Get well soon DD x
Had an afternoon nap, at the instigation of mummykins, as I was coughing, spluttering and still feeling pants! Managed nearly 2 hours of rest and felt better for it
DD tucked me in for the aboveLove my pampering!
Tonight, I coerced her into playing Uno - she was so funny, pretending to be a grumpy teenager but not quite being able to pull it off. Dreading when she hones her craft though....!
Bought our tickets to HPotter-Universal in Florida for the summer, woop woop!! Cost a fortune but ah well, it'll be worth it. Also bought Kennedy Space Centre (sorry, don't like American spelling...) tickets0 -
1) It's DD2's birthday today so we'll be skyping later on and I'll get to see my Zebra too!!!
2) Another sparkling frosty day out there today, so pretty and the sun is shining and the sky is blue, mmmmmmmmmmm lovely.
3) The first Forsythia flowers were open on a bush just down the road as I came back from our walk yesterday afternoon, also counted 37 things in bloom on the way round the lanes and footpaths, crazy when it's only February but very nice too.
4) DD1 texted last night from lovely Berlin, she has a nice very convenient hotel and is doing the usual WW2 tour she normally does for the GCSE year but with some work colleagues who wanted to go. Huge itinerary which includes ice skating outdoors tomorrow as they are forecast a day of snow, magical!
5) Avocados for lunch, I really, really like Avocados and these are completely ripe and unctuously delicious!!!0 -
mrs LW I'd never had an avocado until I moved to Melbourne ....they are very popular over here but at the moment very expensive as they are in short supply.
Well , Tuesday, day off number 2/5
Hospital Schmospital ! Waited 2 hours to be seen by a doctor....as did everyone else. Back again in a weeks time.
I came home on tram and train....read a book I started at clinic and finished it later.
Out in garden. Skip finally came about 7.30pm last night and it seems you need a permit to have a skip on road or verge so had to put it in the driveway which is at the very back of house...as far away from front garden where it was all piled as possible. So, so many traipses back and forward. Son helped by stomping it all down in the skip and then Haggis dog decided to join him in the skip.
Finished my book.
Then dinner courtesy of the freezer.....some meatballs for DD1 & DS, fish for DD2 and gammon for OH and I with veggies and spuds. Fridge is almost bare!
An evening catching up with UK Telly.
Have a good day0 -
Thanks kk atchoo atchoo atchoo
1) spent morning at home. Watched a midsommer murder and had a bath
2) made fried rice for lunch with added chilli which felt good for cold
3) had to go in for meeting at 12:30 though not sure I was much use. Oh well showed willing
4) sunny so decided to leave a bit early and walk to new sliming world venue. Only 1/2 pound off this week, but saved the £2 bus fare and got some nice fresh air
5) pleased to say someone gave me a lift home then early to bed with elm sips and tissues.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Only 2 rubber bands so far employed in winding of &utah this day.
Fell asleep mid-reply to Vicar query near 1 bell today. Have now found out and replied fully.
x has succeeded. Took own life early Sun. &, just a handful of doors away, will have driven by unknowing, pre-6 bells>Trump. Valentine's Day for x will have weighed. Is there any 'together' for them now?
Prob. shouldn't even be posting this on 5 osps Thread.
So much, so much of late and still no connection/news>enzed either.

Will now post pleasures with above redacted from things noted since last time.
1. More marmalade prepped and done and jarred, 5 hrs' brain-dead shredding [blood orange and citron]and jar offered to newly- roomed J who will not touch alcohol in any form any more[15 years now]. A round-ball victory for y's team [which & had actually noted for mention!]and rtc[25p] black kiwi nugget for another rough-sleeper's pride: Red Army boots, his topic prev. week. & had also seen rough-bandaged feet instead of socks, claimed as done for verisimilitude. All helped toward a decent start, although this broke down later.
2. Mondays are now huge input/drain, v. intense. but can be rewarding too. Feeling appreciation of &resence from old colleague and another, prev. less known, is rewarding too. We have all chosen/accepted, to be there. It was big busy, lots of trade. &rtns here anywhere 19>22h. Seem to fall asleep deeply and quickly, most unlike &.
3. What a 6N w/e was that! Fantastique, yet again, from my all-powerful position of global dominance, with typically incisive & observation, refereeing corrections and insights all assiduously noted by those of The Alma[oh, really?] Lent is lending only lime/water to proceedings, which feels mean to patron, but nairy mind. He does not, really a great fellow. Spoke to him about this.
4.. Sun - early Trump. pre-6, raw morning, met M who commiserated over Spits failure mess. He had same from his Sat Wimbledon mkt via Elephant&Castle>his home - normally 20/25 mins, this time over 2½hrs. Left for pancake service at 11, then back out again for Alma, followed by drop-off of another doz. teatowels for Club, bought prev. week @Trump., now twice blitzed, bleached, boiled. Was just leaving when sth jagged peripheral eyeline. Surely that distant Clubhouse door WAS shut? But a slightly thickened vertical shadow seemed wrong, as did floodlit club sign, broad daylight. Not right. Investigated. Door propped just ajar from inside by chair. Went in and called. No-one. Phone works away from &squat, so found local worthy contact. Grateful person talked & through all checks, re-sets and as & backed out, pulling firedoors firmly to, mob. dropped from frozen fingers, met concrete. One step forward, 2 steps back, BUT, fall down 6 times, get up 7.
On we go, AB& champion bloodline:-)
5. Snow surprises, flutters and flurries y'day, all mixed with sun and crater-ominous dark circling cloud. Sky peculiar. All felt on edge. Especially liked seeing big long Breck piggies truffling among white-topped black Fen furrows on early drive across country.
#
Leaving things there for now.
Regardless of note pre-osp. 1, of course I am thinking of us, unknowing at pancake service, of & seeing car in drive and thinking to hold back, as spreading out occupation of time in day seemed always better for person. Vicar went every day, asked me about absence of key-safe drop last night....
Now we know.
#
Sorry, everyone.

