    Evening all - s'been too long :o

Disgusted to see round carrots featuring on the thread - BoP, round carrots are the devil's work. Yes, they do taste different
Frith - Britain by drone. Did you see Monty? The Richard Montgomery sunk off the coast of Kent whilst (still) containing tons of ammo. "the biggest non nuclear explosion since Krakatoa" if it goes, apparently. I grew up in Sheerness - Dad still lives there. We didn't think about it much - cept when it got on the telly. My Auntie Margaret was interviewed about it once, on Nationwide.
DfV and VickyA - yep, i am a Konvert alright. In extremis - the job went in January. I might keep the husband though - takes too long to train a new one :rotfl: 25 years next week. "you get less for murder" as they say. House just has some annoying bits of paperwork and photos to do.
    Villagelife / Ampersand - don't you mean Villagelife's no. 5? That's more like one of mine..... :p
DforV - love the comments of your sons, they crack me up...

    Pleasures for last forever

    1. Sunshine, blossom, daffs and tulips... Gone down a coat thickness. Whilst i have kondoed much, the coats remain. I have successive thicknesses from thin light cotton up to ski jacket. I am now on level two - fleece lined cotton... sometimes the very light one doesn't make it out..
    2. Saw my girlie at the weekend. Took her out for din dins on the way back from dads. Had spent saturday night at my sisters. FN (favourite niece) was there - i thought she would be back at uni so it was a lovely surprise to see her. She is a bit special to me... Dads was not so great, some tensions between him, my brother and my brothers girlfriend who all live in the same house.
    3. MiL had come for the weekend - another who can play martyrish mind games (dad was playing them too), but at least i missed it. Also missed another of OH's concerts - he is in a choir and i just can't stand the music they sing. it makes me want to do something violent (it is choral music, i don't know what it is but i can't bear it...)
    4. OH's birthday yesterday. Managed to get pressies that were appreciated. The main one being dinner and a CBSO concert in a few weeks time. Also got him one of those "Ladybird for adults" books - "the Husband". Had us :rotfl:
    5. just been for a walk round the block - birds twittering, lovely sunset, blossom on the trees. Gorgeous evening.
    6. The antics of the Dyfi Ospreys. One male with two women at the mo. Both females have laid eggs so the male is busy trying to keep them all fed and the eggs incubated. Last week he visited Blue 24, mated with her, then nicked her fish and took it to Glesni :rotfl::rotfl: Better than the soaps
7 Talking of soaps :eek::T and  at the H'Arrrchers
8 Finally got my head round Structuration theory. Probably couldnt pass an exam on it, but definitley got the gist.
    9. Captain Woods and her divine eyebrow winning University Challenge, and the twitter comments accompanying it...
    10. Can i think of a 10th???? ah yes, OH has finished breaking up the concrete slabs in the garden, a job well done, methinks. But i have yet to get to the bottom of why we still have leftover bathroom tiles in the conservatory when we did the garage last week in order to put them in there... (see Kondo above) :/

    Have a good night all....
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Just testing, vjm...just testing.:p

Well done on winning &'s Spot the Deliberate Mistake competition.

Just in after a loaded and most peculiar arrangement of tasks and times today, but all are now accomplished.

hwb is still a necessary feature, so will flick kettle on.
Spits prep and some other scouting demain - and those wretched bloods.
Days of !!!!-ups with them now.
:eek::mad: for me with hurrchhhrs and the stupid, now gone, DG, Sean O'connor's malign and destructive editorial influence over it....appalling acting of ridiculous dialogue again sent me to France Inter this arvo, while crossing the Brecks.
Defenders are missing the point and noticeably state they have NEVER been hurrchhhrrs listeners before this hysteric overload. They rush to condemn detractors, but without rationale and certainly without any idea of how such things are actually brought out and dealt with, in life and in Court and in other literature, writing and media.
They dis-serve, diminish and desensitise the cause they pretend to support....very Titchener indeed.
    Asses all.
But 'Silks', which currently follows, is a much superior Court/Chambers wireless 'soap', equally preposterous I suppose. Love it,:D

    Quick pleasures for today:

    1) Relieved to get up after a not good sleep. :-/

    2) Work went rather quietly, but OK.

    3) Went for a cup of tea with my school friend after work.

    4) I was driving back and David Bowie's "Heroes" came on the radio. I turned that up and was admiring the scenery and the sunshine. I looked up and a parachutist went by!!

    5) Big hen was OK and chatty this evening.

    6) Lots of TV watching - One Born Every Minute then First Dates.

    7) First night in a long time that I haven't had to light the stove.

    8) A second mysterious parcel! ;-)

  • Howdy folks pleasures for yesterday

    1. work went quickly
    2. saw DS briefly at lunch time on his way to work
    3. had a walk in the sun and picked up some almond milk on special offer at co-op for DS
    4. saw doc and nurse even though arrived 20 mins late ! Snooty receptionist rang through to doc who agreed to see me
Diabetes ok, other known conditions ok, great big long list of further blood tests to do to rule out other conditions before CT scan - hope to rule out anything causing symptoms apart from thyroid to convince specialist to take it out
    5. managed to save a parking space for DS - our street is like blooming road wars at night for parking - and saw DS briefly at 11pm when I moved my car up for him to park before heading to bed!

Oh & they sound wonderful even if only on u-tubes but Lainey had a date with Captain Scarlet at the Abbey, oh look the Mighty U's scored seven, yes 7 :rotfl: for Lainey's visit. Brother says I can't miss another match until the end of the season now, hmm, will see.

DFV Bill's magic mix contains Turmeric, Aloe Vera Oil, Coconut Oil, Cod Liver Oil and others, am sure porridge would make a fine bran mash. Love that son believes you would be inventive with the clippers, perhaps another Hurchers episode!

Apart form the thrill of a seven goal win ( that makes our GD only 10 so gives reader idea of just how rare such a win is ) some pleasures include

Lunchtime walk was in the sun, with no coat :T

Drive home and Milly car had no coat either, top down, smile on face.

Captain had cut grass and sanded down the walls in porch, dogs were waiting at the gate, nice to be home.

The consumption of bird seed has dropped, hopefully it means that more bugs around for birds to eat or maybe they are just to busy, lots of activity in hedge.

Celebratory cup of tea and square of dark choc when we finally got home, despite the choc got on scales this morning and had lost another couple of pounds, that's 10 in all so far :j

Hello , had a very relaxed first day off. Washing out and back in but not quite ironed yet. Maybe tomorrow .

'Acknowledgeding that OH is still here one whole year on after being diagnosed again with cancer. Very thankful.

Sun was shining . Leaves on trees are the most amazing colour.

Making fish pie with a sweet potato topping for those that like fish .

Making a list and ticking off as I did stuff, had to arrange for DD2's debutante ball dress to get layered , so that's done and had to book tickets for the ball ...will look forward to getting the money back I'm owed from DDs friends. An email sent to school about an issue and that's new been dealt with. Crochet was on the list..tried but have taken stitches back out....shall persevere!

Now need to take DD2 back to school for a play she has to watch.
    Have a great day :)
