Evening all, now dark but just watched a massive sun-set and now a sliver of moon in the sky. Chilly.

Woke up at really very silly o'clock (4am ) and that's me wide awake.

Pottered around listening to Uk radio and ironed and tidied kitchen.

Went into city with OH, who was shopping for a suit. I'm not really a big shopper these days ( unless it's an op shop) and I find it tedious being in noisy, busy , warm shops. Many suits looked at / tried on ...sigh! Finally got one. Had a nice lunch . Just us in the restaurant. Made the train home with one minute to spare.

Popped out (as sun was setting ) to aldi to buy some bits and bobs for our wee 'do' we are having on Friday, whilst OH was available to help me.

Don't need dinner as we had big lunch.

    Have a good one!
  • We are moving from just comments, to another day of BoP!

5 Did big pot of Chilli last night, that is now sat on stove maturing for today and tomorrow. BoPise was worried about the SpagYETTI, but was assured it was well in date, as long as it is all used up by the 10th of May! Rubs Tum.

4 Dunking biscuit has been delivered with the cup of loose leaf tea. Unfortunately, the chocolate is missing from the biscuit today.

    Free

2 Nite, BoP will be playing games with BoPsie. Cribbage, and if no offensive words are played, Live Scrabble. Please remember that BoPsie remains only one win away from the chance of going for two on the bounce. BoP no longer plays Backgammon!

If you could change just one number to be free!
  • 1) The first Cookie walk of the year.....without a coat!!!

    2) Sue and Charlie retriever are back from holiday and came with us, both dogs highly excited to see each other again.

    3) Little leaves on the oak trees along the lanes, the most lovely greeny bronze colour.

    4) Met the horse who is normally in the field at the top of the Chicken Track being ridden out along the lane this afternoon, Cookie who is normally very interested when it's in the field just watched it trot by and didn't raise so much as an eyebrow! Good girl!

    5) Enough asparagus spears up on the plot to make it worth harvesting to go with our salmon for supper tonight, yummy!

Glasses put on face. Message received! But faggots. Turning BoPinese!

Game on. Backgammon. BoP trails 24 to 26.
Thirst game to BoP. Now 26 all. BoPsie did not remove a piec, hence 2 points! Decider in play!
Form is temporary. Skill is permanent. BoP regains the lead inn backgammon for the thirst time this year. He leads 27 to 26.

Now cribbage. Last time out, BoP lost! This time, we wait!

BoP gets thirst jack. BoP box first. Wobbleade tonight is courtesy of Mr Smiff, and the Hen.
Hands of nineteen. BoPsie has said best of three. BoP leads cribbage, one game to nil!
Tight game, BoPsie pegged to 120, before BoP's count.

BoPsie requests best of five. Heads down game on!
Best of five at cribbage, BoP wins 3-0.

Now for your reading pleasure, we have got the Captain's maiden laid on the table. You'll have to search for that game!

It is a ladies game, BoPsie one up with the maiden!

No good, BoP has fetched the Hen. Not the golden one. Is now too down.

Evening! Chicken curry and rice on the stove bubbling away for dinner.

Early start. Drove into work very early to hand in safe keys. Hurrah! Boss is back , got a box of chocs for my troubles.

Lovely drive home. The sun was rising and was the hugest red / orange ball coming up in the sky. The mist was rolling over the distant hills. Everyone was heading towards the city and I was going the opposite direction so hardly any traffic my way.

I've had a pottering around kind of day. Made tablet ( Scottish sweet) all I've heard all day is 'can I have a piece of tablet mum? ' , 'just a wee bit!'

Washings on, out and ironed. Bathrooms cleaned, hoovering done, beds changed. Blankets on.

Crazy ( but kind hearted ) neighbour came round with a bag of lemons. Which was very kind of her.

Went through wardrobe again and took another bag of stuff over to Salvos and had a quick look but walked back out.

Sat enjoying the peace and quiet of no one in for a wee while before they started coming in. Had the patio doors open and enjoyed the sound of the birds in the garden.

Son took fans out to the shed....don't think we will be needing them for another 6 months. Patio parasol put away as well and table and chairs pushed under pergola .

    Have a good day! :)

    1. Saw a buzzard and two red kites yesterday so pulled in to watch them sharing the sky, a beautiful sight. Then drove into my small town where the ducks were causing a hold up in the High Street. Some kind lads were standing in the middle of the road stopping the traffic while they crossed, much to the amusement of the drivers.
    2. Shopping day with DD, just bought some chicken breasts for the dog and mog. It was her turn to pay for lunch so my purse remained reasonably healthy...
3...until today when the decorator comes to do the small bedroom. He's a friend of DD and I'm sure he doesn't charge me full price so he has coffee on tap , hm cake/biscuits and a decent lunch.
    4. Made a bottom of the fridge pot, one of the best yet and the fridge got a good clean at the same time.
    5. A glorious morning, weather forecast says fog but no sign here, just a clear blue sky, birds in good voice and the garden just about lost its winter brown coat, lots of shades of green and a colourful daffodil border to look out on and admire. Speaking of daffodils the vase on the kitchen table smells amazing, really strong scent which is just so Spring. All is well in my small corner of the world.

    Happy Wednesday :)
