Thankyou for continued thoughts and prayers and my best wishes to all the other poorly people and poorly husbands/ partners.

Very early Multi Disciplinary Team meeting or MDT as we know it by. Hospital at 7.30am , I think you know you've done this too often when you're waving hi as familiar staff walk past the door . So we are taken to a room in clinics with OHs name on door and then we are bombarded by teams of doctors from 4 different specialties , radiologists, speech pathologists, nutritionists, nurses , most of them we know now but having to say the same thing over again. In and out they come and at times it's quite overwhelming and then we are left alone for half an hour or so whilst they all gather in a board room and discuss. News is not good. Biopsy tomorrow to confirm a diagnosis that we 99.9% know .

So the plan is holiday as planned and looked forward to. As one of our nurses said today we can't change what will happen so go and make the most of our holiday. Every single person we met today was so lovely and kind.

Bit of a flood in waiting area.....water pouring through the ceiling into 3 wheelie bins! Had to sit in darkness after MDT whilst they sorted out tomorrow appointment for us....water had poured through the light fittings.

Meanwhile DD2 was having a bad day at school and texting me and phoning me in a state, emailed school and it was dealt with straight away?

Came out of hospital and we were surprised it was so bright and sunny ( but blooming chilly wind) was dark when we arrived and then darkened waiting room . I got tram down into city and then train home. As long as you are on and off bus/ tram / train within 2 hours you are only charged once.

Home and welcomed by my dog boy.

Pottered around, ironed , tried to catch up with washing. I'm so over washing hanging on clothes horses trying to dry . But at least another 2 months of this....maybe the odd day of hanging outside.

Spag Bol for tea, DD1 took over the cooking if it, was rather nice.

Do have a good day .

mhagster! That nurse is 100% right - enjoy the holiday (as much as you can). The debutantes ball is near, too, isn't it? More fun to be had & enjoyed even if teeth are a bit gritted.
In so far as you can, please have as much fun as you can? We'll be keeping candles lit & all of you held in our thoughts & prayers, even as we clock the good things & record them here!

    Back down from up north!

5 Said goodbye to MiL's uncle yesterday. We turned up at the right place, but at the time the 1:30 appointment was going in. Now not of me to say, but why have four golden rollers for a funeral. Probably though he was Totankhamun! Looked actually grotesque. Now our old boy was quite simple, a humanist celebration of his only time on earth and a reflection on what he did. No fuss, simple. Goes out of this world as simply as he came into it in 1928!
Those in the golden canoes, probably did less in their public show of ...

4 Bit late back, but we stopped off for supper. Not like BoP to eat out much, but it was prefabricated water mess and stodge. Not really worth it. What has happened to providing proper food in establishments. Years ago in the Bridge, Chester, they used to do a fresh lunch everyday. Shepherds pie, made fresh! Or fish. Now it is all junk. Avoid. BoPsie a tad worse for wear this day because of it. Yes the plate was full, but it was only full so you did not go home hungry. The fact the food is carp is not noted!
I think I will stick to my once a quarter fillet steak and grilled toms!

3 England ladies playing cricket. Keeps the wireless on!

2 Day, Raffles, who ventures into the cherry tree just off the BoP Plaza, could not stay in it for long, and soon fell out. Paws were licked on landing! BoPsie could not stop giggling!

    Some pleasures for the last few days;

Driving to work Monday morning I realised that didn't actually mind going back in after week off. How things have changed in last 4 months, couldn't stand it when I first started but gradually things have got better. Supervisor is still a pita but hey, can't have everything!

Watching the full moon rising, gorgeously pink, behind the beech trees on Solstice eve, magical.

Pay day yesterday so went down to the nursery and treated myself to two new roses, one small yellow patio one, now resplendent in a dark blue pot. The other, a bright pink rambling one, to be planted outside dining room window. Plants are to me what shoes/handbags are to other women :rotfl:

The cricket, that six, oh my days.

I love fresh cherries but refuse to pay the silly prices charged in supermarkets, couldn't resist a pack YS in W8rose this afternoon, reduced from £3.50 to 99p, nom nom.

Spending afternoon at the yard, Bill had done his best hippo impression and was covered in dried on mud, bless him eh:)

    Enjoy Glastonbury VJ'sMum
Love and hugs to Mhags and family, enjoy each second & breath, they are to be cherished.

Sorry to hear the news is not positive, MHags. Thinking of you. When/where is your holiday?

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Work went OK.

    3) Did lots of weeding on the allotment, hampered by hens who stand at the business end of the spade to get worms. 3 eggs today.

    4) Made meatballs (no meat) and spaghetti for tea.

    5) Roasted rhubarb from the allotment that will make a crumble tomorrow.

Not much else to report. Smaller is being so difficult that I am sitting upstairs as I can do nothing with him. :-/

Meats and Purple Kitten, thinking of you both.

BofP - love the action replay of Raffles:)

    Three pleasures today:
    1. Next door moved out late last night - or early this morning. Yeah :T
No no more filthy language or rubbish thrown over the fence.
    2. The landlords daughter is moving into the house, she is lovely but has a horrible job to do clearing it out. The landlord is very upset by what gashappened. It was his mums house and he grew up there. He says he's not letting it again.
    3. Happy dog snoring on my knee.
  • That will swing it!

