And relax. BoP championi at Scrabble again and again and again and again. Not playing Backgammon anymore!
5 Had a games nite with BoPsie last night and BoP remains undefeated at Scrabble, but only just. Though I consider that we should not play Backgammon anymore. BoP has not won in an age! Maybe too much wiobbleade.
4 Tea tonight is on stove, the chicken has been turned into a curry and is steadily maturing. Like the cheese, you will find no fridge in House of BoP. Saves on cleaning them! Rubs Tum. And if you are worried that leaving food on stove and not cleaning fridges is dangerous, BoP has managed more than 54 years of doing so! Rubs Tum.
3 Preparing for tomorrows work, today. Oh dear pens down!
2 Night is another games night I think, BoPsie, championi at Backgammon is egging for a game. I told her not to prod the bear or she can sleep in the shed!
Just seen three pigs fly pass the window!0 -

Lots of osps to read, some coincident, even one on mushy peas..........
1. .....tasted by & for 1st and last time last week at Scotsdales, final day of lunch BOGOF offer. There we were in our zillions :-). inc. & and friend. The fish was superb. The mps are metallic, tinned, un& things, mush-clag consistency like un-pea sticky mouth paint. Bought only a few No More Plants...each...another last day voucher. Clever businessman is lovely David Rayner, but there are worse places to be aware of it happening :-). Still a special afternoon tea to use. & took pic and vid on phone of bumblebee on white hellebore.
2. &'s Monday not unlike Frith's down ones, but with so-called grown-ups.... However, cross-country has revealed a new source of bunny carrots for neighbour and amazing setting sun en route back. Restorative.
3. Still can't get through to enzed, so having to proceed on No News principle.
However, offsetting this hope, a recurrent cancer after almost 5 clear years is ess-aitch-one-tee in one case[op. last Th] Another sudden brain tumour diagnosis has just meant instant admission to hospice 2 days ago. & wishes so much to be with Uncle for his birthday 92 if at all poss.
4. Just heard 'A Good Read', marvellous and fizzing, made less by the books than by the unlikely guests teaming so well - Vanessa Feltz and David Hepworth, whose name & recognised as grauniad t'wireless crit. Delightful stuff as they rounded on Harriet Gilbert re: her choice. VF revealed another n/k Dodie Smith to &, A Tale of Two Families. DH's pleasure and surprise at having loved it so and wanting to live/be part of it was so likable. Another for & to trace, having thought 'A Town In Bloom' was a find a while back. She's like Bagnold, in her undertow of dark palimpsest twists.

5. Must out now for 20 lemons, to go with hier's 25kg sugar to go with 80-ish organic sevilles, emporium rtc 35p per kilo![prev. £2.49!!!] Hopefully funds for our Tanzanian school and clean water projects will be bullied forth. Both preserving pans out, buttered botties, whole oranges will boil 4kg at a time. then sit o/n awaiting dissection - different method and recette. Is this wise? je me demande.
Never mind, all will be tweaked sans doute and Spits prep. takes precedence demain.
6. re: which, despite VERY annoying bookending breakages - 4 a.m. unload, then nearly 10 pm pack-up, Spits was rather better. Banking done yesterday with excellent 6 Nations discussion - x is lovely. Big cold prep. day tmrw. Henry's here, or Henri, as France was telling me 2 nights ago, while phone worked[not long].
7. Endless Anglia Water gruntles. No, & will not be paying £93 p.w.. up from more than adequate £7, thankyou. Repeat mess, so cancelled bank plunder facility. We've already had this thrashed out more than several. No-one rang back on 5 Jan, as promised. & chased twice, got nowhere[unusual for &. Staff person 'didn't exist', not so today.] Letter dated 21 Jan arrived y'day. tbc, & ascendant.
8. Good results - Toulon, SRUFC, NZ7s, Leicester - smiles, Vicky. Almost dispassionate 6 Nations & coming up, with extra global smug. Saw that spirited Doncaster Rotherham match, vl, as Alma patrons attempted/failed to find Toulon Stade Français for &.
9. ....returning to no.1, as Henry blasts on 2x1/2 load washes down back meant & discovered her deep claret hellebores clustered around elderberry trunk.
10. Bridget Kendall is Master of Peterhouse and trump is dumpedtrumped. There IS good on the world. & remembers thatcher meanly denying Kendall recognition way back when.

