    1. Took up a £5 for a month's unlimited swim offer at my local pool :)

    2. DD got a free swim due to a till issue!

    3. Walked another mile, and we reckon it was faster this time :)

    4. Thanks to the free swim, it was a very low spend day! I also took fruit with us for a snack rather than buy something, as we're always famished after we swim.

    5. Cuddles with DD :)

Very grumpy this evening. Work tomorrow (sons have a teacher training day). Emailed my sister's friend (a solicitor) and she replied tonight that the financial side of my divorce was not done properly and is in such a mess that she would have to refer on to her colleagues to get it sorted out! It was 11 years ago so I don't have the paperwork any more that may have helped slightly. It includes the deeds of the house not being right...

This after a phone call from Child Maintenance (new CSA) earlier this week that my ex says "he doesn't have to pay £2.50 a week now he has shared care and the children live with him half the time" News to me!!

    Anyway, pleasures for today:

    1) A lie in!

    2) Bigger son went to a car boot sale and bought some more tools.

    3) We all went out for lunch.

    4) Spent a long time cleaning the car out and hoovering it.

    5) Went on the allotment 3pm ish. Bigger son started digging a small pond. I planted 2 rows of rainbow chard.

    6) A big tea of HM chicken chow mein plus little YS fritter thingies and prawn crackers. Apple pie and custard.

    7) Spent a long time deleting viruses etc off bigger son's laptop.

    8) Weighed myself and have lost a lb. No idea how!

Vicky A, I was inspired to look for CCC’s locally but was left cake-less.
BOP, Raffles looks like a lovely boy.
Firth: Incredulous at your ex, and barely a token amount.

    1. A traditional Sunday brekkie, it was grilled bacon, brie and cranberry, delicious.
    2. I had fun putting soil and who knows how many seeds in our fence pots, with a lot of animal help, now I just need to remember to water them through April, also planted up a hanging basket.
    3. We had some coupons emailed to us for the ferrets milk which makes it free, very helpful as we can freeze some for them.
    4. A Shepherd’s pie, which is slowly cooking through, while also meal planning for the next few days.
    5. A lovely hot soak in the tub.

1 - 5 I had the first opportunity to approach someone, who was a friend, who had insulted me in front of a crowd some weeks ago, it was so embarrassing and painful. You know how these things go, the molehill gradually starts to grow, my side of the imaginary conversation sounds quite unpleasant, the molehill starts to rumble, the insult plays over and over in the mind daily if not more often, To try to get them out of my system I write my feelings, banging the words out on the keyboard (which hadn't done anything so really didn't deserve the violence!), and the molehill is now shaking out of control. I cancel a lunch we've both been invited to (talk about cut of my nose to spite my face), I begin to detest the person, my heart thumps at the thought of bumping into her and the molehill erupts into Vesuvius.

Today she was at the same meeting as myself and asked if I'd like to go for a coffee afterwards. As you can imagine I'm on the verge of saying no but think it's the opportunity I need to speak to her. After some small talk I took the bull by the horns and asked her why she'd said what she did. She was mortified! And was avoiding me because she wanted to apologise for speaking in the heat of the moment but didn't know if it would be accepted. (And she didn't go to that lunch either :rotfl:)

We'd both mentally been blowing it all out of proportion when we should have faced it when it happened - our mountains had caused massively painful explosions inside each of us and we admitted we were as apprehensive as each other to meet.

Our friendship is as strong as ever and we've both promised never to let things fester for so long if there's a next time

The molehills have been flattened, peace reigns over this small corner of our world once more.

Wishing all sweet dreams, I know I will have :)

    1. Spent most of the day in the garden. Managed to plant the rest of my potatoes and some seeds.
Planted the roses my MIL sent me -found somewhere out of the way for them.

    2. Spoke to my neighbours and caught up on the news.

    3. Cooked tea and resisted DH suggestion of a takeaway.

    4. Spoke with DS2 and he's making progress with his dissertation. Which means I've got to proofread it this week. Hopefully it'll be the last dissertation I've got to read.

    5. Glass is of wine with tea.
  • And now for your great reading pleasure!

5 So we have another Masters Champion. Could not believe the number of shots taken by the leader on the Amen Corner! Another swallowed up by its grace.

4 Tea has been delivered and another jam tart has been devoured. That fills BoP up mid morning. Rubs Tum.

3 Seems some around the parish cannot make their mind up. Back in Kharj in August 1990, before most got out of bed, their bed, you had to make a choice!

2 Night BoP could end up tossing or will we just have egg salad. Choices again! N'ver mind, BoP has Dogs, Hot Dogs for lunch today. Filling time!

The sandcastle defence on the beach is washed away by the ebb and flow of the tide.
  • 1) The IPL matches are back on TV, yesterdays was a little short as Kolkota Knight Riders convincingly and easily put paid to Delhi Daredevils. Love the IPL and watching the Oh so enthusiastic crowds watching!

    2) Just made a big batch of 'Rodgrote' (red fruit compote) to have with skyr/yoghurt for our breakfasts this week.

    3) Don't have to go out in the rain today, yippee!

    4) Housework, cooking and ironing done so the day is MINE!!!

    5) Some lovely pictures sent from DD2 who is on holiday in the USA of Zebra fast asleep in a cupboard in their hotel bedroom, he just crashed when they got back from their day out and laid down in there with his pillow, they covered him up with a duvet and he slept the night through, awwww!

Hello! My time as acting manager is over ...tralala! I am off for a whole 4 days which will be busy ones . I will pop in to work very briefly on Wednesday to pass back the key and a debrief!

    Pleasures for past few days:

The most stunning colours of autumn.

About 200 parrots flew overhead when I was opening the cafe yesterday at sunrise.

Bought some more plants and soil which I planted out this afternoon after fi sighing work an hour early. Had my iPad on listening to radio 2 and pottered about the back garden , sweeping, potting up, watering. Nice afternoon.

Too much bread..DD2 had brought some from work and I'd brought some from work, so I made a lovely bread and butter pudding for tea tonight.

Met a customer from my first job here on the train coming home today so had a nice chat with her.

Popped into the 3 op shops in our wee town in my way home. Lovely crocheted blanket in lost fo shades of pink in one, a gorgeous skirt for $2 in an other and then a sheet set with fitted, flat and pillowcases in a lovely shade of green for $8

PK well done on getting a new job. I hope it works out well.

Sparrer glad you got things sorted out.

Have a great Monday , it's bedtime for me