5 Had fresh Pork Pie salad yesterday with proper cheese. Makes a change!

4 Raffles has recovered from yesterday's tree adventure and the licking of his paws! All is well with him.

3 Good to see that everyone is still in the Euro, apart from Scotland, who are looking after the cat!

2 Day I am off the to Inn. I will be out for the count!

You can tailor your BoP notes by pressing the off switch!

mega hugs to mhags and family and to anyone else who needs them xxx
    1) last night good fun night with friends - bring and share and game of monopoly. i took a chickpea rice dish
    2) voted for Inny McInface. Whatdja mean that's not a real person?!
    3) i finally bought a shiny red travel mug from the hospital cafe for £3 (£2 plus £1 for the coffee). the deal is i can now have it refilled there for a £1 as many times as i want. or i can refill it for free at my office kitchen and walk over to main hospital site which is what i did this morning for 3 hour meeting (groan)
    4) slipped out of 3 hour meeting at 1:45 mark as had another meeting on main campus. they had lots of tea / coffee and lunch so, at end of day, refilled my nice shiny red mug to come over to library where i have spent 2:30 replying to urgent emails that kept me tossing and turning last night. note to self - put pen and paper next to bed to write them down for the morning
    5) and now eating chick pea and rice left overs from last night. soon i will head for the Rep to see Much Ado about Nothing at stand by price which i only found out about earlier today. unfortunately when i let my friend know he had already bought a full price ticket. guess i'm down for buying the drinks then!
Graduation tomorrow for the boy. i am going as an ordinary (and of course very proud) mum rather than in the academic procession

I hope you enjoy graduation as a mum DD, we are half an essay away from all work being done for this semester, son finished exams on Tuesday , DD2 passed all her school exams and DD1 had an extension to her assignments and essays as she'd had surgery the other week, so just half of last one to finish...she is the biggest procrastinator I know ( and I can be a procrastinator extraordinaire!) it's such a relief in the household once exams are out the way....until the next time :)

It is Middle of the night o'clock and I'm wide awake, having managed a few hours sleep. The lurch I feel when I wake up is horrid. However , I'm grateful for a comfy bed to lie in. The weather last night was atrocious. I'd left home at 11am in bright ( but chilly and breezy) sunshine, into city , still bright, met up with OH , we'd got time wrong and were both an hour early , then when we went over to hospital the sky turned so dark and a strong wind whipped out of nowhere .
Spent next 3 hours at hospital ( me doodling, people watching ...then doodling the people I was watching) then drove home and were just in when the most horrendous rain came on, it was more than torrential...my poor boy cycling home in it:(

We then had to take DD2 out to her last ever rehearsal for Deb Ball , this was the dress rehearsal at the place where it's being held. So the plan was OH and I would go and share a pizza whilst she was there. Event being held in my work town and by time we dropped her off, went back home would be time to head back out again...so DD1 invited herself along and ended up paying for meal ( in lieu of her rent money), it was still absolutely lashing with rain, we struggled to find a parking space , ended up going to pizza place opposite my work instead of where we wanted to go. It was okay but not as nice as other place....anyway, took leftover for poor soaked cycling boy !

Had 2 nice chats on phone. One in morning with friend from home, who stayed up later to listen to me , jumping from one subject to another , I'm all over the place. Then friend from Sydney phoned as we were driving home from hospital , so that passed a tedious rush hour journey, they are the only ones that know what's happening at the moment.

Had a nice reply to email I'd sent to holiday home people.....yay! No feather pillows or quilts in the building! We are going to stay in Tasmania for a week in a cottage by the sea. All 5 of us plus the dog makes 6 :)
An overnight sailing ( calm waters please ) and a 4 hour drive down to our destination. Pile in everybody!

But first we have Deb ball to get through...school finishes for holidays this afternoon, beauty salon at 8am tomorrow for the start of preparations and then the BIG event ( read blooming BIG palaver ) on Sunday evening. Why this is held in winter I don't know , if the weather is like last night these poor girls dresses and shoes will be ruined! OH is wearing his kilt which DD2 doesn't know about. She'd asked him to but he said no, he would wear his new suit he got for citizenship.so it will be a nice surprise for her. I am wearing my Salvo special ! Need to get a pair of tights and that's all! I'm sure we will all have a time most fabulous, be dazzled by the whiteness of the dresses , be transported back to the '50s by the outdatedness of it and still wonder why they need to wear elbow length white gloves in 2016. We will be surprised at the length of the eyelashes, possibly amused over the eyebrows and will of course think our daughter is the most stunning one there :) the crutches are being blinged up and takes along before event as a just incase. She is not allowed to make the grand entrance of walking down the staircase and will be up and down in the lift! I have a whole email on health and safety considerations for her hips!

So we have things to look forward to, bittersweet as they are , as I know what lies ahead but we shall make the most of every day...and this weekend is all about DD2( though when is it ever anyone else :))

Hope you've all voted...looking forward with interest to see the results .
    Have a nice night x
