    Some pleasures for today,

Waking up at 5.30, remembering it's my day off and snuggling back down for another couple of hours.

Leisurely breakfast with the Captain, boiled egg with marmite soldiers.

Watching last instalment of War and Peace, thoroughly enjoyed, have never read the book so no idea if it's a good adaptation or not.

Out in the sunshine on my lovely lad, the geese were waiting for us down the lane but Bill had his big boy pants on and almost charged at them, they scattered into the fields and kept a wary distance when we come back.

The sickle moon rising in the clear evening sky when we took the girls out for last walk.

PK fingers and toes crossed re job.
MrsLw your deer sounds magical, lucky old Mr Fox
Dfv glad puss cat found his way back, the girls are fine as Captain Scarlet works from home, I do get a riotous welcome home mind, much thanks for tip on galanga.

Quick pleasures as it has got late again!

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Bigger son had a reasonable day at school. Smaller son had a less enjoyable day as he has fallen out with one of his TAs.

    3) I had a very strange daydream at work (I would like to point out I don't usually do this, but the pupil I work with was away and the lesson had not got started properly!) By chance, I was working today in the same room I had that lesson in when at high school - with the same teacher who used to teach me! So I was thinking about the lesson, then thinking about lunch later and had forgotten that I wasn't a pupil. :-/ Then I looked at the board and it had names on of pupils who had not behaved in the previous lesson. One of the names was familiar - Welsh, slightly unusual, but not unheard of round here. I stared at that name - then remembered it is bigger son's name and I'm no longer a pupil!

    4) Went to Sainsburys for tea and shopping.

    5) Swam 40 lengths at swimming and did 20 mins of Wii fit.

    6) Just done a load of washing, washing up and boiled the eggs ready for egg mayo sandwiches for lunch tomorrow.

Looking forward to half term now! Snow forecast :-/
  • BoP is often asked how he keeps his complexion and karma as good as new. Here is how BoP does it!
Proper butter - that's our BoP, reliable priorities.
    Got it?
And less we forget the last Scrabble event. BoPsie is only one win away from two on the bounce/ Film night, not it has to be a Monroe!
Reckon we may yet get Sunday back as a Non Trading day?
The fear for that I saw in Riyadh in October 1993, when McD opened. The queue for the fat bun was longer than the rushed up head banging tent, yet those of ills, were gently persuaded to attend. They quickly rushed back to join the fat bun queue.

5 Finally got the appointment for the top quack on the heart. Yes, BoP is still broken hearted, but ticks on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

4 Thankfully, after too much time, the Posh have been exited from the cup. And we do not have to watch it, because FiL will not be bringing out the 1954-55 signed photo again, until the next time!

3 After toeing BoPsie's scales other day, apparently I have missed another couple of pounds coming off. Dog house for Hector! It is now being announced to the world and the unexpected on Buck of Face. No further update expected!

2 Night is CC again,. and only one week away from another completion. Need to get maximum points to get my cup back!

The Fat Bun is bigger than the Temple!
This post is done on the phone from the shed. Is bloody cold this day!
  • 1) A sparkling, silver, frosty morning -3.5 degrees and totally beautiful, definitely a 'dragons breath' day.

    2) Followed by a benign and golden, blue skied spring day where we were over 12 degrees by 10 o clock this morning!

    3) Because it was so nice we went across to the Harold Hillier Arboretum at Romsey and had a fantastic walk through the gardens which was lovely with beds of snowdrops, tiny cyclamen, tiny daffodils and many colours of hellebore and in the winter garden many very fragrant shrubs in full flower, tiny insignificant flowers but the perfume was heavenly.

    4) Standing at the top of the valley that is the Nepalese Garden level with the treetops we were surrounded by an orchestra of bird song, it was beautiful beyond words.

    5) Passed some male pheasants in full colour shining in the sun as they strutted in the grazing fields on the country roads, blatant because they know they are totally safe until early March when the season opens on pheasants for shooting, they were magnificent.

    1. Went on a dull course today but met up with a colleague from another school who has an equally trying class and lack of support from those in charge, so we've decided to be each other's support system and let off steam by email :)

    2. Mummykins is coming home tomorrow :):):) She had her accident 4 weeks ago tonight! Gawd bless the NHS for looking after her.

    3. Did both drop off and pick up of Miss Kittikins' school run :) Lovely for both of us :)

    4. Tulips on offer in MrW's - mummykins' favourite flowers bought in readiness for her return. She's not been allowed flowers on the ward.

    5. It's the end of term tomorrow, yippee! I've got a week and a bit of maths planned for next term, so am going to make sure I get a proper break again over the holiday as otherwise I won't make it to July!
  • 1. Got a random call from carers saying not to worry but could I visit DF, so I did a big shop for him on the way over and when I arrived was greeted with the site of he had piled up all of his stuff in a room. So I spent all of the time stacking books in book cases, tidying, cleaning and thinking this is odd. While I did that, DH kept dad chatting to keep him company.
    2. Driving back we talked about the odd day, and when we got in I resisted temptation to massively comfort eat, so made home comfort food of a pasta bake.:)
    3. Actually watching Goldeneye, I normally only part watch films.:p
    4. I am taking the day off from job searching tomorrow to refresh, everything today was based in Dublin, Belfast etc.
    5. Snowdrops and crocus’s, and I picked up some seeds from Lidl when doing the earlier shop.:D:D
    6. DH has asked me to make millionaires shortbread for Valentines, looking at the recipe I had better not eat from now until Sunday:rotfl:, I’ve never made it before.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Mum and dad looking after smaller son for me so I could go to work. He still isn't quite better.

    2) A day at work so ridiculous it is beyond description. Pleasure is it is half term tomorrow!

    3) Bigger son got his work experience preparation done (at very much the 11th hour!)

    4) Quorn pies and roast veg for tea.

    5) Went swimming with sons and my brother and did another 1km!

That's about it. In bed already with 1hwb.

KK yay on Mummykins coming home, another yay for our NHS, my admiration for our nursing staff is immense.
PK pasta bake is good comfort food, hugs re DF
    Frith well wishes to youngest
BOP we only ever have proper butter in our house, Captain Scarelt refuses to eat refrigerated chemicals.

Some pleasures, mainly work based for yesterday,

Got in early and permission was granted to slightly change hours so could leave early too.

Finally shown how to download full summary of accounts and boy what a mess, overdue and unallocated items going back years, Lainey gulped and wondered what had done. But shoulders squared and will crack on.

Walk in the sunshine at lunchtime, next week will explore the nearby village.

Left at 5 and drove home in more late sun, girls were in the garden when I got home and the sight of two little faces looking over the garden gate is worth more than diamonds.

Getting into bed, avec hwb, tired but happy have survived first week.
