Was just listening to birdwatch chap on radio 4 & haven't done it before but may well this year especially since they have guides online (current knowledge of birds - swan, duck, pigeon, robin, other bird lol)
Off to murrayfield next Saturday village life though Soz mhags I'll be supporting the 'wrong' side
Hate mushy peas sparrer though have made a tasty slimming world quick curry from them.
1) friend made lovely clooty dumpling for seminar series
2) seminar series she runs is on main campus. Lovely to catch up with campus friends
3) mum has booked tickets for la traviata for when we're in Venice in September. Birthday pressie (my birthday is end of August). Feeling spoilt
4) spent afternoon in main library. Love hiding there occasionally and got stuff off January list (sadly not all, but a pleasing amount)
5) walked home with xoh who then cooked me supper and guiltily asked if I minded if she went to the bf. Not at all. Indeed much preferred so then had lovely evening, me and the boys and philomena.
Having a nsd nad pyjama day. Though will have to go walk the dogs as they don't understand the concept of pyjama day since they spend every day in their pjs. My pjs today are a Scottie onesie, cosy cosy, though think I will change for walks!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1) A trip to a hardware shop in a local village found a whistling kettle for DD1 and a 20cm stainless steel 3 tier steamer for me both still reduced in the Christmas sales, magic!
2) The sky engineer arrived at 8.05 this morning to fix (and he did) the problem with our broadband. Original time given for his arrival was 8 to 5 pm, doesn't get better than 8.05 am does it?
3) Skype with DD2 and Zebra last night he was sitting with her eating his tea when he got up and left, she called him a couple of times to no avail and when she did find him he was sitting at the little table and chairs that was our birthday present to him yesterday eating his tea nicely like a big boy! Awwwww!
4) The sun is OUT!!!
5) Rugby on the telly this afternoon, Clermont Auvergne vs Montpellier, should be a good match, Hoorah!!!0 -
Now read this.
5 BoP, this morning had his usual Saturday Snorker fest. With dry cured smoked back bacon, not that water infested muck from emporium, mushrooms, SpagYETTI hoops. Poached egg and toast. Washed bdown with proper loose tea. Rubs Tums.
4 Excellent news on emporium front, seems T is losing money and they are cutting back opening times. I would reduce it further to the amount of hours BoP visits there.
3 O'clock. Radio upped, and the Theatre of Fish is tuned in. Scarf readied and here we go for another roller coaster.
2 Night me and the current BoPsie are off to town. With glad rags and dancing skirts, talc for the floor and handbags. BoP has been called to the bar!
I am different. Just because you wear red pants, does not mean I do!0 -
Woke up to a beautiful, sunny morning so I made the most of it and....
1. Tidied the garden, cut back some shrubs and the roses and started planning the sowing and planting. Lovely to see the snowdrops and tete a totes in bloom.
2. Re-stocked the bird feeders.... to keep the dam squirrels aka rats with tails fat!
3. Meal plan for lunches and dinners for the week done and food shopping done.
4. Curled up with a nice pot of tea, looking at seed catalogues and waiting for our Chinese takeaway nom nom
5. Looking forward to Skype DD later this evening.Well Behaved women seldom make history

Firth: Thank you, congratulations to you also.
1. We wanted to go out for a bit of a change, so we went out to a local town that has good CS’s, the caf! and the great market fruit and veg stand. We had a very small list I need to replace a jug we use all the time, so needed a CS and also a flea collar. We achieved the shopping list plus some packs of garden seeds 4 lots for a £1, and a full carrier bag of veg for £3.80.:o
2. We stopped in at the oriental supermarket and wandered around looking lost and the lovely owner took pity on us. He loaded us up with Peking sauce, a vast quantity of pancakes that are freezable, prawn crackers, enough bits to make many duck portions.:j
4. Came home and remembered to enter the lotto remembering you have to be in it to win it.
5. We came home and promptly fell asleep on the sofa together, had to laugh. :rotfl:0 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A bit of a lie in!
