3.We had barely seen anything when it was closing time already.:o
4.Found cheap food and drink which was fantastic quality, waited on and a good price, day out was last min so forgot food. we both had a hot snack and big drink for a tenner total.
5. Hero’s welcome when we got back in, it’s nice to feel missed…:o:o0 -
After a very lean past 2 weeks due to lots of medical expenses , boss 'forgetting ' my pay ( that's happened twice now) , me doing silly short weeks , payday has finally came around again, big 2 have paid their rent and so we start again!
Work! Well. Was a blooming disaster when I went in, place was a tip so had to get that sorted. Newish staff member was 'oh we've been so busy I haven't even unwrapped the food in fridge.....4 hours after opening everything still covered in cling film or glad wrap as we call it here, no sandwiches made. Now I know from the till how busy we've been ....not so busy that you can't take the wrap off or make a sandwich. Nothing ordered.
Oil in fryer needed changed but hadn't been, nothing made for front of house. Anyway! Mhags is back, Mhags is in charge and Mhags will get them all sorted out ! Mhags does not have 2 days off in a row for 4 weeks!
DD2 came in to help me close up. Got a seat on the train home ...an achievement at that time of day.
Pizza for tea.
Watching UK masterchef , don't know if I will be able to keep up as Australian Masterchef is starting 'soon' whenever that will be.
Got our invitation to our citizenship ceremony, .....funnily enough posted on the day I phoned the council on Tuesday.
We need to pop out to supermarket tonight as nothing will be open tomorrow on Good Friday , it's a very big holiday here and we will be one of the few cafes open. Supermarkets are closed all day. Need fruit . I brought leftover bread home from work.
Enjoy your day0 -
The story has already be written, now all we need is the film rights!
5 Watched a flick last night. JW against baddies, and them from Mexico were indeed rogues! Cracking shots with the rifle, from miles away. Incredible! Jake. Pretty rough shod!
4 Had a wobbleade too. Raffles had a treat, but seemingly did not want to finish it.
3 More interviews now lined up for next week, and no I am not heading back to SparraLands either.
2 Night we will be doing Dog Pot, with eight best butchers, not emporium rusk, snorkers in tom sauciness. Toe nail onions will also be included, as well as the usual BoPiness with the chilli and other ingredients.
And Cleethorpes Pier has become Pier of the Year!0 -
Been busy enjoying my time off.
1. Tidied the garden - moved all off DH stuff/rubbish to one place and cut the grass - it's not in good enough condition to be called a lawn.
2. Planted my onion sets and potatoes after preparing the vegetable beds for them obviously with help from my chickens.
3. Enjoying listening to the birds.
4. Walked to postbox and admired the daffodils and other flowers on way there. Neighbour offered me a lift back and was good chatting to her.
5. Chats with DS1 and DS2 on the phone and work for DS1 has gone well.0 -
1) We had a night of triumph last night and won both the pub quiz and the snowball which had rolled over for 7 weeks, very nice indeed!
2) Had a mob of goldfinches on the seed heads in the garden this morning, such bright little birds, I watched them for half an hour just munching away and then realised that there was a wren in the pots on the patio doing the same thing and hopping round under the pansies. super stuff.
3) Met Sue and Charlie retriever again today out on our walk this afternoon, the two dogs are always so very pleased to meet each other it's a real pleasure to watch the greeting and let them walk together.
4) We have a little rain today which will be very good for the plots, it's been dry for quite a while now so the rain is a pleasure for the gardens.
5) Have done some preparing of things like crumble mix for He Who Knows to use while I'm away next week in Sweden with DD1, he's a good cook but it's nice to leave him a few ready to use things if he needs them.0 -
1. The kitchen fan thing needed deep cleaning, I replaced the fan filter and more cleaning, what an exciting pastime eh, discovered broken tiles in the kitchen while cleaning it which isn’t so great but it’s long past overdue for renovating.:o
2. I received a call about another interview somewhere else I have also booked in.
3. Old bedding off, clean bedding on, must be bath time tonight:rotfl:
4. DH helped with some serious deep cleaning today we got twice as much done spent a full 4 hours both cleaning and tidying.:)
5. The l%dl shop came to a grand total of £14 although it did look like the place had been robbed and didn’t have a fair bit I listed.:)0 -
Evening all.
1 - Managed a little bit of snoozing after my OH left for work super early. Not much, but a little.
2 - A couple of friends visited work today which was really nice. Always good to catch up.
3 - One of the above friends brought me a cookie which went down a treat with a cuppa in the afternoon.
4 - Home and finished with my mission to tidy up/organise the house. Feels more relaxing now. Some piles of stuff to go to recycling and charity shop but I'm ok with that as it's sorted and ready.
5 - One more night and then my sister arrives for a visit! Yay!0 -

Lol at Frith's foot in mouth syndrome. Have i told you my classic? years ago we went out for dinner with a colleague of OH's and his wife. We got talking about suicide on the railways (as you do) - the colleague was a train driver who had been unfortunate enough to get several. So i said (trying to lighten it a bit) "ooh it could be like the air force in the war, when they shot down a plane they put a sticker on the cockpit - you could have done that on the train cab". Yep, the colleagues wife was GERMAN :rotfl: :eek::eek: "don't mention the war"..... Fortunately she saw the funny side and still recounts the tale herself today...
:o
Pleasures for last few
Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where the birdies is. Well actually the birdies are outside my bleeding window at 4.30 every morning.
Walking up to a friend's house this morning to deliver her DDs 21st birthday card - and her parents 70th!!! wedding anniversary card :T:eek: - beautiful morning and i saw a human sized hen and two chicks driving up the road in a jeep :rotfl:
Trialling the 16:8 diet to try and shift a few pounds, it's ok - probably better than 5:2 for me at the moment.
We decided we needed to take a firmer hand with meals and meal planning and the quality of the cuisine has improved - lasagne (i layer mine with thin slices of sweet potato, carrot and courgette instead of pasta), paella, jacket spuds, beef in beer, but tonights treat is left over curry from the indian restaurant as i am eating alone.
Good day in London - I went later and resented the journey less (i am always ok when i get there but 6.00 starts weren't doing a lot for me)
Since DS turned 17 he has been <<whisper>> a bit nicer. I am sure we aren't out of the woods yet but it's been pleasanter. Don't get me wrong, he isn't really a bad lad but is bl00dy rude at times.
Getting to grips with social theory - I have effectively taken a crash course in A level sociology. The hardest bit is sifting out the bits that are not usable when everything is interesting.
Daffodils - see#1
Have a lovely easter weekend all - off to ice cream town on Sunday.I wanna be in the room where it happens0