Lots on. That's enough for now, with excellent wishes to Lainey - about to start; pk- yours will come; vjm - homework due. Good cs booty, frith - are you still managing allotment with work, or is everything gerald+henried atm?
Well done on weight loss and em dittos, dd.
&'s liking the new guests on Rev. Jupp's News Quiz, esp. extended versions on r4x.

The allotment has been given back, Ampersand. :-(
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) A stop for cooked breakfast this morning with smaller son on the way to his annual review meeting!
3) The meeting went well. Remembering how he was not allowed on school trips throughout his time at first primary school (inc swimming), I half mentioned he had talked about the forthcoming trip to Flanders. Seems he would be welcome to go and they'll provide a TA!
4) Nothing much to report from work.
5) Watched Holby City.
6) Did 50 mins of Wii Fit.
7) In bed now with 2 hwb.0 -

& oui, certainment!!!!! Je t'aime Morgan Parra, Immanol Harinordicky, Dimitri Yashvilli, Francoise Train Duc, Sebastian Chabal (sadly no longer featured in games) and many other oh so talented French players!!!!! I'm lucky enough to have a daughter living very near to one of the premier English rugby clubs and we go to games as often as I can get up there, love, love, love the game avec le Ballon Ovale! I was lucky enough to actually see Immanol (my favourite all time player) live when the local team played Biarritz Olympic in one of the European competition games a couple of years ago, she got tickets but didn't tell me who we were playing or who was playing, oh my word! was MAGIC!
1) It is a sparkling sunny day here this morning and as such will be enjoyed to the full!
2) Lovely rare steak for supper last night, even nicer as it was a couple of sirloin steaks much reduced from Mr.Ts butchery department.
3) The whole area is awash with daffodils at the moment and is a joy to walk through on our afternoon walkies with Cookie.
4) Quiz night tonight, time to dust off the pigeons a little and let answers (hopefully) emerge from the mental pigeon holes.
5) The morning cuppa, I could write that as a statement every day of the year!0 -
still very fond memories of scotsdales &
1) xoh came in with me as she had doctor's appointment. we started the day with a nice cup of coffee in the newly fitted out staff coffee shop. so not a nsd but 99p so not too bad
2) joined by 2 other colleagues and we had a good old gossip. caught up on who is / might be retiring this year
3) lunch was hm tuna pasta salad while taking part in webinar. thank goodness for the mute and request we didn't use video
4) nipped out 3ish to buy chocolates or flowers for gbf. they were just putting out valentine's gifts, so bought him a chocolate rose
5) then walked to his (20 mins brisk) for lovely supper and bowie dvd. salmon steak cut into Aladdin Sane flash (complete with 'red hair' of mashed swede), 5 asparagus spears for 5 years (groan), moon-shaped cheesecake for moonage daydream, champagne (battle cries and champagne just in time for sunrise) and ginger chocolate (Cos we like it nom nom)

Past my bedtime!
Just in from a very lively PTA meeting at school.....over ran by half an hour.
Day off number 2 started off at silly o'clock but I just took myself through to front room , read and then dozed for a wee while.
Chat with friend from home.
Pottered around , dusted, hoovered, ''twas lashing with much needed rain.
Dropped a bag of photo frames and a mirror that we got as a wedding gift almost 24 years ago, that I've never really liked! DD1 horrified that I was giving it away .... Do you want it? No! Well someone else might like it! The gift giver is very unlikely to be passing through Australia and querying where it is.
Snoozette
Made lentil soup for tea and had a baked potato and cheese for lunch. Love a baked potato! So simple but so delicious!
Up to school for first PTA of the year and lots of new people who will hopefully come back and we split into subgroups and had some brainstorming ideas. Fabulous!
Do have a wonderful Wednesday:)0
