Which Giles would that be, dd? What have I missed? Love Fraser and Dilnot, with Coren not even a remote distant 3rd - pity. as his papa was v.different.

Lovely rugby talk Mrs LW and every single one of those names[Parra's off day the other week was very odd, having seem him in Dub and Twick a few times now] - and I have surely set down that gorgeous gustatory name, Imanol Harinordoquy, before in these columns, along with that of glorious bear Sebastien Chabal. Chance mtg down in Valence, during one of &'s stranded adventures about 5 yrs ago, then ending up several nights in apartment with old schoolmate/player of his with another beautiful name, Armenian - Sevan Sefarian. Following summer, Sevan and quebecquoise copine Julie had sadly split up....
We discussed the other week whether Trinh Duc might have a sunset under Guy Noves....seems not, mais on sait jamais. Of course I will be for France but with so much enzed input in most teams, & claims wins every time:-)

He's still playing well though but they're taking no chances with his only just mended broken leg aren't they. I guess the younger players need their chance along with those at the top of the game and the valiant old war horses who never seem to stop, just stay on the field for shorter periods of time, love every single second of every single game. Best for us was this summer when she struck lucky with tickets to the very first World Cup game between Tonga and Georgia, now have very great admiration for the Georgians who played very sound 'old fashioned' rugby, they didn't win but by golly they played a blinder of a game, privilege to have been there to see it!0

DD. Ginger chocolate my absolute favourite.
1. Spent the morning re doing my CV, checking and applying for roles, and exploring other sites to apply with.:)
2. I have rejiged the kitchen and removed bits I don’t use often enough to allow to take up room such as the wok, but couldn’t bring myself to throw it, so it’s been re-purposed as a new bird food table and they absolutely love it which is fantastic to see.:T
3. I’ve been deep cleaning one place per day, yesterday was the animal run (it was built with freegled doors and windows, so you can imagine they weren’t clean to start with but they are as clean as possible now). Today is the downstairs windows and ledges inside and out and de cluttering the ledge to get to it.
4. A pleasure to be I plan on putting together the things from the oriental market to be shredded Peking duck with spring onion rice and pancakes.
5. The snowdrops and crocus’s are up in the lawn.:)0 -
Me again!
Day 3 off work ( back tomorrow, sigh!)
Plans changed, OH was supposed to be having surgery today ( cancelled in December ) and yet again a phone call yesterday to delay it again, as they needed the theatre for emergency surgery. Anyway, it's now on Friday , which is a pain ( literally for him ) and in the backside for me as I will be at work and need to head into city and up to hospital after work to then come home as he has to have someone pick him up.sigh!
So we took the dog and headed way out into the beautiful Victorian countryside. Saw kangaroos, llamas, so many parrots and cockatoos , ibis, coos and sheep!
Had a very nice lunch in a cafe we've been to once before , sat in the very peaceful courtyard, with a fountain burbling away and the occasional cockerel crowing. Quite lovely.
Lovely drive home in a different direction.
Had to buy another school book for DD2, if there's a pleasure it was I had phoned the school bookshop to check they had it in stock, reserved it, said I will be there in 20 minutes .....massive queue as I was leaving!
Then went to garden centre and bought some new flowering plants for back door area to see me through autumn , hopefully. Very reasonably priced and one sad and lonely RTC plant. DD1 and I swept up and tidied and watered .
Having chicken curry for dinner.0 -
Good luck to OH re surgery, mhags
In my bed waiting for OH to bring my tea. He does this every morning and should be listed as a pleasure every day.
MiL looks better and will hopefully come out of icu soon.
Pleasures for last two
1 delivered the module on Tuesday. I do love to teach but I have vowed to do only one more. My three favourite students were there
2 felt weird being in the office, even though I only left on Friday. Was good to walk out guilt free though.
3 finished reading the thesis, I can do that. Also passed on the link for theses to a (former) colleague, who also now realises that she can do that after reading one
4. Daffs in bloom and a magnolia about to burst forth in London.
5 built the display cabinet I bought oh for Christmas so that he can put his Hornby engines in
6. Yummy scrummy salad from Eat. I don't often buy food out but that was divine and worth the money.
7. First supervisor meeting. I know a bit more about what's what. And I have a desk. In central London. :T. OH is jealous :rotfl:
8. Visited MiL in hospital, she is totally compos mentis (more than she has been for a while). Hopefully she will be right soon
9 freezer stores meant no need to eat out and dinner on the table within moments of getting in
10 good walks in brum and London.
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Party Time. Is the season. More later.
5 Day out getting things yesterday. No pasty, but down south. Great views again. Bit rushed, but we made the mistake of entering the emporium. Normally, juts use primula cheese and a roll, bit of ham for on the go bun. Disaster. Shop worse than the coop. No British meat. All marked produced in eu. BoP does not pay for food miles! Boycott M. Left bun and cheese on shelf. Not worth a visit
4 Last eve we went to quiz night. And we got every question right, just unfortunate that we got them right after the answers were read. Never mind, still got well in the top ten! BoPsie had a snack of chips as well. BoP had chicken tikka. It was not as good as one of my own. Lesson learned, there was no rubbing of tums!
3 OK, picture from yesterday
2 Nite BoP is going off to camera clubs. Should be good.
Inn our world, the poor walk miles for food, yet of food comes from miles away?0 -

