    1. Am officially old - DD is studying the 1980's in History at school...my teenage years!!

    2. Have loved the last 2 days being back at school - thank you letters, brochures to show next year's Year 4s what fun they will have and art, with a couple of no-marking maths lessons :)

    3. Can't wait to get my new reading glasses, have taken advantage of a MSE offer code to get 2 pairs for £52. I have a tendency to 'lose' glasses all over the place, so need as many pairs as I can afford!

    4. Finished off watching the film we started on Wednesday night.

    5. A bittersweet pleasure - DD didn't want to sleep in my bed last night as she said that we sleep better in our own beds (true!). Am enjoying being able to potter about at 3:30am but sad that I won't have cuddles when I properly wake up...my baby's growing up! Really glad I made the most of her whilst she did want to share my bed on a nightly basis :)

Aye see KK is going for upping the thanks count by double posting!
Lemon chickens, hens on the run, DD Wheres yous bin lass? Cups of tea.

5 Usual Saturday Snorker fest has been washed down with tea. Mushrooms, best back, snorker, baked beans, toms, hot buttered marmite toast topped with poached egg. Rubs Tum. Sticky chickens made for later, tonight to be served with finger kebabs. Small snorkers, bit of cheese and cherry tom on cocktail stick. But name them as finger kebabs and the price sky rockets!

4 That's the wobbleade food picks sorted. BoPsie has some wine for this evening. I think she demolished her special cheese last night. Things like that do not last too long in BoP Place.

3 All set to listen to the mariners at 3 today. Will be getting nearly as mad as a hatter!

2 Day is St Georges Day. Now how did that come about. Was it the King of France saying. 'Pour le France, et St Dennis' and we had none! Oh look, there's a George going free!

At least we can Quit This Town, they have not taken Barrie Masters!

Oh, I can still see Jimmy Laing on our apprenticeship at college in December 1978 expletively saying that as we were all under 18 at the time, we were not at the concert! He knew we were all there! Those in the year above were asked to leave the college the Monday after!
What would happen today if the same happened!
At the Universtity of Paisley in 1998 the Students asked again of they could be allowed to have a Christmas concert, it was declined, for about the thirtieth year. Some band turned up in 1978 and ... Chuckled that I saw them in '78 in Grimsby, and the same happened there

    Edit
Just found the tatties that were to have been fried this morning. No worries, they will be well sorted by supper with the sticky chickens

Good evening from a posh shack in the middle of a rainforest near the sea. Having a weekend away , celebrating life one year on.

Log fire is a roaring , OH is ever so happy that there's an electric blanket on the bed ( me , not so much , prefer coolness )

Had a pleasant if a tad long drive to get here , had a bit of rain on the way but was dry when we got here. Checked in, dumped bags and then drove to nearest town. Had a walk along beach , it was stunning. I do love the sea. Only a handful of people there.

Back to the love shack ( via the supermarket for some supplies ) and then went a walk down to the jetty, admired a pelican and the setting sun. Walked back up the hill, listening to bell birds and kookaburras.
Log fire lit then we went along to see the possums being fed, they are fed nightly in owners back garden/ rain forest! Others came for 5 minutes but we watched for about half an hour. Fabulous.....until we relied our hands were bitten to bits by mosquitoes.

More logs on the fire and a lasagne in the oven for tea. We have a spa bath actually in the bedroom .

Lots more to do tomorrow .

    Have a good day :)

    Mchags: It sounds blissful

1.The new job is going alright, it’s nice enough, the only small thing is I can’t venture out for lunch or own time at the moment as you have to be escorted so as a bit of an introvert person I’ve struggled with this, it’s only temporary until the clearance is done but it makes it into mentally longer day without a break, but pleasure to have got the first week done.:j

    2. Glad to have kept up with the food planning, and remembered to take leftovers in for lunches.

    3. It’s been a lovely lazy day today, it was much needed, it’s a quiet one just a spot of shopping to do later. I feel a little bad as we have 2 friends who want to see us, but we needed s day just doing daft stuff, and giving ourselves a chance to grieve a little, as in my experience people don’t “get” the loss of an animal.:o

    4. Sadly our little ill animal passed away naturally in our arms, we knew it was coming but that doesn’t help all too soon, we have laid him to rest in the garden and he’s got his very own palm tree and crocus bulbs.

