    Bit better today - hoorah!

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Staggered round Sainsburys.

    3) Bigger son built a compost store on the allotment, out of planks and 2 pallets. I made a bonfire down there and we moved the hen pen on to fresh grass.

    4) Enjoyed watching Britain by Drone (usually I cannot stand Tony Robinson for more than a minute but he was less obsequious than normal). I've always been obsessed with Sealand.

    5) Did various bits of paperwork ready for tomorrow.

First time I've stumbled across this thread and I'm loving reading everyone's os pleasures. Although I've not had a very productive day, I have had some pleasures.

    1. Washing done and towels tumble-dried.

    2. Getting the most adorable smiles from my 4m old baby girl.

    3. Ordered a lovely small ceramic bird bath for the garden.

    4. Getting a 50% refund from Freemans for some damaged plant plugs that came yesterday.

    5. Gave 11yo dd my old mobile to use for emergencies, she was so pleased.

    Serious rubbing of tum!

5 When making the pie of Mushroom and chicken yesterday, BoP nearly lumped the pastry crust everywhere! Having expertly rolled it up on the pin, it decided to come off. Fortunately, it ended up on the pie, like a patch work quilt. It is now half eaten. Rubs Tum. The spotted dick rose so much, there was a air blob on the dish. Nicely mixed with instant lumpy custard, not from the kettle.

4 Bagged BoPsie's rucksack up as she vanished off to new job. She has her mug, pen, woolly hat, oranges, yoghurt, banana and a note from her BoP.

3 And because, just like the new jar of dark treacle for the sticky chicken, the pie will not expire, it will be fully disposed of. Heated up this evening on the stove, and served with mushy peas, not the skinless fish merchant variety from Harry either! Now that has set BoP off. Fish should be served with the skin on it, not like that carp harry serves. Right. Enough!

2 Night BoP is readying for another interview.

Get closer to those that matter!

Evening all, after a very chilly start....jumper, gilet , scarf and still cold at 6.15am at train station, it brightened to a beautiful 24o and jumper, gilet and scarf stuffed in bag for train home at 3.30pm!

One day of work left to do then 6 whole days off. Something to look forward to .

OH and I drove to St Kilda and had a very nice dinner at the sea front last night and watched the sunset ( and then got chilly) and then we went to see The Proclaimers in concert, fabulous gig. The support band were Pseudo Echo ( take me to funky town ) who are a Melbourne band that were big in the 80's . A good night!

I was walking to the station this morning ( wrapped up! ) when I heard a shimmy from a plan tree in someone's garden....2 possums ran down the trunk! They should have been back in their beds!

Stunning view of sunrise from the train and fabulous hot air balloons in the Sky. The view from there must be stunning but don't think I will ever be up in one.

    Have a good day :)
  • 1) a really nice brisket joint and a big bag of outdoor reared streaky pork YS to affordable in T*sco this morning.

    2) A candle lamp and a beautiful glass candlestick in the charity shop too, plus a car for Zebra and a pop up toy toaster to go with the play food that Santa got for him at Christmas.

    3) A nice Cookie walk this afternoon where we met lots of canine friends and Cookie wagged and wagged and wagged, happy pup!

    4) DD2 and Zebra have just let us know they are safely back indoors after their flight back from the USA last night, hoorah!

    5) DD1 finally has the pergola roofed to make a garden room, nice to be able to sit out in the typical English summer and not get wet, we'll use it lots when we visit.

    Some pleasures for the weekend,

A lie-in on Saturday morning, didn't get up until 9am, unheard of for me.

Drove over to pick up Mum and then dropped into local hospital to visit her friend who had been moved there from BuryStEd, the pleasure was that the nurses had the United game commentary on the radio.

Watched and enjoyed the Kings Speech which had been on our TV planner for the last 3 years!

Sunday breakfast of portobello mushroom with bacon wrapped round it and an egg dropped into the middle, baked in oven for 15 minutes, it was delicious.

Weather was bright if not cold on Sunday morning so pottered round the garden with Mum, planning things and talking about what plants will be in for the summer.

Cheeky little nap on the sofa in the afternoon then over to see my lovely boy at the yard, felt a bit warmer soI walked him down the lane. Stood in the afternoon sun for half an hour and let him graze on the spring grass.
