Some pleasures for last few days,
Seeing the funny side of hanging on to piece of trellis in the high winds of storm Katy, or whatever her bloomin name was, as Captain Scarlet hammered nails into temporary wooden batons. Suspect the weight of the honeysuckle doesn't help with the stability of said trellis.
Eating half an Easter egg on Monday afternoon coz was starting a diet on Tuesday.
Managing to book half day tomorrow within half an hour of arrival at workplace Tuesday morning they might love me but the feeling isn't mutual unfortunately.
My man purchased a plunger and we no longer have a badly draining shower, kinda miss the footbath effect though.
Spending this afternoon with my equine pal in the sunshine, he listens to my moans, grumps and doesn't judge, what a guy.
Hurrah to Kittikins on new job, well deserved Cointreau I say.
Many happy returns of the day to Mhags0 -
Good evening everyone :hello:
Kittikins - woohoo on the new job! Go you! :T:beer::T:beer:
By the way, if anyone happens to live in/near Spalding then my friend's school is looking for a Reception teacher. DM me if you want the name of the school.
Pleasures for the last couple of days:
1) Coffee out with a friend. She paid.
2) New iron bought. Not a pleasure as it means that I have to do some now...
3) Cooked this lamb and chickpea casserole for supper. Delicious. Went to my local butcher for some English lamb as the only stuff in the supermarket was from New Zealand.
4) NPDs - trying to walk everywhere anyway to slim down...
5) Reading my book. Great stuff.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Quick pleasures for today:
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Went to shops for pyjamas for sons.
3) Ikea! Salmon for dinner.
4) Popped in to see my aunty.
5) Sons dropped by.
6) Made crab salad for my tea, which was very tasty.0 -
1. Feeling pants with yet another horrible feverish cold. The pleasure is that DD made my bed for me and put me in it! Love being looked after.
2. The glorious sunshine!
3. Got my 'Dennis Healys' sorted out (eyebrows) - the world is a brighter place for me now, lol
4. Managed (just) to keep my cool when a certain person was being unnecessarily irritating!
5. Lovely FB chats with a couple of friends who I don't get to see often enough0 -
New (to me) car was bought from dealer A and taken to dealer B (manufacturer) who carried out a visual check and confirmed warranty intact for another 2 years. Car went back to dealer A for the free polish and treatment on my car yesterday but this has now revealed two brown patches that look like rust
When questioned I was advised to wash it with the special free shampoo they gave me and "see how it goes" .... feeling fobbed off I phoned dealer B and it will be going there this morning to see if it is rust (and if so why they did not pick it up on the visual inspection last week) and if it is covered on manufacturers warranty or if I have to go back to dealer A. I hate cars .. and car dealers
So I need to find some pleasures
1. lovely sunshine
2. had my hair cut and coloured (£40) pleasure was having a good chinwag with hairdresser friend of a friend who works from home) and a good old moan about my car !
3. Liver and onions with mash for dinner
4. lovely sunset
5. early night.
DS has been on early shift for last 3 days so he's been getting up at 4am but I've been awake each day before his alarm goes off - combination of this stinking cold and worry about my car I think. Snottery colds all round it seems! I have snotted and sneezed and sniffed all day....my poor nose is red raw. However, I don't get them very often and in a few days it should be better.
Work is done for 36 hours. Back in at silly o'clock on Saturday but a whole Friday off..woohoo
My lovely 93 year old customer gave me an easter egg .
I saw a possum on the phone wires as I walked to the station this morning
Home with some just out of date biscuits, some caramel slice and some brownies.....fine for us to eat ...just not paying customers.
Finally got paid....last weeks seemed to have been missed ( 3 rd time now!)
Came through the garden gate and my lovely dog boy just leaned against me...as if oh mum I'm so glad you're home.0 -
Belated happy birthday MHags -and yay to easter eggs and freebies from work (especially if you made them!) x0

Missed the cake! Oh well.
You could be missing out on BoP's adventures!
5 Just been to town, with bucket of red paint and it is chaotic. Seems everyone is inn town this morning. Never mind, grabbed a tea. And some wobbleade for the weekend. Also, the chicken bits in readiness for sticky chicken. No cake was eaten.
4 Unlike the day before yesterday, when a bacon and egg banjo was ridden. Rubs Tum. Well it was raining and BoP needs no excuses to exercise the taste buds.
3 I mentioned the Scunthorpe bus shelter the other day. Please remember April 23rd. And Port Talbot. Time to leave the FrancoGermanic Coal and Steal Federation. BoP does not need any more nonsense on this. Been the same since travelling for the twinning football match in Konningwinter in 1976, and going to Brussels. Our maths teacher then did the sums. It did not add up.
2 Night BoP is inn town at the club. Chocolate biscuits will been eaten. Does not go with wobbleade. Then home for hot buttered toast with marmite. We got some art deco bread this week. Hovis chai loaf. Not paid full price, but only 39 pennies. Got it. Would not pay the normal price. Bar Guns!
When the club rules were set against, it is obvious that we need a black ball. CDG always used the black ball.0 -
For today.
1. I got up early for bin day yesterday to realise it was also a bank hol week:rotfl:, it was bin day this time, up early, walked to hospital and straight in for the bloods and out within mins.
2. Seeing bright green finches in the garden, along with woody.
3. Downloaded a couple of free kindle books that look intriguing and I am just finishing a rather large book that kept me interested.:)
4. The primroses are out, now is the time we are thinking of camping, if it warms just a little. This is the time of year where we can see scenery through hedgerows and love spring flowers before the summer density.:j:beer:
5. A lunch to be proud of, tea, fresh whole seed bread slices, then grilled bacon, sausages and tomato’s, oven chips, eggs, beans, and a bowl of mushrooms.:o
6. Sorted out seed packets, I pondered along tidying pots trying to remember what is trying to grow back, decided if it’s trying to grow and not an obvious weed to see what it does.:D0 -
Pleasures for today
1. took car to manufacturer and thank goodness the rust that has suddenly appeared is covered by the warranty !
2. cleared most of the rubbish left by fly tippers  in the alley at the rear of our row of terraced houses and took it to the tip - tin of paint with no lid - dustbin half full of cement - thankfully well packed up in plastic bags and plastic sheeting did not mess up my car
3. manky clothes in washing machine and dried on line
4. afternoon napDS came in from work and made a cup of tea - then we both sat down to watch tv and fell asleep
5. got a good deal on my VM tv/broadband/phone contract with £8 loyalty discount for 18 months. Also got them to reduce line rental saver by £20 as they were advertising it at the wrong price on their website0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