Quick pleasures for today as am tired!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Sons seem to have had good days at school.
3) Work came and went.
4) Did 20 minutes on Wii fit and 40 lengths at swimming today.
5) Tasty tea of Quorn pies, carrots, peas and corn on the cob.
6) Bigger son and I enjoyed watching First Dates.
Have thought it was Friday evening today and yesterday. Tomorrow will be a shock! :-/0 -
Hello all. Thanks for those pleasures!
Explanation for absence had better be offered, I guess. All is well. I'm fine.
My job is internet based and got very busy in November /December. Which was great, but there wasn't a lot of time or willpower available for relaxing on the Net.
There was Christmas, and then there was New Year, busy with family and friends, pleasures yes, but not a lot of time to reflect.
The awful weather in January kept me in, more than out, and a lot of my OS pleasures are related to being out of doors. Whilst we have more yuck weather to come..
1. Out on the trike on Wednesday, woo-hoo! Pumped up one of the tyres, couldn't get the pump on the valve on the other tyre, need to replace this one, I think as it's always been a PITA, but I usually manage it. The tyre was ok enough for cycling to be easy and smooth, and what a joy not to have a gale in my face pushing me backwards.
2. A meal out with friends, and a happy time spent in their company. It was during the day, so I felt a bit like someone taking time out of school for not working, but I did enjoy it!
3. Getting the last jar of sundried tomatoes (lots of artichokes and peppers) and last but one bottle of lemon juice which was almost out of reach in A!di (lots of lime, no lemon).
4. Sundried tomatoes were to replace those used on tortilla pizzas that I made for lunch with a friend. I've started making these pizzas fairly frequently as they are much quicker and easier than making my own pizzas with the bases made from bread dough. I refuse to buy bases, though I have bought basic pizzas to tart up in the past.
Using a pack of tortillas from A!di, haven't costed it out, precisely for the price difference, but whatever it is, converting plain flour and yeast into half a dozen pizza bases takes up a fair bit of time, and the saving won't be worth it.
It must be minimal anyway, as being pre-baked, the oven doesn't need to go on for the tortilla pizza bases and the toppings only take 7 minutes to cook in my oven.
Friend really loved the pizzas, which we made together. She's a good cook but has lost a lot of her confidence in her ability thanks to black dog visits, so this was useful for her too as she has something new to try.
5. Live music club. Fantastic night on Tuesday and I captured almost all of it on videos on the phone, so can relive it when I get them up on our Club page on FB.
Our beloved soundman at the Club died on January 18th - the collection at his funeral last Friday raised over £1000, to be split between Macmillan and the Great North Air Ambulance. I made a donation online, as I couldn't get to the service. Which was packed out.
He was so special, he was a metalwork teacher who took retirement early a few years back, kind and funny with a dry sense of humour and such a total lynch-pin of live music across the region.
What with him and with other, more high profile losses, I was glad to see January gone.
6. It's February and my snowdrops are out, with the early daffs threatening to flower and in full bud. My snowdrops a bit bedraggled as they got stepped on extensively when my son in law fitted my new trike ramp last autumn, but they are there!
7. Not losing this post by copying it when asked to log in again....Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
