suicide is a terrible thing & and I thank you for sharing your loss on this board. It took me many many years to get over the death of a very close one. I blamed myself for far too long (perhaps due to my being 10 at the time of the death and ill-conceived wisdom at the time was for the adults not to talk about it). We do what we can, we hug when we can, we will always wonder if we should have given one more hug. for the loved one for reasons known only to themselves (indeed if that) they feel we will be better off without them. i continue to give hugs because it's all i can do. and is maybe why i stayed with xoh much longer than was good for me or indeed her :-(
and yes and no re. evensnog typo. This was the infamous typo by the provost one service so for ever more we call it evensnog :D
    hmmm 5 for yesterday
    1) woken at 2 by very sore throat. took 2 paracetemol and went back to sleep very quickly, so first mse pleasure is for paracetemol
    2) very nice bed. in between snoozettes caught up on vera
    3) dd2 gave me her ness hat. i have been going to buy my own and she got given a new one by her bf for valentine's day (was going to shorten that to vd but realised that just looked wrong!)
    4) found some chocolaty cereal bars - undoubtedly not on my diet but a very welcome lunch
    5) despite having spent most of day dozing was able to get to sleep no trouble. and slept through to alarm at 7:30 hooray
So not surprisingly, a no alcohol and a no spend day, but also a no steps day. The boys had their dog walker in the morning but had to put up with just nipping out into the garden after that till xoh got home. get well soon laineyt

DD, hope you are feeling much better soon also.
&, so sorry to hear your news. This thread is helpful in the ups and downs. My mums closest friend took her life many years ago now, and my mother could never reconcile it, which wasn’t helped by her personal beliefs.

Second absolutely rotten night the animals where very loudly argumentative and DH poorly. Slept with one eye open for 2 hours thou.

1, I have started to sort the greenhouse out, there are 3 trays of seeds on the windowsills now. Sweet peppers, petunias and sweet William.;)
2, Meal planning tonight is working well this week, tonight will be leftovers into pasta, I will not order pizza, I will not order Chinese………..:rotfl:
3, We’ve made plans to go out for the day Friday and I’m really looking forward to it. We haven’t been out all week, NPD, NSD’s but there is a gas and leccy bill that I will have to pay.
4, The house is ok, I’ve hoovered and mopped all the floors today. I was aiming to clear some bits out, clothing and books but haven’t got that far - I make a bad tired person.:o:o
5, The house smells of gingerbread thanks to a wax melt burning.
6, The washing is up to date and the bird feeders are full so all is well.

    Not long in.
A fair few of us seem to be on slight ropes atm, so this is my Ready for Bed Already post for today.
dd- ah, now I know:-)))) - perfick logic.

    1. Really turned through boxes for Spits demain. &obile almost shuts at all telling orifices. On verra.

    2. This done, called in to Church for quiet time on way back. Actually said aloud 'Here we are, x. Come on in with me. It's a good building for you today'
As always, chose my kneeler according to mood/need, always on the left:-) Peace dove today - with prayers for x's repose, peace, love and communion with partner.

    3. The gammon stock, souply elaborated over 2 s/c days, is smelling glorious and I will trial some after this, put some in Spits Thermoses@2 bells.

    4. Given last week's nightmare journey failure, will check online for any potential M11 mess straight after this. The Smoke by other pathways may be necessary.

    5. Like all of Ann Cleeves' writing, so may try and wind up a Vera on the &ograph i-player. Jimmy Perez tales are &'s preference.

I'm not going to let myself get that far.......up in 8hrs' time.

Frith - of course you should have had that goodwill gesture. That will just have been their opening bid! Welcome back, sons of..... Stay snug, talk of snow your way.

    Bonne nuit.

    Some recent pleasures include,

Warm, lavender and geranium bath, so soothing and much needed.

Clean sheets on bed thanks to CS, still disturbed sleep but so much cosines certainly helps.

Thanks to much prepping we have plenty of food in cupboards and freezer even if personally have no appetite.

Good long chat with darling Mum, much convincing needed to prevent cross county bus travel to come and care for " her little girl " hmm am 52 next week.

Wrapped up, CS took me over the yard for a quick visit to equine pal, reassuringly cosy in his stable and obviously, as always, well looked after. He accepted my carrot offering like the true prince he is.

