! :heartpuls
2 Day up north. BoPsie's GodFather is being put to rest.
Please act responsibly while reading this, especially if you are on the John!0 -
1 – My bed. Super comfortable.
2 – Sleep. Had an undisturbed night, something I take for granted.
3 – Sport. I honestly love all sport. Wither I participate or watch, it’s great. Healthy and competitive.
4 – Democracy. Like it or loath it, the Brexit campaign shows how passionate we are about our country and how we get a chance to change that.
5 – Strawberries. My favourite.
Have a lovely day everyone.0 -
Just saying ...hurrah for no more work for 25 days! yaaaaas!
Free trip on train, was very busy as previous one didn't run however I did manage to get a forward facing seat. Was pouring with rain first thing then actually brightened up but with the iciest wind that would cut you in two.
Another busy shift, had a big catering do to cater for. Boss very kindly gave me an $80 voucher for my fundraiser.
Train home .just made it as I'd left my travel pass in kitchen at work and had to walk back up the hill and then dash back down the hill to the station.
Having pies and beans for tea.
Around 10pm your time tonight please think your most positive thoughts , we will be at hospital.
Have a good day0
