    Pleasures for today.

    1. Nice lie in after a couple of night shifts.
    2. Feeling a bit more human after a head cold, plus hearing now returned after blocked ears :(
    3. 3 weeks ahead with uni work meant a proper easter break with the littles.
    4. Fresh doughnuts made by my boy at uni. Lish :D
    5. Hubby cries "there's no food in this house" ( payday tomorrow ). Quick dip in freezer revealed a yummy bolognaise portion and a beef stew. Bah no food indeed :rotfl:

Well, work was absysmal yesterday, even though I'm on a day off today I still felt the impact as DD2 , who had been drafted in to help one of my problems from yesterday , walked out of her shift in such a state. I was enroute to go in and cover ( not happily) when I met DD1 coming off train and she went in instead. I had a thumping headache and remnants of dizziness so did not really feel up to it, so I'm glad she went in . Now there are times when I've felt like walking out but you just don't so I had to deal with my disappointment in my daughter that she did so.
We have since had a very long and frank discussion and a snuggle on sofa with a dog on top of us who did not want to be left out.

DD2 suffers from anxiety issues and I am the first to hold my hand up and say I do NOT understand but I told her today I can empathise with her even if I don't quite get it at times. I totally get why she walked out today even if it was not the wisest thing to do but that's a clean up job for boss to do next week when he's back. ( very lazy, could not care less newish employee)

Anyway! Enough of work , I will be back in the thick of it tomorrow so for today :

Woke up early and phoned one of my friends from home. We had a good blether and a laugh, so that was good.

Ensconced myself on a sofa, under the big fleecy blanket and caught up on UK telly. DD1 invited me to lunch so I was forced to get dressed....then all hell let loose .....anyway, lunch didn't happen!

Walked off the steam coming out of my ears by taking dog out for a decent walk. Left my phone and DD2 at home!

Painted a corner unit ,I've had for months , that I bought in salvos that was massively reduced as it had a crack in it. I bought it with the intention of painting but it's sat in the corner in dark wood.....its now a chalk painted sage green kind of colour. better late than never. Looking forward to getting my collection of bowls back in.

It's been a funny day for weather, so chilly morning and evenings but mild enough through the day ....as soon as that sun disappears then brrrr!

Do have a lovely day ...off out with dog and daughter to collect thai food...cheaper than dining in! ( that's money saving , isn't it? ) shall hand in my library books and post a letter on the way.

Alarm bells should ring if you notice that this post is not a genuine BoP one! You will note that it is by referring to this website. Double click to check now!
Two spoons for ice cream, I am thinking Messy! Crooked spires!
5 Not everything is possible. Just this morning, BoPsie found the flour duster, but the lid was welded on. Time for BoP to get the efficient Nut Knurdlers out and release the lide. And withing seconds, the lid gave up its hold, and was released from the can. Nut Knurdlers 1 Can 0
4 This morning, had some seeded breaded, with marmite and poached egg. Followed by jam on toast. Tea was drunk. Rubs Tum.
3 Now, because the BoP is not greedy, we have loads of Chocolate biscuits left this week. In fact, we have so many that if you get arouind to the House of BoP, there could be more than crumbs left for you! Rubs Tum.
2 Night will be film night. Think we has a Erol Flynn somewhere! Thinks swash buckling.
    Not on your Nellie!

BoP I don't understand the lyrics  Methinks BoP's aim is to confuzzle the innocent...

