I didn't have to wake up to the sound of an alarm clock this morning.

    Leisurely cuppa in bed.

Off out for a cooked breakfast, for free as we have vouchers to use.

Have some seeds to plant in the garden, the soil is just right for digging and pottering about after the rain.

Am off to town after the breakfast to have a stroll along the riverbank.

Tonight I am cooking a roast with a massive cut of reduced priced lamb- lamb is a rare treat in this house.

Waves hello from the love shack , toastie warm from the log fire....just had a lovely baked potato for tea after a very busy day out and about.

Woke up early , croissants and jam for breakfast, kookaburra on the tree out front,

Went and said good morning to Pelicans

Lots of driving, lots of stopping at lovely places.

Fell whilst walking along a bushland path trying to find a beach ( was the most stunning beach when we eventually found it) hurt my knee and wrist, I reckon I will be sore in the morning.

Had a picnic in a little town on the snowy river called Orbost, then did a very windy drive to a place called Buchan and we went down , down, down into caves. Fabulous if a bit claustrophobic!

Saw so many kookaburras today and a sandy ( ginger) wombat , that are only found in this part of Victoria. I was so excited to see it.

Sun was setting as we were coming home, watched the possums being fed again and then had tea.

    Have a good day :)

Now here is clue number 7. You've missed the previous six!

5 BoPsie dared to question the culinary skills of BoP yesterday, and motioned that as we were out of gravy mix. Proper gravy, not that B stuff, that we could get a packet of the B stuff and it can come from the kettle. Fortunately last night there was no frost, and her bed in the shed was a little ruff. I have called the locksmith!

4 On the culinary note, this day BoP is about to make a snorker fest. Mustard mash, with proper butter, four butchers snorkers, and especially for VJs Mamma, them doorstep carrots, peas and cabbage. Served with proper gravy. ASlso the remains of that delicious Spotted Dick will be served up with instant lumpy custard! Rubs Tum in anticipation.

3 DD Not looking good for the Mariners! Finger nails are disappearing faster than the hairs on my back! Nerves!

2 Day BoP shopped in w8rs and we managed to spend a grand total of £28 on the shop. W8rs Rice Pops were purchased as well as proper cloudy lemonade. Burp!

We're are not idiots round here, just daft!

    Edit

Was Snorkers and mash. Now it is Toad in Hole with mini roast tatties. Ready to rub Tum!

    Edit

Aunt Baysey can't make mini roast tatties like BoP. Today Rosemary infused roasties, with pepper and parsley. Tum is Rubbed.
  • 1) Daisies on the grass sward in the sun shining like stars in the night sky.

    2) Walking along a footpath I don't often go along and finding it is lined with the palest of lilac coloured violets along one of it's margins.

    3) Birds in profusion with beaks full of insect life frantically flapping between nest and ground.

    4) Crab apples in blossom on the footpath.

    5) My front garden silver birch is covered in the tiniest of spring green leaflets, so pretty!

Firth, Did your hens arrive at their new home today?
    1. Fresh bread rolls with grilled sausages this morning was delicious.
    2. Making shepherd’s pie from scratch tonight and meal planning based on last night’s haul, enough left for lunch tomorrow and extra filling makes spag bol for tomorrow evening.:)
    3. We went to Wickes for a fence post and a little wood which is now cemented into the garden for the junk door to close against.
    4. I’ve been welling up all day, it’s been nice to be able to grieve a little our chap, trying to keep a happy face on at work as obviously new, and to be fair most people don’t really understand the whole being attached to animals.:)
    5. Dragging the garden kicking and screaming into shape, it's lovely to see the seeds starting to come through.:D:D

PK hugs re the loss of your furry friend, they are such a big part of our families so only right we mourn their passing.

Mhags your lurve shack some sublime

    Some recent pleasures include

All the beautiful colours of Spring, suddenly there are Bluebells everywhere and the Rapeseed is slowly turning all the fields a bright yellow.

Vet did a house call so Rosie dog didn't have to suffer the stress of a visit to the surgery she hates. Pleasure was that despite her advancing years she is in relatively good health, just a bit of arthritis in elbows and hips. Keeping her weight down and walks max 20 mins will keep it to a minimum.

With the nights turning colder again if was a pleasure to put the brushed cotton sheets back on.

There's is tiny wren nesting in the roof over our well, I love these birds and spend ages standing at the kitchen sink watching their coming and going.

On Friday evening there was three field mice stuffing their faces on the bird table!

Went into Cambridge for haircut, had a look round the shops but apart from some olive & thyme candles didn't spend, the candles smell wonderful.

Lunch today with Mum, love her heart she knows we are watching intake of carbs and sugar so rather than dessert did a sublime cheese board with berries, yum.

    Welcome capella :)

    1. Have had a rather dull weekend, which isn't particularly pleasurable but at least I do now feel like I've properly got over the school trip after having a very long lie-in this morning zzzzzz

    2. Just opened an exciting email from my boss-to-be, the new school is going to be awesome, so different to what I'm used to. Lots of exciting changes going on there and I'll be in the thick of them, yay! :):)

    3. DD and I made delicious apricot fairy cakes tonight; after a weekend of tension between us, caused by her grumpiness over a tiny bit of homework that she dragged out until we were all fed up with it (and her), it was a lovely ending!

    4. Feeling reasonably prepared for the week ahead. All of a sudden, a 7 week term feels more doable...

    5. The NHS (yet again!)