    5. Took time today to do a bit of tidying in the garden and care for the pond, while DH is creating a door to “hide” the junk corner, it’s working and made from recycled wood with the rotten bits sawn off.:T

I popped to Mr T tonight for fresh bread for tomorrows brekkie and landed at just the right time. :j

We have just had gammon with chips and fresh veg for 40p each for tonight’s dinner. :p

The fridge and freezer is loaded up with all sorts of ham, pork, chicken and beef. We picked up a whole piri piri chicken for 35p,:money: and washed off most of the sauce as I couldn’t pass it up for that price. (We are quite honestly we are feeling it a bit with new work travel costs, so I'm very greatful for the haul). Oh and desert vanilla cheesecake with a big bowl of melon, apple and grapes. All in all the total was just under £15 for all sorts of things for the freezer. A lovely surprise.:)

Busy day today! Here are my pleasures:

    1) A lie in!

    2) Sons off to their father's OK. Various calls from smaller son; he went to the cinema with a school friend this afternoon.

    3) Went to Hereford and ordered a new washer/dryer! I've had second hand washers since I left home (22 years ago) and am rather excited about the new one arriving.

    4) Lunch in my favourite caf!.

    5) On to Ludlow for the charity shops. Got a Mistral top (nice chain of shops, mainly in South West) and a White Stuff lambswool cardigan so I have a new outfit for work.

    6) Picked up my clean washing from mum and dad's.

    7) Got lots of jobs done! 2 letters ready for the post, tomato and sunflower plants re-potted, bathroom and stairs cleaned, bins emptied etc.

    8) My school friend phoned.

    9) My brother came round and we had chips from the van. He got the washing machine working (sort of!) so I can deal with the washing that has piled up again.

10 In bed with two hwb and about to watch Casualty and/or Holby.

NEW HENS SHOULD BE HERE TOMORROW!

Evening all (after goodness knows how long awol) :hello:

    Five pleasures for Saturday:

    1. Bought a new mattress last week. My old one was so uncomfortable that I was waking a lot and feeling perpetually tired with an aching back so I decided that replacing it was essential. I am still not used to waking feeling rested but I did, again, this morning. Lovely. :)

    2. Today has been punctuated with phone calls from DS1 reporting results from the competition he's at this weekend with children from the club. Pleased he wanted to stay in touch - some good results too.

    3. Made it down to the allotment and started serious work on getting things ready for planting. I am very, very behind. :o Had a good chat with a neighbour whom I hadn't seen since last year which was lovely.

    4. Removed all the remaining leeks, one teeny weeny lone celeriac and a couple of celery hanging on from last season. Have now made a vat of leek and spud soup. Will have a go at a celery soup and a mixed veg soup (ie bottom of the fridge left overs) tomorrow.

    5. Our agent did a house check last week so everything is still really tidy and clean which is fantastic.

    Sweet dreams

Find myself actually following the Mariners with more excitement than the hatters at the mo!
    1) lazy Saturday morning catching up on 2 episodes of line of duty while turning into a prune in the bath. Multitasking :-)
    2) lunch time concert friend playing Liszt, Beethoven and Chopin
    3) went to his house after to meet Bertie, 8 year old jack Russell
    4) brought Bertie back here, lovely long walk with the boys.
    5) then another friend came round and we had a lovely evening. Bertie seems settled in the kitchen, the boys in the hall (where they usually sleep) and cat in my room. Fingers crossed we al get. Good nights sleep (friend in dd2's room as she staying with her bf)

I haven't posted on this thread before and these were yesterday's pleasures really but I'm feeling so happy and I just wanted to share them because, for the first time since my heart attack

    1. I've spent 3 whole days on the allotment weeding and planting with no ill effects :)
    2. I've hit the target weight the doctor gave me and am 2 stone lighter than I've been for many years.
    3. I walked our dog for 2 miles at a quick pace yesterday and didn't get breathless at all.
    4. On the new regime the dogs lost weight too and looks very slim and fit (insofar as a small scruffy terrier can look fit).
    5. I just feel so much better, and am very thankful for doctors and nurses who do such a fantastic job.
