    Some little treasures for yesterday,

Was up and out for the girls morning walk which have been missing out on, was rewarded by cold, frosty, sparkly type of morning, sun noticeably rising in different spot to even week ago.
Are you the farmer.....the fields around the house have been ploughed, watching not just the gulls following the tractor but also smaller birds like wagtails picking at the earth and oh the joy of hearing a skylark.
Breakfast at the farm shop, avec 20% voucher, Suffolk bacon and sausages + proper field mushrooms, kept us full all day.
rtc haul at BStEd emporium inc Chinese lemon chicken, delic in wrap with rocket for when supper finally needed.
Spending ages grooming Bill, removing mud from rolling and moulting hair, his head got lower and lower until dozing, only slight bottom lip tremble when Lainey reached particularly good spot.
oh and Captain Scarlet also cleaned en-suite, who needs a paper Valentine when you have such devotion.

VL many congrats on DS1 new job, always gratifying to be asked to stay.
DD good for you m'dear, respect for your generous nature.
Mhagster hurrah that you could leave so quickly for OH emergency, get well wishes sent.
& oh am loving those RW storage jars and had to smile at car manual with LC bills. Lainey's papa was stable lad at his yard so many years ago when run by the veritable Captain Whitaker and told many hilarious tales of time there, it's in my blood.

There's BoP taking another curse of tablets as he continues the whole of life testing, only to find that another :heartpuls is required downunder!

5 Just bin to pharmacy to get power poppers again. Shake and rattle and roll. To be taken with fluid! Popped! No, not the blue ones! 3 a day again and relax.

4 While out, BoPsie requested some crumpets from local Coop. Walked in. OMG, £1.15 for six. No, maybe some chocolate. Nestle crunch. Not at that price. As BoP was out in new bottoms and new vest, checked my arms. they're short. Pockets deep, Coop ended up with no pennies from BoP. Avoid.

3 Breakfest! was snorkers, best back, griddled mushrooms, toms, and fried egg on toast. Washed down with loads of tea. Rubs Tum.

2 Day BoP will be watching another film. BoPsie was watching Death in Paradise. She has given up as she found it a hopeless programme. BoP gave up when the journos turned up late after the events of August 1990. Last night watched Dunkirk. Been waiting ages for that, as the precursor to the third Prussian liberation of Paris. Tonight will be another film.

Bu99er, the bear is on the loose and nobody give a hoot?

    Edit
Emporium T has written. We have got a massive £2 voucher, and look, incredible it is half term a$$ well. How does their database know so much about BoP. Will be converted into a packet of cocoa. And BoPsie has said she has had to throw away £24 worthless of vouchers as well as they were out of date. We had to spend £120 for the privilege. Avoid!
  • Mchags: I hope Mr Mchags is recovering well.
Bop: Reading about your breakfast made me hungry.

DH and I were chatting that we don’t go to Mr T much any more, which also means not to many YS. We talked about going little and often but we really don’t need to at the moment as we do tend to buy other bits when in there. We are also opting to try and avoid the shops next week as it’s half term.:o

    1. Ran Service it through the washing machine, cleaned the microwave, cleaned the oven, cleaned the floors ah you get the idea it’s cleaner.:)
    2. Porridge for brekkie but a pizza slice for lunch.
    3. When we were out yesterday I spotted bargain in well home bargains it was luxury mincemeat for 29p for 887g so I picked one up, I’m pleased I stopped at just one , we already have some rtc shortbread pastry in the freezer.:D
    4. I’ve made millionaires shortbread as DH’s valentines gift. It’s the first time I’ve made it or anything like it and I am really chuffed that it looks great, however yet to find out how it tastes.:T
    5. Looking forward to a long soak in a bit.

Quite a busy first day of half term here.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons off to their father's and have had several texts and calls from them.

    3) I went to see my school friend in Oxfordshire. Drive down pretty good.

    4) We popped out in the afternoon and saw 3 deer in a field.

