Mucho positive vibes being sent for Mhagster and KK and their loved ones.
Likewise for your Dad Villagelife good news re the tablets
SYA hope you benefit from revised working hours
    Frith :T on weight loss.

Some pleasures for last few days,

After culling of wardrobe successful shopping trip to BuryStEd for some work clobber, combination of sales and vouchers meant not much left Lainey's bank account, OS pleasure was free parking after 3 on Tuesday, parked at 2.59.

Not only prolific display of snowdrops there is now blossom on fruit trees in grounds of big house, pleasure is we get to walk girls round for free as live in one of the old farm buildings.

More visits from Mr Squirrel so he obviously has a number of hiding places in our garden.

Apparently a lady visited the yard on Thursday morning who had car very like mine, my equine pal starting calling across thinking it was me and was most put out when he realised it wasn't, am blessed to be so loved.

Lunch with hollow-legged youngest step-son, regaled us with tales of travels in Vietnam and Thailand whilst eating us out of house and home :rotfl: He is riding high with unconditional offer from Uni of choice. My present from travels was a selection of spices including Galanga ?? Not heard of, ideas anyone?
  • The bread queues are forming again. Not that the committee will notice for a while.

5 Had to wash Raffles in cat shower yesterday. Came out unmarked. Raffles and cat shampoo do mix. Is drying like a sodden sponge. Cat shower everybody! He skidded on desk, just as I managed to grab tea mug. Biscuit survived. Rubs Tum.

4 Had the usual Satday breakfest. Snorkers, two rashers of best back, fried tatties, poached egg, mushrooms and toms. Washed down with even more tea. Crossword took twenty minutes. Rubs Tum.
3 Sticky chicken readied for wobbleades this evening. Home made wings, coated in proper treacle, not that golden stuff. Chilli, garem masala, fresh root ginger, garlic, self crushed. Can wait to Rum Tub!

2 Day listening to the Lord, speaking from the Theatre of Fish. PM2DD UTM.

I see that the Nottingham Doctor has not taken up his land so gifted. Seems the vegetable patch has run dry because of it.

No worries though, the Oxford Commitee shops are doing well! No bu99er cares about the upcoming man made famine?
  • MHAGS just back from a few days with our eldest girl and not read until now, hope so very much that you and Mr Mhags are both now reunited and home!!! Hugs!!!

KITTIKINS way back in the 1990s we were posted to Germany for a few years and my poor old dad was diagnosed with cancer a few months after this while he was going through treatment I got a panic phone call from my Stepmother to say she'd broken her little toe walking into a log and was not able to get about, so could I please fly home for a couple of weeks and help out. Of course I could, when I arrived in Lincolnshire and got to the house, she had both feet strapped and was on crutches.........because she'd just done exactly the same thing on the other side and now had 2 x broken little toes, really, you couldn't make it up!!!

    1) We've had a few days with our teacher daughter mainly to go and see a concert put on by the school and another local school where they combined both swing bands so we had 60 very talented (and enthusiastic) young folks playing the blues in the Cathedral, it was AMAZING!!!

    2) Home again now after a 2 hour drive in driving rain and squally winds and the stove is lit, we've had cuppas (3 each!!!) and we're warm again, lovely jubbly.

    3) Six Nations rugby on the TV, who can be uncheered when there's a game to watch.

4)I've just seen a picture of the most beautiful bean bag DD1 has made for that Zebra, he's been waking up very upset about not being able to find his 'Big Whale', he doesn't have a big whale...so his lovely auntie Lelly has just made him a whaley fish bean bag, it looks amazing!!!

    5) My own bed to sleep in, my own armchair, my slippers etc. think I'm happiest as a home bod!!!