2) Went to Leominster to sort out bank thingies. Had to laugh at the cashier who looked at my driving licence and said, "Oh, you've come a long way". Erm... 20 miles!
3) Lovely Ludlow afterwards. Mistral (http://www.mistral-online.com/lookbook/) had upped their sale - trousers reduced from £44 to £10. Got to the till and there was another 10% off! Then popped to the charity shop next door and there was a tunic top (that was actually in Mistral a few months back) for £4 so got that too!
4) Went to see dad whose hand is healing fine.
5) Went swimming with my brother.
6) Cleaned the fridge, checked passports (sons' are helpfully expiring in March so will need new ones before trip later this year), tidied up slightly etc.
7) Brother came for tea - chips from the van.
8) We caught up on Winterwatch.
9) Stove going nicely as it's minus numbers now.
10) Got smaller son's SEN statement review paperwork done and dusted.
PK - there is a large Asian supermarket near my aunty's house and we also drive past wistfully but do not dare go in in case we would only recognise the rice!0 -
Some pleasures for the last couple of days,
The emporium is once again stocking Lift lemon tea after its mysteriously disappeared for the last few months, I like the reduced sugar version first thing in the morning.
Watching a squirrel return to his stash of walnuts that he hid near the apple tree several months ago, sat happily munching the treat.
Busy few hours at the yard that included a mooch down the lane in the bright sunshine, just me and my pal.
Quick change and went to pick darling Mum up, she came loaded with goodies, flowers for me, tea-loaf for Captain Scarlet and a batch of shortbread. Bless her.
Looking forward to a day of chatting, reading and doing our hour of bird watch, thanks for the reminder &0 -
Ooooh the tension! Melbourne Cup final with Mr Murray playing! I'm so tired though so I don't know if I will manage to watch till the end. Go Andy! ( though I'm shouting at the telly already !)
Day 5/6 done...one to go. One more early, early start to do for a few days at least.
Rain, so much rain . We have had such a hot, dry summer that it's so very welcome. Our trees in the garden are already turning colour it's been so dry.
Son looking rather handsome this afternoon as I got in from work and he was going out....meeting his girlfriend from her work...that'll be why then!
DD2 and I had an excellent debrief from work on the drive home...usually she comes in and has a moan , he said , she said. If I'm on a day off I don't really want to hear it!
I do believe my husband is getting me a bowl of tennis watching ice Cream!
Go Andy!
Have a great day0 -
Blow the wind slow.
5 Did not make it to town last eve, instead had home made sticky chicken wings, loads and cheap. With black treacle, Tom pur!e, chilli, spice. Raffles was well fed as well. Out for birds this morning, gone!
4 Went to get shopping inn. Well under the £30, and no emporium nonesense. Came home and lit fire with T voucher, as they wanted £40 off BoP for trying. Now set for roast buzzard, with jam. Roast tatties, not the Aunt Bassy batter encrusted carp. More later. Angels have landed.
3 As I have had enough Christmas pud, today we are having butterscotch angel delight. You know you forgot yours! Rubs Tum!
2 Night could be a games evening. Remember although BoPsie is well up p,aging backgammon, she remains one win away from the chance of playing for two on the bounce at Scrabble. And last time out, BoP laid three seven letter words, two on the bounce, and a nadge off three.
Again, should the entourage come pass BoP's pad, I will dop my cap.
BoP lives on a cul de saq!0 -
I had a long lie in.....10.15 and never woke once, which is unheard of for me. Although is was 2am before I finally went to bed, had a lovely evening drinking wine, listening to music and putting the world to rights....a bit of a sore head this morning though.
1 tea and toast
2 dog beds washed and almost dry
3 pork in the oven and veg etc prepped for Tonight's dinner.
4 still garden planning, thinking of some fruit trees, but don't want anything that will grow huge
5 tonight it will be feet up, catching up on some TV.Well Behaved women seldom make history