    5) Had an explore of these... http://www.rollrightstones.co.uk/index.php

    6) Then went here... http://falklandarms.co.uk/home

    7) Haven't long got home. Only saw a badger on the way back, as I counted down the miles to Moreton in Marsh, Evesham, Worcester etc.

    8) In bed with 2 hwb now and about to put the radio on.

In bed with the sneezles. On the upside am watching Shetland. For yesterday
    1) found perfectly good green pepper in food recycle. I shall be charitable and consider xoh threw it in by mistake. Washed, cooked and now eaten
    2) put dressing gown on rather than the heating. Feeling :A
    3) caught up on Dickensian while doing the dusting. Really enjoying it despite not being a huge fan of reading his books (though love watching the adaptations)
    4) remembered to pick up free poo bags at library
    5) watched 6 nations at Irish friend's house with fellow Englishman. They both had this cold last week. Took Irish soda bread, Brie, white Stilton, Italian breadsticks and Orkney cheddar. Couldn't find anything Welsh so took 3 little Lindt bunnies for Welsh rabbit :rotfl:
Evening not very mse as one of dogs throwing up phlegm, watery diarrhoea, running temp so after hours trip to vets. He's now on abs and a bland diet. Having had a gsd die from twisted gut I know I'm a bit paranoid, but glad to get reassurance from vet
    MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
    25 for 25: 371 / 625
    declutter: 173 / 2025
    frogs eaten: 10
  • PK. Only here to make your mouth water!
DD. That's a new take on Welsh Rabbit!
    KK and Mhags. :heartpuls

5 Last night we could not find a Monroe or Rita. But BoPsie was all gooey eyed watched The Professionals. Someone upstart trapeze artist call Burt was in it. Might get me Monroe this week. Had a wobbleade as well as home style Sticky Chicken wings.

4 BoPsie is looking at trip over to Sparrashire in near future. More news on this later.

3 Now for those interest in BoP's culinary skills, this morning BoP had a triple egg omelette with ham and mushrooms, Raspberry Jam on toast, orange juice and tea. Rubs Tum.

2 Day will be Salmon, with home crushed spuds, and fresh garden peas. Served with homemade Parsley sauce. Might have a bit of the xmas pud again, but BoP bee stung this morning and had a mid morning snorker fest snack! Rubs Tum! Saw the punters try and argue over who got the last over priced and overrated £50 flowers! Minded BoPsie about when we got hitched in late Feb. All those heart shaped choccies going cheap as well!

If you love someone, you don't give a toss about some overrated Italian gigolo!

Morning all - AWOL again, not sure why. My life is supposed to be less busy - yeah, right...

Skint - envious of DP's 4 weeks in the sun. Could do with some myself. Had i not left my job I would be just arrived in Singapore now (ex boss had to go instead) and whilst i don't feel sad to not go - the weather would be nice..... Can't complain, we are off for a short break to Gran Canaria in 2 weeks time; you have reminded me to make some appointments for medical "things" and have now got me singing "this old house" for the rest of the day :p
BoP - I also love University Challenge. I also love reading twitter comments on University challenge - people are very funny; Only real butter chez VJ's too, though V of VJ fame tends to go for plastic in plastic version but she doesn't live here all the time; can't believe you eat Nestle though - i try to boycott though it isn't always easy
PK - How did the millionaires shortbread go? Not one i've tried, it seems too fiddly; best of luck on the job front
Mhags - what a time you are having :( Hope OH picks up soon. Good luck to DD re final 2 school years. Our DS has really come on well since going to 6th form:T I gave up sugar two years ago and am 90% (+) sugar free. Still drink wine though  my sugar hit comes from a date spread with nut butter
Beluga - glad you are improving. We have had some nice strawberries this week, too. not something i'd usually buy out of season but they've made a nice change
    Kittikins - yay for mummikins being out of hospital, hope you get a good rest for half term;
Frith - Also wishing you a good half term; impressed with your exercise regime
    Mrs LW - Your day out last week sounded lovely; i am also loving the lighter nights and mornings;
    Lainey - ah, that Captain Scarlet sounds like a keeper ;) ; couldn't get on with war and peace despite the dishiness of James Norton, have to make do with Happy Valley;
DD - well done on the weight loss; we are having paella tonight (though a chickeny, chorizoey; prawny one - i'd prefere the veg version but it won't suit the 16 year old); giving up giving up sounds good to me - the queen on twitter () is giving up giving a sh er damn - I will do as my queen tells me :rotfl:; well done on pulling up the big girls pants with bf of XOH
DforV - loving the 14 year old philosopher and the "full of wossnames"; my nearly 17 year old is still full of wossnames also; the walking dead son called John by any chance? (didddle diddle dumpling.....)
Topsy turphy - lunches out with friends are the stuff of life (more later...)
Villagelife - pleased for DS1; love your number 6, truly an OS pleasure - little girl in bright coat and wellies :); So DS's still have hollow legs when all growed up?? Bummer
    McC - return of outfit - like a shopping spree with no expense and you get something you like;
Ampersand - bummer with the failed spits journey but yay for the unexpected sale; marmalade sound delish - i used the mamade tins cos i can't be arrissed chopping all those marms

