Been feeling out of sorts lately so haven't really posted much but here are some pleasures for the day.
1 - New dress to wear to work. Slightly MSE as it was bought massively discounted.
2 - Treated to drinks at work so a lovely chai tea this afternoon.
3 - Old team member returned today!
4 - Made chicken schnitzel tonight for the first time and it was really nice with baby potatoes and sweetcorn.
5 - F1 back!0 -
Hello all
On my way back from dads, there are some family tensions going on between dad, brother and brothers girlfriend. All trying to share a house. All the more frustrating because Mrs Interfere here can't actually do a lot about it
Anyhow, some pleasures
1 DS enjoyed. His birthday, we went to the Boston Tea Party for breakfast/lunch (look it up there are various around). He didn't get his guitar bits as he was talked out of it by the shop. So he is owed a present. He is a happy boy though because his phone needed upgrading and he now has an iPhone, so all is well.
2 DD came back for Easter and we went out for a birthday meal. I had liver, yum yum. And, more to the point, the children talked to each other  DS lemon drizzle birthday cake went down a storm
3 travelled down to dads yesterday,. He treated us to take away, I treated us to wine.
4 saw my lovely sister today and she is doing really well
5. Coming back through St Pancras, there was someone playing one of the pianos there and a group of people standing round singing "Volare". Fabulous,. Though I am now singing it and you will be too. You're welcome :rotfl:
6 took the opportunity to call in to university library to pick up ordered books. How fab to have 24/7 access, which saves me going tomorrow.
Have a great night all. I won't be home for a couple of hours Yet.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Some pleasures for the weekend include,
Up early Saturday morning, quiet first cuppa of the day leaning against kitchen sink watching the birds busy on the feeders and table.
Mum and I went to the Arts Theatre in the afternoon for performance of Hobsons Choice, enjoyed it immensely even if Martin Shaw's lancastrian accent slipped into something slightly more scottish at one point
Enjoyable evening spent with hollow-legged stepsons, watching them demolish a Chinese takeaway is something to behold, eldest one took the leftovers back with him for breakfast, student life I guess :rotfl:
Captain Scarlet and youngest son left early this morning to head north east for Tyneside derby so have had rare day at home by myself, have pottered and pootled around to my hearts content. Did pop out to W8rose and pick up couple of YS bargains including roasted onion humous for 59p.
Day off tomorrow so no slightly sinking Sunday feeling, candles lit and book waiting for me.0 -
Tomato ketchup? Thanks skint shall certainly try that out [STRIKE]should [/STRIKE]when the need arises!
Lovely weekend. For yesterday
1) dd2 and I went to mr l for weekly shop. £25
2) walked dogs to library with dd2 then she went on to work and I went home to
3) start springclean. So nice to have the windows wide open. Kitchen now looking much better, and hall and bathroom
4) off to friend's for the rugby. Fantastic. A Welshman, an Englishman, a Scotsman, and an irishman sit down to watch some rugby. Starting to sound like a joke
5) but the laugh is on the punsters. Grand slam yay
And for today
1) up with the lark (well a late lark), stripped the bed, washing on, bath, washing hung out in glorious sunshine all before church
2) glorious service. The passion was acted out by the not so young church - very moving
3) lunch with 2 of them. Italian (shhh no one mention the rugby)
4) then off to play for ceilidh at afternoon Baha'i new year party. Met a couple of friends I haven't seen for yonks
5) then home to springclean bedroom, including sprinking mattress with bicarbonate, leaving for 30 mins then vacuuming off. Repeated for carpet, and polished all surfaces with proper wood polish. Smells lushMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Need to get back to posting my pleasures
1. Ds2 got through his interview last week to stage 2 assessment.
2. Lovely sunshine this morning.
3. Lunch out & nice bottle fizz.
4. Uniform for ds2 ironed(love ironing shirts)
5. Sat crocheting some cotton facecloths for pressies.0 -
Quick pleasures as am feeling giddy and sicky... :-/
1) A lie in!
2) Bigger son went to a car boot sale and got himself an engineering vice.
3) Smaller son and I went to Sainsburys and B and Q for more timber.
4) Had scones at mum and dad's.
5) Dad and I compared comedy injuries. I got mine from kneeling down to put something in the freezer then standing up and nearly lopping my arm off on the open fridge door. Then went upstairs to see smaller son (lying in his bunk playing on the laptop) and smacked my other arm on the bunk bed rail!
Dad got his by tinkering with his ear defenders. He pulled one away from his ear a bit then, as he let it go, the soft ear bit fell off so the pointy bit sprang back and cut his head!!
6) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
7) Work continues on the hen house. Brother knows someone who works at the WHO hen house (who knew there was such a thing!) so not sure where my ex cage hens will come from now.
8) Thought I'd got a pheasant from the freezer yesterday. All offerings from brother come in plastic supermarket bags. A surprise to open it and find an enormous cockerel. Took all evening to cook so will have chicken sandwiches/chicken curry over the next few days.0 -
Frith has the curry! I am thinking of the stove!
At last, the BoP post is ready to read.
5 DoG Pot, recipe somewhere, will be made on Thursday this week, so watch this space. In the meantime, BoP will make do with some crusty pie of the pork variet. The Ginger cake from yesterday was well used at elevenses. Rub Tums
4 The new boat is to be named Boaty McBoatface, you could vote here, but their website is down!

3 Interview at 3 O'clock for another post. Crossed fingers.
2 Raffles is currently dining in neighbours house. Seems our delicious fish cat food is not of his liking. Typical. We just get the vet bills.
Jeff has started his walk. Hartlepool to Marske #JeffsMarch0 -
I so want to vote for Boaty McBoatface. I can't stop laughing.0

1. Home again and back to my wonderful deep, cosy, king bed with its firm mattress and plenty of room for the three of us - dog, mog and myself - and most importantly no bumps to navigate
2. Spent time with DS on Thursday and before returning home on Sunday, so good to see him as we don't often get the opportunity. DS doing well and slowly coming to terms with the mutual ending of his 10-year relationship. All very amicable, he gets to see the children as often as he can which is a relief. His landlady/second mum has recently adopted a gorgeous black lab x rescue, Berkely, who is good company for him
3. Some very difficult decisions made, a weight off my shoulders
4. Bought two rare editions which I thought impossible to find, not exactly OS but priceless to myself so excellent value for money
5. Returned home with a horrid chest infection/flu symptoms but pharmacy delivering repeat scrip and more anti-b's and steroids. Thank you NHS, please stand your ground and don't let the bar stewards grind you down. Where would we be without you?
Have a good rest of the day0 -
1. Ticked an item off my bucket list on Friday -got to see one of my biggest icons live on stage!
2. Spent quality time with OH
3. Bought a few beauty and make up bargains from TK Maxx!
4. OH having a half day off work to celebrate our 7 year wedding anniversary
5. Having a big cuddles with LO this morning...priceless!'Never give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about';):)0