& have been thinking of timeline re Dad at the yard, he was born in 1928 and went into racing stables at 12 but by 1947 was in Hamburg with the Royal Army Veterinary Corp, as far as memory allows he did go back after National Service but for how long have no idea. Sadly he is no longer here to ask but will see if DM knows. Re the names Moroney is the one that jumps out, the others not sure. My DD had a huge library of racing reference books most of which are still in the bungalow so will check and let you know.

    Hugs, love and prayers &x

    1. DD made cheese straws all by herself today, including the oven part. I was completely redundant, bar for the sampling duties :) She was so proud of herself, and rightly so, they are/were ;) delicious!

    2. Couldn't be bothered to cook dinner tonight, so MrW's delicious veggie pizzas on special offer more than sufficed.

    3. Lots of games of I-spy with DD, then we came home and included mummykins and daddykins :)

    4. Have waded through risk assessments for the school residential trip for most of the afternoon. The pleasure: I think I've covered the main possibilities!

    5. I'll bank this one :)

I'm sorry to hear your news &, and yours VJsmum. So many, including a young relative just a few weeks ago. Some of us have to try to be strong for those not so able to, outwardly, bear the pain. But it's heartbreaking for everyone.

    1. The carpenter has made a good job of building a book case in a door under the stairs which swings open on hidden wheel and hinges so the space behind is still usable. It's a secret nook ideal for hiding C-word presents and the like.
    2. The elephant ear garlic has been re-potted for the second time. I'll get another clove when I go to the garlic farm next month, to keep a constant supply.
    3. A blind 'driver' reversed into my car and destroyed the bumper, fortunately I have protected NCB and had a loan car for a week. I've driven many large cars and towed caravans but I never want to see a Vauxhall Insignia again - it's fine for a rep on motorways but useless about town. Even the loan car company said few of them like it, but it was the only auto they had available. I can't complain, the teens in the square were all begging me for a spin up the dual carriageway :)
    4. Celebrated a friends birthday using a m/o voucher so we got 30% off the meal for three of us. It always tastes better if we don't have to pay the menu price.
    5. No 2 dgd, doing her foundation diploma, has started to make a healthy living from commissions in graphite, her medium of choice. She's also working in a pub at weekends to pay her way. So pleased my dgc have a solid work ethic, they all have second jobs.

    Sweet dreams :)

Waving hello to sparrer, was going to put a shout out to you tonight and then saw that you had posted , so that's my first pleasure!

    Day 4/4.5 off.
Massive row with my eldest and most untidiest daughter, I went scripto at her this morning, DD2's room was untidy but she will and does tidy up her stuff , DD1 is just a midden and always has been .....however, I've just been upstairs 11 hours later and she's at least made an effort, she has so much crap . So not the best way to start my day however .....

Pottered, washed, washed floors, emptied filter of hoover after it stopped working and then as a safety precaution won't start for an hour, washed doors of kitchen cupboards all whilst listening to UK radio.

Drove up to school and parted with a cheque for a few thousand hard earned dollars ...half a years school fees paid. Popped into hardware store for a bag of potting compost and oh, 5 more lisianthus plants ( bought 6 the other day) one of my favourite flowers .

Then popped to salon to make an appointment for eyebrow wax....I can do it right now.....ouch ! And oh , I will just pull that hair from your chin....er....thanks! ( no extra charge for that!) made a donation to one of the hairdressers who's shaving her head for charity next month. She shaved OHs hair last year pre op ( he's always had a thick head of hair) and it was such a shocking , traumatic moment for us both and she was just so lovely and chatty and upbeat about it whilst I just sat and sobbed. So more than happy to donate money.

Then it was out in the garden. Potted up my new plants with Haggis Dog helping by running round with plant pots in his mouth and chasing about with the dustpan brush.

Made a very tasty lasagne for tea, one portion left for freezer.

Skip has been filled to the top and will be picked up tomorrow .

That's it...nowhere near a NSD but more a saved up for day !

    Have a good one :)

Could I have a new nose please? The one is worn out from sneezing!
Dragged myself into work yesterday but probably to my smartest move. Still, 5 for yesterday
    1) did get some marking shifted (5 down, 4 to go, the joys of weighty masters assignments)
    2) accidentally took uncooked swede in instead of ready prepared lunch. D'oh. But had nice head-clearing walk to coop and bought £1.25 chicken sarnie and got my coop card scanned
    3) dd2 gave me a lift home
    4) had 'lunch' for supper. With a glass of red wine which tasted bleugh so must be ill lol
    5) bed by 8. Dozed through Vera so not entirely clear what happened, but did sleep through night