Pleasures for the last week now i'm all caughted up

    1. Nice walking to and fro station and around Lahndon. Lahndon still a novelty so it's all good. Just laughing at myself being like an elderly person crossing the roads waiting patiently for the green man while all run across around me. the sun glinting off the royal academy of music building with a blue sky behind was a wonder.
2 emerging nature - i am not up with names and types but blossom on trees, crocuses (crocii???) and snowdrops and the odd brave daff. of course, I only really like summer but have a sneaking regard to spring
    3. Got over my panic re thesis. Last week i was all cocky "yeah, i got this". this week i was "My god, this is HUUUGE". calm down dear and put one foot in front of the other
    4. Got deactivated from old work stuff. Advantage is no emails, disadvantage is I can't finish the marking i still have to do.
    5. made sourdough pizza, it worked ok but could do with some improvements. Otherwise we are still eating out of the bottomless freezer
    6. lovely day yesterday - lunch out with old school friends in Lahndon; met my girl and we went to Bend it like Beckham (tix were £15 each, bargain); then she and i met up with OH and DS who had been the footie for tea near Euston paid for with vouchers Dsis got us for christmas (or mostly paid for). the journey home was a bit tortuous but, hey, you can't have it all
    7. Took sis in law (and she is also one of my bezzies) out for lunch as her 50th birthday pressie. went to Brasserie Blanc in Oxford - was lovely.
    9. thoroughly enjoying my reading on women in construction - albeit outraged at a lot of it
    10. my life is calmer, the nights are lighter, the kids seem ok and oH is great. Life is good....

    :)
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • 1) A giggly phone call with DD1 who at the age of 37 has just been ID'd in the supermarket because she had a bottle of beer in with her shopping, she doesn't know whether to be aghast or flattered!!!

    2) Just back from a lovely walk with Cookie along the lanes and footpaths, it's a gentle sunny day out there and all the hedgerows are beginning to show little green leaf buds and the birdsong was wonderful.

    3) Bumped into Mollie the Collie who we look after occasionally who was very pleased to see us, she's a super little doggie.

    4) My orchid that's been in flower for most of the past 4 years has opened the first flower on its flower spike today, it's spectacularly pink and looks smashing when all the flowers are open together.

    5) Lovely supper to look forward to of breaded pork schnitzel, potato gratin and German red cabbage casserole, very yummy indeed!

Pleasures for today (so far). Terrible night's sleep after being woken by house phone ringing at quarter past 3. :-/ The answering machine message was a random very drunk man mumbling!

    1) Not a bad sleep after that, waking after 10.

    2) Went to see my aunty for lunch.

    3) Had eyebrows/beard threaded and hair cut. To make Valentine's Day even less romantic, went to Boots to get the stuff to kill the wart on my finger!!

    4) Went swimming with my brother (only 23 lengths today).

    5) Have tidied up a bit, finished all washing at last and lit the fire.

    6) Got social life sorted for tomorrow! Seeing 1, possibly 2 friends then shall pick up the new Ebay porch windows.
