Skint: I admire your “no takeaways” in your signature, and I couldn’t agree more with reference to paper filing sadly our so called office is testament to that.
We were out all weekend.
1. Up at a ridiculously early for a day out on Saturday it cost us in fuel to get to the RAF base but it was a lovely day out, took lots of photos and a great one of dh sitting in a red arrow, we were treated to lunch in the officers mess.:T
2. The following day we travelled again over to MIL for family mother’s day it was nice to catch up again, but we both do find it hard as everyone holds cross conversations across each other and both DH and I have hearing issues so can’t filter it out.:o
3. No washing up all weekend as when we were here we were also loaded up with leftovers.
4. Various things need doing today that I suspect will be there tomorrow as well so instead I’ve re-potted the baby hoya to a grown up pot and put it next to the other hoya, although the adult hoya needs thinning down as it’s blocking daylight now. I’ve also noticed literally none of my seed trays have done anything I would have expected something after 3 weeks dam.
5. I did about an hours’ worth of paperwork filing and shredding a pleasure to get it out of the way.:)
6. Dinner will be leftover chicken, quiche bits, hm salad and some sort of hot potato bacon thing that’s in a packet in the fridge from leftovers.:rotfl:0 -
Good morning from Tuesday and my day off number 1 ( there are 5 of them this week for some reason)
Monday's pleasures:
Free train to work.
Home from work ( the bit in the middle was all rather crazy and busy)
Got a lovely cover for my phone in our local newsagents rtc, rtc and then rtc some more and I only paid $4 . The old one was the most awful looking thing that I inherited from my husband and never liked but less likely to be dropped down a loo / or smashed . Now a pretty red colour with a cream band round the middle.
Watched Call the midwife with DD1 .
Dinner was a hotchpot of whatever came out the freezer!0 -
Evening all
Monday pleasures
1 - Back to work today and it went fairly well.
2 - Home to a gorgeous delivery of flowers from my sister. She is so sweet. See her in 2.5 weeks!
3 - Small amount of organising done.
4 - Email to say I had won a tea hamper. Woo more tea!
5 - YS bagels bought on the way home and popped in the freezer for breakfast treats some days.0 -
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Work actually went OK.
3) Dropped stuff off at charity shop after work.
4) Car broken window, wedged in place with chocks, hasn't slid back down!
5) Planted: courgettes, pumpkins, tomatoes, lavender, pansies and sunflowers.
6) Bit of a tidy up.
7) Brother went on the allotment while I was at work and has mended fence a bit and lopped off overhanging ash branches. Bigger son spent the evening drawing designs for hen houses........
8) Have been doing various admin/email things all evening including ordering a new car window regulator from Ebay.0 -
Day off and what a hot day it's been 41 blooming degrees!
Poor DD2 witnessed a girl of a similar age throw herself in front of the train in the city. She's on work placement for week and was waiting on another girl getting off the train to travel on to placement, so they were very delayed. Poor child, poor child's family and as always my heart goes out to the poor train driver , who's life will never be the same.
Dropped clean teatowels at work. You would be impressed with my stealth, in and out with minimal interaction!
Brunch with OH wh had day off.
Counselling appointment ....quickest hour ever .
Then off for a jaunt to the stunning country side . OH had a coffee and then we had a wander . Bought a red gilet and a beautiful unpriced quilted throw/ blanket ...how much ? Expecting to pay $20 ....oh would $7 be okay! Absolutely! Washed and out on the line .
Stopped at chocolate factory on way home and bought 2 ice creams. Shared with Haggis.
Home!
Have a lovely day0 -
Terrible news mhags for all involved.

2) New to me rye and oat flake porridge with shaken blueberries, pumpkin and sunflower seeds for brekkie this morning, from a new scandi cookery book I found in a CS.
3) Walking back into a warm house, I put the heating on for an hour this morning as it was 0.6 degrees outside at 8 o clock today.
4) Many different pots of seeds have now become green seedlings on the bedroom windowsills.
5) Have a whole day to myself as He Who Knows is up with DD1 and she is having some window panels replaced, I didn't sleep at all well last night so I can Zzzzzzzzzz for a bit this afternoon and just please myself what I do or don't do other than that. Once in a while this is a very nice thing!0 -