Hmm, pleasures as such is short supply over last few days but effort to be made,
Waking up Monday morning feeling completely lousy, achey with chesty cough, drove to workplace, new supervisor took one look and sent me home again, can't actually remember that drive, scary stuff.
Thinking back over last few months, all the days woke up feeling great and now this, with new job, gggr.
Captain Scarlet, as always my rock, making endless cups of honey, lemon and ginger and procuring Buttercup Syrup. No mention of wheezing keeping him awake as well, what a pal.
Brilliant blue sky of this afternoon, news from yard that equine pal is being much cosseted and loved in my absence.
& oh my dear, what news, sending heartfelt condolences x
DD may I join you in the sick bay.
Welcome to Lady Bopsie, perseverance with the scrabble.0 -
1. Luke is the only one I'm hearing today, on loop, right here:
http://www.lukehurley.co.nz/2015/10/30/the-more-things-change-the-more-they-stay-the-same/
Luke Hurley - October sessions at Roundhead
2. Au solo hwb lit in a mo. Baggy beret crochet will begin from stash. Zimbabwe colours req.d,[green/yellow/red/black/white] for Alma rugbyman, who has lost his. It's part of him, birth+hinterland. Prev. week, someone tweaked a dangly thread and he started to unravel. & was minded then to offer repair but stayed silent.[Is this poss. on match days?] Lost in interval is imposs. coping for he.
3. Of course other event is with me. Reassuring Vicar was necessary - not amiss as conduit and did miles more, daily - with absolute vocation - than & ever could. Certain parallels/event similarities do not mean & conflated her life with that of other person. But absorbing Luke's sound is feeling right with his driving, pulsing, rhythmic fusion undercurrent.
Dec.d person loved it.
& shared[call that 'foisted'] Spookymen's Chorale and others, along with masses of reading aloud, Georgian poetry, encouraged person writing own on i-pad, JG Ballard's autobiography, hakas, all sorts....&thesp show-off times. I'll say some worked, but not enough, nor for long enough. None of us could BE the departed ptnr.
4. Very aware all day of speeding seconds>minutes>hours>now 2nd day since....and all the mystery of Life, and each person in theirs. Wrote brief note to dec.d, to the children, left this with Vicar to pass on or not tmrw, as seems right or not. Then went to storage for Spits faffing and boxes, but most will be tomorrow. I am grateful for all of these elements of choice and exercising them however imperfectly.
5. More tiny mending, restoration and pressing, stock and &cashmeres. They get well used). Always satisfying to make right as invisibly as poss and/or appropriate. Same done with a v. decent old footstool which some 'improver' didn't. There's a mystery rattle inside, so that's what & will sell it on, come Thurs :-) Very Ed Reardon -

Sorry to hear your news, Ampersand. Mum and dad's neighbour did the same. Many years ago now, though it does not feel long.
Quick pleasures for today as it is late.
1) A good sleep!
2) Many phone calls from smaller son and they will be home tomorrow.
3) Lovely meet up with a friend at noon.
4) Off to naughty bank who have absolutely plagued me with phone calls and threatening letters since December. I paid my overdraft off (such as it was) when changing accounts. More threatening letters so I paid it off again! I was in naughty bank this afternoon from 3 until just before they closed at 5. Many phone calls made and they found they had received the money but, due to the account swapping thing, it had circled round and gone back into my new account!
Anyway, quite dull but good to sort out. Then the chap said he had calculated my mileage, parking and phone calls to go into the branch so many times to sort it out - and would £75 be OK as compensation? I wasn't expecting anything!
5) Sainsburys for tea and shopping. A nice chat with the caf! lady (who always seems to be there!)
6) Watched Holby City.
7) 30 minutes of Wii fit.
8) Watched the documentary about post partum psychosis. Very well made, was crying at the one poor women before her recovery.
9) In bed now with 2 hwb and will find something on iplayer to listen to.0 -
Hello, day off number 3 /4.5... boss messaged me, any chance I could work Friday morning? Grrrrrrr.....but bargained a whole weekend off in 2 weeks time.
Anyway, up early , made pancakes for all my children. Washed and ironed whilst watching holby then had a bath. .....first one this year!
Popped into work with clean teatowels and grabbed the manky ones .
Went to a new to us cafe for brunch which was rather nice. I had toast. They had a little puppy which was rather cute.
Then it was trailing round trying to buy cheapest bags of mulch. I had a $10 voucher for one of the shops , bought a fig tree, hoping we have better luck than our lemon trees! Got discount on all the burst bags of mulch!
Don't ask - don't get!
Stopped at a fruit and veg wholesaler on way home.
Aldi for grocery shop. Wrote a list and stuck to it.
Had a list of emails/ calls to make , so I did that this afternoon.
Has been showery today on and off. Very pleasantly cool too....heating back up from Friday though.
Have a lovely day
Edit: breathing a mighty sigh of relief! DD2 has her deb ball in June. Deposit paid and balance was supposed to be paid by Monday there ....at the meeting we forgot all about! I tried to pay online this afternoon but it's closed for payments .....cue , emails being fired off ( with sob story ( true story though) of OH in hospital and it totally going out if my mind) and then I remebered I had a contact number for one of organisers , so just sent her a text and thankfully I'm not too late!) the thought of telling DD she couldn't go ........!
So Phew!0
