What a lovely sunny day!!
I got up early and went for a very long river walk
Had a browse around a local boot fair on way, but came home empty handed. Was hoping to find some cheap plants.
Had a lovely coffee in the city centre, people watching.
Came home and have spent the afternoon in the garden, lounging on the swing seat, gardening and drinking tea.
Cooking a full roast chicken dinner for tonight.
The cat has, as always been my shadow in the garden, chasing pidgeons and trying to catch the worms as I dig the garden.
Sitting inside now, can smell the roast cooking, and am browsing mse and going through my gardening books for tips and ideas this year.
I have some rhubarb growing really well, which is nice to see, and some very early tulips, lovely pale pink ones.0 -

Skint: Ta, I’ve calmed a lot since yesterday as I realised we have a camera in the car that caught it all and one of the neighbours has a house camera that also caught it. But I find it sad quite how people have become around here.
1. I used coconut oil on my face and skin last night as I didn’t have anything else in, to ease where I’d caught the sun, and it seems to work better than any other lotion, I am very impressed.:p
2. I meal planned for the next week, from the freezer, today is a shrimp salad for lunch, dinner is a pork roast joint with potato mash and veg to keep it a little bit healthier, although we will be having the cracking.
3. Watching country file for the forecast as I plan to paint the fence next week and need 3 dryish days, one before and one after, hmmm so far it’s looking like April showers every day.:o
4. Enjoying the thunder and lightning storms they rarely reach us.
5. I would clean up but the animals are enjoying bringing in the mud to much to stop their enjoyment, so I am sure it will still be there tomorrow.:rotfl:0 -
Some pleasures for the weekend,
Three loads of washing done on Saturday and dried on the line, smelt lovely but needed a good shake to get rid of several ladybirds who had infiltrated.
Having lazy time in the afternoon, reading my book and enjoying the sunshine coming through the window.
Popped to W8trose later and picked up number of YS bargains for the freezer.
Spent a while this morning watching a big old bumble bee busily digging a hole in the grass near the house.
Walking the dogs in a light jacket, no scarf, no gloves and no wellies :T
Spending the whole afternoon outside, firstly in garden and then over the yard with Bill, Captain Scarlet has caught the sun from mowing the lawn and is now living up to his name.
Now watching Great Canal Journeys with Timothy and Pru, sweet, gentle programme and perfect for Sunday evening.
Chella rather jealous of your tulips, mine are still green and growing.
PK sorry that you were treated so shabbily.
DD I too love place spotting in Grantchester0 -
Haven't been able to post in a while so thought I would pop on a list a few recent pleasures.
1- Spent some much needed quality with my sister in a much needed break back in Scotland.
2 - Getting to hampden to see a Scotland game. First in a while.
3 - Messages from a few friends I haven't spoken to in a while.
4 - Day on the Scottish coast in the sunshine (albeit not that warm).
5 - Lazy Sunday morning with my OH.
6 - Meal plan set for the week and a sensible food shop done,
7 - Made an anniversary gift for my parents today. Happy with how it turned out and really hope they like it. Another thing to be made this week.0 -
Pleasures for today
1) A lie in! Last one for a long while.
2) Did an hour or so on the allotment, spreading out the contents of the former compost heap. Said hello to Betty. No egg yet!
3) Finished the cleaning and tidying up, before sons returned.
4) A Quorn pie and roasted veg for my lunch.
5) Sons came home and we all dashed to see the new hen! She particularly liked pecking at some chunks of apple.
Sons in the usual mood they have when they've been at their father's for a while. I'm in bed with 1hwb. Smaller son is so tense he's still downstairs racing cars on the xbox for a while. :-/0 -

6. Night out with friends, meal & wine civilised.
7. Family all round at DM for tea.
8. More crochet done - managed to sell 2 items.
9. Good journeys both way on motorways.
10. Home and now off to my own bed.0 -
Hello, work is done and one teeny, tiny day off tomorrow....5 more shifts in charge and then hurrah to boss coming back! Rather over staff issues Anyway, 36 hours away from there so relax!
Left at 2.30pm instead of 3 and came home and potted up my new plants in my new plant pots. All purchased yesterday with my birthday money. Don't normally get cash but I wanted to buy stuff for the garden. I also planted all my new herb plants. I had dug bed over on Friday and OH dug some compost from compost bin through yesterday and I planted. DD2 had bought them ( with help from her dad I think!) for me. Planted my spring bulbs.
Popped into salvos on way home bought a lovely dress which was half price . We have our citizenship ceremony next week and I might wear it then.
Do have a bag of things to be handed in tomorrow.
You are all excited to be going in out in short sleeves....I am rejoicing long jeans, socks ( sigh!) . Today I walked for the train at 5.30am....jumper , gilet , big scarf ....long jeans , said socks and it was so chilly I wished I had gloves.....cue this afternoon ...25o and carrying said gilet, jumper and scarf home!
All by myself! Everyone is at work or uni and it's just me and my dog boy. Love when everyone is home but oooooh I love some peace and quiet , especially after a noisy weekend at work.
Pumpkin soup on....literally all that was in the fridge was 3/4 pumpkin and some carrots. Added some onions, some garlic, some mustard and chickpeas! No idea what it will taste like! I shall bung in some sour cream , bleand and hope for the best!
Fed up being snotty, have had 4 days of labyrynthitis ( hence no food in fridge) , now have sore lips....you know when your lips are dry , so you lick them....then they are drier ...so you lick them....that!
Our clocks changed back yesterday, a blessed and much needed extra hour in bed , lighter in the morning but 6.30pm now and dark. .
Right, I'm off to blend some odd soup!
Edit :
Soup was fine...and even better accompanied by free bread! DD2 came in from her new job at bakers shop with a Vienna loaf and cakes!
Meant to say we went to see Sarah Millican at the Melbourne Comedy Frestival on Saturday night , rather hilarious and a free badge at the end. It's so good to have a belly aching laugh.
Loving Betty the chicken!0 -
Alternatively, you can access BoP's posts online at ...
5 Mega snorker and tatties fest yesterday caused havoc. BoP was supposed to have a sandwich for tea, but was so sated, that he had no problem being full, he did not have any. Crumpets were eaten later, hot buttered and with marmite!
4 Please do not mention the cricket!
3 Managed to watch a new serial on tv, Maigret with Rowan Atkinson. Nearly got tv down as low as button 2, but it was close. Another film was watched last night after the triumphant BoP won at Scrabble. Angels One Five.
2 Morrow BoP has another interview, though not inn Sparralands.
There is another way of putting it!0