    1. Gardener man couldn't do the lawn etc on Wednesday due to April showers/hail/frost so did it myself this morning. DD and I shopped for bedding on Tues but everything is much too small to plant out yet, been advised to wait another couple of weeks. But my late blooming daffodils are just coming into flower! My favourite flowers, there are lots of single, double, yellow and cream heads dancing in the breeze :)
    2. DGD3 and her OH helped me clear out the small bedroom, took a car load to the tip, their doing the heavy jobs helped me no end. Some furniture donated to a local charity warehouse. They stayed for lunch, treated them to strawberries which I was given but am not fond of, and ice cream for pud.
    3. The decorator arrived to give me a quote for the small bedroom. He's going to dig out and fill the cracks around the ceiling first, the quote was very reasonable and he can start next week. I've already chosen the carpet, light fitting and curtains, all from discount stores and can't wait to see it all finished.
    4. New net curtains arrived, plain white as opposed to the perfectly good but flowery/granny ones which were here when I moved in 12 years ago. They stayed as I was and still am decorating etc., so didn't see the point in changing them until it's all done. Trouble is it's just about ready to be done again!.
    5. All hair trimmed, clipped where necessary, brushed and groomed. ToppyDog looks very smart for now :D

  • 1) Waking up in my own home and getting a cuppa in bed as He Who Knows made one, spoiled or what?

    2) Walking up to the shopping centre this morning in lovely warm spring sunshine with blossom, fresh green new leaves and birdsong everywhere.

    3) Walking Cookie at lunchtime for the first time since we went on holiday, she got so excited when I called her she just pinged up and down and ran round in circles bless her!

    4) A beech tree in full leaf, it's one of a run of six and always comes into leaf way earlier than the other five, lovely.

    5) Masses of bluebells open on the verges on the footpaths and in the woods, I love this time of year it's so positive and 'new beginning' always makes me cheerful.
  • Oh my, Now I has to go back over my thoughtfulness from the last few days!
    Run, it is the weekend!

1-100 I’ve got a job:j:beer::j. It’s a great little one turned up 2 days ago, I went to the interview today - and came away disheartened as I couldn’t read the people there at all body language wise,:o but I had the offer this afternoon, I’ve accepted and start either end of next week or the following, now a little bit nervous.
    101. DH deep cleaned as a nice surprise.:D
    102. Popped into Lidl on the way home from the station and picked up lunch of fresh bread, salami ad pickles very nice it was too.:)

    1. Such wonderful unprompted help late at Spits last night, & having had 5 v.v.late sales, 2 of which 3-figs, so hugely appreciated.
The conciergerie team are crackers, every one. At market breakdown, they have huge physical work to do under time pressure. Last night, they had a stage to build centrally, then re-surround with obesity outlets. They knew about last week's thefts, saw me selling on, carried on around & without hassle[in contrast to team of years past]. Was finally all packed down and loaded in &obile at 2240h.
Bed+hwb by 2 bells. Increasingly I lie back, feeling 'I'm back, I've done it ...again. I've managed somehow.' I am so grateful for Spitalfields, intense old lady workload that it is notwithstanding and there are people who come back to me, buying every time.

    2. A real pleasure was meeting new-est, born 26 March - a truly grand little chap, beautiful fine features. Was amazed and taken aback that maman and grand'mère had come by especially to say Hello, let little R. be introduced. Crochet something begun:-)

    3. 6 bells wake-up + count of pennies. Happy Banking thoughts, but made self empty car at lock-up first and take in another curiosity for re-glaze+frame.

    4. All the while, The Big Soup of all Leftovers/Use-ups was quietly mijoting and it is luvverley....including, but not limited to, gammon stock, Heston B rtc gravy, end of onions, carrots, celery, parsley, thyme, pommes de terre minus sproutings, odds of chicken and gammon and pork.
    Internal hwb.

    5. just gave:

Need bed now, so please forgive curtailed input atm.
Penultimate home match demain. Will allow self this cathartic shout, as per rugby usual:-)
All days now seem tightly mapped, but not unmanageably.

    Good weekends to all.
Oh, 5+ was a bit before 3 bells, en route to Spits, maybe 15 miles on. Sudden stop for 2 muntjac, unseen as they balletic-leapt down from a raised front lawn and stopped in front of &, not 5 yards ahead. They looked at me. I looked at them.
Each then brushed close by a different side of car and & carried on.
    It was breath-held stuff.

Oh, woo-hoo for PK, all-singing and dancing. Well done!
