  • Coffees on tap, Stoves brewing curry! No one dunk biscuits inn tea!

Now round here, we play rough.

5 Very fast game is Ship's Maiden, all balls and racks. Problem is, we have to keep Raffles away from the balls, as he is too playful.

4 BoPsie had too much of the ade last evening, and this mourning was suffering quite badly. Usual respect from her BoP soon put a shine on her!

3 Day three of the Chilli, maturing on the stove. It brings a fire to your hearts. Recipe has been hounded down from nan BoP years and years ago. Tasty!

2 Day, BoP is ready for anything that goes, got it, even if he does miss reading posts about clearing out fereezers. Note, how BoP stores his chilli above!

I have run into a sweat, but cannot find the finishing line!
  • 1) We reached 20degrees outside at high noon today, I got so hot walking that hound I had to change into a short sleeved top.....LOVE IT!!!

    2) Lunch outside in the garden for the first time this year.

    3) Lots of jobs done this afternoon, trip to the tip with garden waste, trip to the garden centre for some butterfly netting to make doors for the polytunnel this summer and trip to B & Q as it's pensioners day for fixings for fence panels that have to be replaced courtesy of storm Katie and some preservative jollop to paint on the replacement panels which arrive on Saturday.

    4) Going out for supper tonight with my brother and his wife to spend some of our quiz winnings.

    5) IPL cricket on the TV Kolkota Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians, bring it on!
  • What a beautiful day.

    1. Washing has been on the line, while the tortoise has been haring round the garden (he's now attempting to climb up the washing basket which I really need to take upstairs...)

    2. I've spent a lovely afternoon repotting my seedlings that have been growing.

    3. Hiked up to the out of town Aldi for some bits and pieces and picked a ton of dandelions and dead nettles for the tortoise on the way.

    4. Freezer and bottom of the fridge clear out for dinner - roast chicken with veggies. Yum!

    5. On the way back from Aldi took the scenic route through a small woodland and was rewarded with a bag full of foraged ramps. Will be making pesto in a bit!

Pleasures for today (just noticed I've been writing the date wrong all day!)

    1) Not a bad sleep though went to bed too late.

    2) Healthy eating continues. :-/ Seems ALL my colleagues want to lose 2 stones, like me!

    3) Work was OK.

    4) Got home to where my dad had already let the cooker man in. Very exciting! A proper oven clean. To be honest, the results weren't miraculous in that I keep it quite clean anyway. It was, however, the oldest cooker he had EVER cleaned and he doesn't expect to come across another of that vintage! (1970s with lovely brown and orange trim).

    5) Went down to the allotment and fed the hen formerly known as Betty... who may now be known as Bernard :-/ Think he will have to be rehomed before my new ladies are collected.

Not a pleasure but a phone call from bigger son's school. :-/ He went in the textiles room at lunchtime (he doesn't do textiles!) so his friend could sew up where his trousers had ripped. He was throwing a ball about (why?) and threw it though someone's GCSE coursework so now has to pay for it to be reframed...

    1. Finished proofreading DS2 dissertation. I've learnt something but really pleased I've finished.

    2. Managed to find prepared meals in the freezer for the last couple of days so I could concentrate on the dissertation and not buy something easy.

    3. Went to some training at work and lovely sunny weather on the work back to work.

    4. Lovely morning - slightly misty

    5. Speaking with a colleague and catching up with her news. She is going to retire at the end of the year. She is making plans for it

5 Cannot be bothered with the full plate this morning with the cup of tea. Partial BoP is to a decent tart, the jam ones can be left until this afternoon. This morning is Cakes of Jaffa, orange, and chocolate. You know your elevenses are not of the same class! Rubs Tum!

4 And that after nmega toast roast with hot buttered marmite this morning, topped with a poached egg. They say go to work on an egg, so BoP has done so. It ended up well chopped on the toast. Rubs Tum. Raspberry jam opn toast was also consumed!

3 Another interview next week, on doorstep. Walk along canal and Bob's your uncle!

2 Night BoP is at the CC. Is ladies vs Men night. BoP of curse believe in equality, and has reviewed all the male images. The score so far is Men 200, Girls 0. They have some catching up to do!

It is coming up to nearly a quarter past the hour now, so move along the bus!
  • 1. Another sunny day - what's going on.

    2. Hubby just bought an old MGB to do up to drive with his mate to the LeMans Classic in July.

    3. Having read the latest blog on the Retireeasy website, I told him he could have bought a plane!
  • 1) A successful foray into the city where the shops I had to visit had the things I needed to buy, OH YES!!!

    2) A lovely browse through Waterstones while I was there, I didn't buy anything but spent a happy half hour just looking at new books I'd like to own one day.

    3) Really nice walk with Cookie today not too hot but warm enough and lots of flowering shrubs in full bloom, some of which (I think it's the skimmia japonica) had a beautiful perfume that floated on the breeze, Mmmmmmm!

    4) Bumped into Sue and Charlie retriever as we were coming back into the village, always nice but it's the dogs who are so pleased to see each other who amuse us no end.

    5) Got some nice Swedish food from I*ea to re-live our holiday gastronomically over the weekend!

A few for the past few days.
    1. I would love to get away for a few days before the new job Monday, but due to problems with DF and our very poorly animal we just can’t commit, so we are enjoying relaxing doing bits and bobs
    2. While loading up the CD player I pleasantly found under my driver’s seat that I didn’t know was there, a few summer anthems, a bit of Guns and Roses, I looked around the front garden and the tulips we picked up at a steam fair are all up and amazingly striped blossoms they look really lovely.:T
    3. Popped over the bridge yesterday as I need new work shoes and trousers, we were really lucky with the trousers picking up 2 pairs for £12 at @sda along with a cardigan, but shoes, decent ones where completely elusive.
    4. Hoovered the whole house, flea treated and new animal bedding all done, I got somewhat overheated and had to stop for a cuppa.:o
    5. Tonight I am trailing some Epsom salts, the doctors came back with a problem of while my thyroid is fine, my brain is telling it it isn’t, causing hair loss, I start treatment for it tomorrow.
    6. Looking forward to sorting out a capsule work wardrobe tonight and packing the rest into boxes to create some space, the boxes have been emptied of previous clothes now in CS bag.:)
    7. I went out to garden earlier, the plan was to strim and mow, however the animals decided to be so much “help” that I didn’t do any of that.:rotfl:
    8. I’ve just made root vegetable oven chips, should be different, to go with a chop and Chinese cabbage.:D

    Pleasures for today (Thursday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Managed a fairly busy day at work, despite cold and killer sore throat.

    3) Mentioned at work that my hen is a cockerel and a pupil thinks he might know where to rehome it!

    4) Quorn pies and veg for tea.

    5) Popped down to the allotment and smaller son says he wants to help on there "for hours" at the weekend (!)

    6) In bed with hwb and might watch Holby City on the laptop.
