  • It is the end!

5 Just crumbs will be left of the Xmas cake from last Christmas. The box will be cleansed, ready for another mega BoP Xmas cake this November. Stay tuned for the recipe.

4 Last night watched the Rrrrrrr En All. Ne'er mind, maybe next year! At half time I took some rose tinted cottage trash tv. It is carp. Utopia and wow. No live lick BoP. Prop A Lea! And when disaster 'appens, think like BoP! As VjMams did this week as she crumbled puds instead of crumbling others!

3 Think a tom soup run is in order, with crab sandwiches. Nice. Will think a tum rub will happen as well.

2 Night is camera clubs again.

You've lived long enough now, to have made a mistake. Don't run form your mistake, but use your heart and learn from it. It is how you handle the mistake, not how it takes you down that matters, nor castrating those who have erred.
It is with the foundations, that make you grow stronger.
  • Popping in with some mid-week pleasures

1, lovely sunny afternoon more washing done
    2. only one more work day and then I'm off for 2 weeks :j
    3. chats with DP's who are arriving Monday for a week - DF's putting up my new garden fence which should be delivered tomorrow

    4. DS had his interview today - I think they really put him through his paces by the sounds of it so fingers crossed - he should hear within 2 weeks

    5. my "new to me" car still looks shiny and driving well no problems so far ! The last 2 cars I have had someone has crashed into them within the first few weeks of me owning them so am trying to think positive with this one :p
    6. DS has gone out for meal with his work pals so I've just had a chilli chicken oven pizza picked up at Aldi - twas cheap and cheerful and no real cooking required as I dislike cooking so much !
Have a good evening everyone x

  • 1) all 5 in one today, I've been sitting on a pup all day for some friends in their 80s who went off this morning for a routine hospital visit. They've just got home now as there was a suspicion that Mike had had a second stroke. Poor loves they've been poked, prodded, scanned etc. and have waited and waited for information, the battery on their mobile phone died and they were not told they could leave until 7 o clock but were told he couldn't drive so had to get a daughter to drive them home in their car. I've just taken pup back and left them making supper and having a cuppa, they are shattered but like me Oh so relieved. The phone call I had to say they were back and OK makes ALL 5 pleasures today, and breathe!!!.

    1. I’ve just watched First Dates this week and it was really really sweet watching two ladies talk so long the restaurant was closing around them.
    2. Our little guy was bouncing about in the garden, enjoying himself.:)
    3. We popped out today and made sure we had his favourite treats in and bought some comfort chocolate for us from £land while we were at it.:o
    4. DH and I have spent the day ambling around talking a lot.
    5. I have been opting for easy food for a few days, must get back into gear.:o

    Morning all, pleasures for yesterday

Lovely walk round London, I walked for 2 hours yesterday
Had the office to myself for about 3 hours, then someone came in, we said "hello" and then it was silence again until 4.30 when we said "goodbye". :rotfl: I am not used to being anywhere so quiet.
Great meeting with a well published Australian woman about my thesis. I still think I should have a more concrete question by now, but am trying not to panic and keep reading, reading, reading
Contacted a couple of ex students to organise preliminary meetings, re thesis
Got some great YS bargains in the supermarket for 48p - asparagus, lemons, jacket spuds and bananas that are in the freezer ready for banana bread making
After fruitlessly searching for a birthday card for DS (17 today ) I found I had the perfect one at home...

Off into brum with DS for a slap up birthday breakfast /brunch then to the guitar shop for the guitary bits he wants, out for a meal later after DD gets back for Easter..

    Have a goodun all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Mrs L am glad your friend is ok. Sorry had to giggle at your statement though "I've been sitting on a pup all day " poor thing must be squashed :rotfl: (sorry childish but couldn't help it)

VJsmum - Happy Bday to your DS 17 today .... cant believe mine is 21 this year

    Pleasures for today

1, Its Friday and now I am off work for 2 weeks :j

    2. bacon buttie for breakfast (buttie or butty ?? always looks rude when written down lol ... maybe it should be sarnie ! )

    3. work passed quickly 6.30 - 12.30 and then got home for new fence being delivered - and it arrived on time! It looks huge (7 feet tall !!) but we will at least have some privacy from next door who moved in and chopped down all the lilac trees and shrubs that had been there for years (on their side). DF and DS are putting it up next week

    4. picked up repeat prescriptions which thankfully are free and then got sneaky McD's for lunch :p

    5. afternoon nap :o looking forward to Chinese belly pork & stir fry for tea and catching up on some tv ... x-files, Grantchester and How to get away with murder on the cards for tonight

Did I mention 2 weeks off work

Some pleasures for last few days,

Did some yoga for first time in three years, oh my life I am not as flexible as I was :rotfl:

Sunny and warmish on Wednesday afternoon, took my equine pal for a walk down the lane with our friends, apart from minor meltdown at air-brakes on bus he was a good boy.

Read my latest Robin Hobb book in under a week.

Enjoying the spectacular boundary catches in the T20 World Cup, oh and we did ok against SA..

Giant choc buttons and cold beer for Friday night treats. Along with Gogglebox, as always.

Rather a sad day Thursday as we said good bye to a friend after a long battle with breast cancer.
    1) it was a beautiful service, taken by the minister at Roxburgh house where she had been going for the drop-in
    2) she'd planned her funeral which again was lovely and included some funny memories from her partner and children, read out by the minister.
    3) she died Mothering Sunday. My friend I went with said fitting for someone so devoted her life to her children. Her gran died Independence Day, which her grandad felt fitting for someone so independent. Hope I don't go on Halloween lol
    4) dogs had rolled in fox poo during morning dog walker walk. Phooey. Fortunately dog groomer booked that afternoon. Still a slight aroma of eau de Renard but much better than when they got back
    5) spent lovely afternoon with my mum and daughter. We went to dun elm and I bought sister purple onesie for her birthday in the sale. And a red one for me :=)