Strange day yesterday, made even stranger for ending up a nsd as got lift to pub (saving bus fare) then, since haven't made it to Friday Phoenix or seen this particular set f friends this year  had first 3 drinks bought me :P
About to go off for meal with 3 of the friends when saw another colleague rather worse for drink. He was very very down so stayed with him instead. He bought me a couple of soda and limes as he told me his woes. Hope I Was a good listener for him, but his downness did rather shake me. And for today, a tip to murrayfield with gbf, dd, dd2's bf's and xoh not in itself mse, but did manage to stick to some mse principles
    1) Brisk walk down (so no parking cost) to train station. Had ordered ticket online using 50+ card
    2) lunch in Burger which was reasonably priced treat. No alcohol so that defo a saving
    3) then to murrayfield hooray. We walked rather than get the tram
    4) the cups of tea were a necessary expense - it was a little chilly and of course flasks are banned. We drank them while watching on the big screen France narrowly beat Italy
    5) fab Calcutta match, walked back to dd2's bf's just by haymarket, pausing at coop to buy 5 ready meals to heat up for tea at his
    6) due to dd2's inside scotrail knowledge managed to get seats at haymarket! Gbf's bf gave me, gbf and xoh lift home saving us bus fare, then xoh went back to pick dd2 and her bf. So now all home and happy.
Wales Ireland tomorrow. Gbf who is Welsh is coming to watch it at one of my Irish friend's. Will be fun

DD -sounds like a great day.

I went to watch quins and its unbelievable how great they are at giving away the lead and losing in the last couple of minutes of a match.

Managed to get home without hearing the England/Scotland score and only watched it about 30 minutes behind real time. Pleased Clifford managed to win his first cap.

Finished some mending which has been around for a while. Trousers shortened and a jumper mended. It didn't take that long and I don't know why I had left it do.

Had long chat with a friend and arranged to meet up next weekend.

Swing low, we heard you singing DD!

5 Watched Kingsman last night. Well over the top but brilliant. Well worth the watch. BoPse and me had our sticky chicken wings, home made,. Wobbleade was served. Rubs Tum and Largs.

4 Poached egg on toast breakfast, then jam on toast and tea. Rubs Tum. Raffles hast the wing sticks, now out for birds.

3 Off to do shop at w8rs, free Sunday papers, instant discount and money off coupons! Bonus coupon as well this week. BoPsie tells me that she had to light fire with the other emporiums money off coupons. Avoid!

2 Day BoP is doing slow chilled salmon, with crushed tatties, home made mushy peas, not the Harry can! Home made parsley sauce, then some xmas pud and lumpy custard!

    The bread has run out!

    Quick pleasures for today:

    1) A lie in!

    2) Nice tortillas for lunch.

    3) Went swimming with sons and my brother and swam 1km.

    4) Moved another load of logs in and stacked them by the stove.

    5) Bigger son used his camping supplies (packet food) for our tea! Then I made an apple and blackberry crumble.

    6) Quite enjoyed watching the Jump and did 20 minutes of Wii fit.

    7) In bed now with 1 hwb. Just been in to say goodnight and bigger son has the other hwb - across his eyes!!
  • 1) A 'cooking' morning yesterday which gave us some nice things for the next few days, always makes me feel 'gathered in'.

    2) No real damage here as a result of 'Imogen' just a tree pushed too far over to be saved that will have to be taken out later on, shame but could have been so much worse!

    3) Daffodils out in the lee of the front hedge, just beginning to open and so bright in the sun.

    4) The Wales/Ireland game of rugby yesterday, cracking good watch for a Sunday afternoon.

    5) Watching birds being blown across the sky by this wind, some like old paper bags higgledy piggeldy and not in charge of their wings but some who just get it 'right' and soar majestically past, so funny!

Rentokil are here digging up my floor boo hoo. The heating is off and i'm sitting here fully clothed plus dressing gown. Oh well needs must.
    For yesterday
    1) a brisk walk to church. the £2 saved on bus fare overcame any qualms about walking in the rain
    2) good service, good sermon, oldest member of the congregation 97th birthday, very nice cake :P
    3) friend who was to host us for lunch sadly ill so went to pub. money spent, but good food, good company, allowance for February holding well
    4) then round to ill friend's to watch the rugby (his insistence, but goodness he did sound rough)
    5) lift home (can't claim saving the £2 fare cos would have walked) and 4 episodes of call the midwife to catch up on (there were 3 when i started at 7:15 but of course 4 was up to tempt me by the time i'd got through those).
how you doing with the helen rob story line & finding it increasingly tough to listen, and wondering what on earth i would do if i were in kirsty's position
