Shellsmithcat I can relate to throwing the windows open.
1. Clean hair, bath and clean clothes to try and feel better.:o
2. Pleasures; found 2 more tins of soup, almost elated, will blitz what’s left of the veg in with it later.
3.With all the animals here we need to do a bit of cleaning each day, I must be getting better as while I can’t do anything about it I know it still needs doing.:p
4.I managed to chuck the towels through the wash.
5. Enjoying seeing all the birds in the garden.
I’m really hoping to be able to battle this without steroids as I’ve only just shifted the weight of the Christmas ones.0 -

1) Two buzzards wheeling effortlessly over the common on the thermals of this warm and honeyed day.
2) Got He Who Knows an Anne Cleeves book for £1 in the charity shop today.
3) We're watching the World T20s too BOP, Afghanistan are playing magnificently and so are Oman, enjoying the cricket very much and looking forward to the IPL 20 20s a little later in the year, magic stuff.
4) The England Wales 6 Nations game we've just watched on TV, sterling stuff from both sides, a good way of spending an afternoon!
5) Walking the Cookster this afternoon in the warm and sun, so very lovely after all the cold walkies we've had of late, no hat, no gloves, no scarf just a light jacket and time to wander not rush back to the fireside, LOVELY!!!0 -
Very early good morning from Melbourne, it's still dark and I noticed it was darker much earlier last night . If only the temperature would reflect the time of year!
Pleasures from last few days include:
The bit before and and the bit after work on Friday!
A lovely Saturday off , I was up early , had a lovely chat with my sister on phone , pottered around, enjoyed the tranquility of being the only person awake , just me and my dog. It feels like such a long time since I've had that early morning peace. Usually I'm either rushing to get out or I'm hurrying up someone to get out so it was lovely.
Much needed grocery shop done and most things bought were on offer.
The smell of apples. We can buy apples all year round but just now it's autumn and apple season and its a smell that reminds me of Halloween and autumn at home .
Cooler day ...26 o but 80% humidity ...so still a sweaty Betty. But we got out in the front garden , it's really been too hot to do much since we put stuff in skip a few weeks ago. 6foot tall son helped and sawed down the remains of 2 massively overgrown bushes / trees. OH strimmed and I replanted some pots at front door then swept up all the leaves / eucalyptus bark that had gathered at far side of garden fence ( on big corner plot....a lot of sweeping! ) and chucked it over into garden to use as mulch.
Then we laid down bags and bags of mulch. Then we had to go and get more bags and bags of mulch but got a better deal than last time, I bought a lovely big pot for my lemon tree but managed to negotiate $10 off as it had a scrape on it...don't ask , don't get and it will be hidden from view.
There may have been a snoozette after all that fresh air!
Watched Philomena, what a lovely film.
DD2 has got herself a new job. She's been very fed up with current one at my cafe for a while ( I can share her fed up ness at times) so was told to be proactive and do something rather than just moan about it. She will tell boss today when she does her shift.
Today we are going on a road trip , so up early for that. Hmmmmm....I would be happy with another day at home but my company has been requested!0 -

Ooo, new car, Skint!
Pleasures for today. Have had a really apathetic today and have annoyed myself with how little I have achieved.
1) A lie in.
2) Went to the allotment with my brother, sister and niece. Spoke to the owner and we allowed to keep chickens! Bigger son is very pleased; he has been designing hen pens for days.
3) Went into town and had lunch (quiche) at my favourite caf!.
4) Had chips from the van and managed not to get into an argument with our local councillor (Tory, of course) who decided to tell me to vote out of Europe and that the other 26 states are (and I quote) "stupid buggrs". Charming.
5) Enjoyed Casualty this evening.0 -
A few from the last week or so.
1. Enjoying daffodils - some from the garden and I did buy some reduced to 5p. They brighten the house and a few in a small vase in my hall made me smile when I came in.
2. Spent some time in the garden, planted more seeds. Some of my seedlings are already growing. I love this time of year when plants are springing into life.
3. Enjoying watching rugby on Friday night. We managed to win good as we can throw it away so easily this season. Also good that our next home match is at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon a time when rugby should be played but nowadays rarely is.
4. Made lasagne and Apple crumble yesterday which were good and enough for the freezer. Managed to cook it at same time as watching England- Wales match.
5. Met up with friends whom we hadn't seen for a while. I'm making an effort this year to see people more often. Hopefully I'll continue to manage this as its really good seeing a wider circle of friends.
6. Work has been incredibly busy and been doing overtime. I will now need to fight to claim the time back when I want it. I have already explained to my line manager that I will be unable to complete my appraisal objectives unless I'm given more admin time, which is never going to happen. I have 4 months till my appraisal so I've given plenty of notice.0 -
I miss daffodils, one of my favourite flowers and one I associate with my birthday .....not leaves falling off trees and all things autumnal.
Today the boy child had requested if we could take him to Mount Buller, which is a 3 hour drive each way. So we were all up and about early and off we set ( saying goodbye Haggis as dogs aren't allowed)
Stunning drive , I love the Victorian countryside , it's beautiful . Lots of animals, cows, sheep, goats, llamas, horses, kangaroos, herons, parrots, 3 'sleeping' wombats in middle of road! Up a very steep and windy mountain side and dropped him and his bike off.
We then had a wander. Mt Buller is mainly a winter snow resort and most places were closed which is a shame as it was so busy with cyclists and walkers. We walked to the summit...me almost, slightly freaked out at being too high, narrow path, big drop and the sound of the wind from said narrow path and said big drop! OH marched on ahead and I sat and waited and enjoyed the view but not the flies. I've never seen as many blooming flies in all my life .
We then managed to while away an afternoon ,sat in the village square and I read my book. ( and flapped at flies) then number one son rejoined us, he cycled down the steep, windy mountain and we picked him up at the bottom.
Stopped for late lunch / early tea in Mansfield which is a busy wee town in middle of nowhere . Had a nice baked potato.
Snoozed on most of way home.
Massive welcome by my favourite dog !
Work tomorrow then off for 3 days. I can do it!0 -
Hello shells that lol autocorrect try again she'll smith cat settle for ssc?
1) lazy morning with a bit of work, it due to lovely new laptop could do from itches table. Comunicated with students in Canada, Israel and Ireland
2) damp walk down town. Met lady at bus stop who needed change for a fiver. Had £4.40 which she was happy with as that particular bus either gives no change or refuses boarding. So we were both happy
3) called in at mr l for contribution to lunch, gave change to Marie curie collector
4) rugby was ace. Well a litle stressful obviously when Cole and his sharp eyeballs got sent off (and we don't talk about the hatters bop )
5) home late to finish masters for Canadian so she could start working on it in her evening. Hope my comments made sense!

Bad day then DD. We are still in tin pot competition, Wembley Wembley!
5 Did shop this morn at emporium w8rz. Surprised that punter in front managed my w8rz saving of 84 pence on £86! BoP shop saved £13 in a total for £34! Why oh why do people buy preordained foods!
4 Because BoP saved so many pennies, we had enough fur a free cup of tea as well!
3 Just done a proper crumble, none of that raspberry stuff mentioned earlier. Proper ruff cut apples, sultanas, blackberries. Topped with delicate hand rubbed all butter almond crumble. Will be dished up with some decent instant lumpy custard. Served at tea with more matured sticky chickens, and mushroom curry, and egg fried rice. All fluffy like yesterdays snorker fest!
2 Night could be a live Scrabble event! Please remember that BoPsie is only one win away from the chance of two on the bounce! We are not mentioning the cribbage at the moment!
