BoP I am not surprised BoPsie is steering clear of you after your "stove top" curry !!
    And relax!

Just tossed off, but on the thirst pancake, really thought my mojo had gone. Took ten wrist actions to turn the pancake. But soon mastered it.

Some pleasures for the last couple of days,

Second interview went well but Lainey not convinced job is for her, little grey cells won't get much exercise.

Cold but sunny days, miles and miles on equine pal in the sunshine and we even managed to sneak past the geese both days.

Heart-shaped face of barn owl flying towards me, hunting in the early evening.

Brushed cotton sheets on the bed, so warm and cosy, perfect for reading into the early hours.

Mr Broad, my dear old thing, what bowling.

    1. Absolutely, Lainey, and marvellous to have Blowers back in fold. Had been wondering.... Another extraordinary TM and TMS, with good and ghastly[always pointed out by rhubarbgeoffrey] on both sides. Great listening.

    2. hwb, my friend, awaits.

    3. Rhubarb tart beneath double cream[rtc low-fat emporium, so allowed]dollops and green tea are alongside, impatient for & to devour them.

    4. Soup of possibilities and ham hock have begun their slo-mo utopian journey.

    5. Rhubarb is also in bed under cardboard blankies, all ready for frosty night, j'espère. Stumbling about in dark earlier, so maybe.... This arises from r4 wireless t'other day, when 'rhubarb confusion due to weather' was seriously discussed and this was the solution.

Vicky - hope you were wearing your cardboard ce soir, if attending Tigers' Roar over Treviso.
Lainey - let's say it was you who thanked & who slowed well back and stayed thus on a narrow back road vaguely Rosemont Stud/Chippenham-ish this arvo. Beautiful day for riding out. Had been beyond there supporting someone's new venture after morning session canvassing elsewhere.

Good evening from a very warm Sunday ....ooft have just checked forecast and to be an even warmer Monday and Tuesday....is it nearly autumn yet?

A few pleasures from past few days. I've had to remind myself that lovely things are going on around me, I'm finding work a bit mentally/ emotionally challenging at the moment but remind myself that I do have a job, I am paid weekly and that January is our busiest month and this madness will pass...I hope!

Train on Friday....free and had just got off at work station when a beautiful heron flew over me, I stood and watched it flap it's big wings very gracefully.

Saturday I drove to work ( with my I hate work head on) then turned a corner and saw 8 beautiful hot air balloons in the sky, 2 cockatoos on a lamppost, 2 lorikeets flitted past my windscreen and I thought I am so lucky to be up this early , with hardly any other traffic on road seeing these things.

Finished work half hour early as we were quiet. Picked up DD2's new specs. As she wanted fancy ones she has paid a third of the cost. Insurance paid some, I said I would pay some more but if she wanted to spend over and above that she had to pay herself.

Today was an extra day off, first Sunday off in a while ( another bone of contention at work, I've asked to come off weekends.....was supposed to be temporary back in May)

I slept until 7am , which is a lie in!

I phoned friend from home and chatted to her daughter for a while.....got all the 8 year old gossip!

Said goodbye to DD2 as she left for train but had to run her to work as train was cancelled . So left DD1 chatting to friend on phone! Stopped at local bakery on way home and bought rolls and then had bacon roll when I got home.

Ironed and watched Casualty at same time.....multi tasking

Dusted and hoovered and washed floors, downstairs looks a bit tidier than it did. Tidied shoe cupboard ( again) and bag filled to go to Salvos. Sorted through some costume jewellery too.

Went to aldi for shopping and DD1 put it all away even though she was just in from work.

May have had a snoozette and then we had some takeway for tea.....one portion fed us all.....and Haggis loves a prawn cracker!

Back to work tomorrow but just for one day ...I can do it!

Right....I'm off to sort out holiday bookings!

Have a wonderful Sunday and wrap up warm in the cold!
  • just a couple more pleasures for yesterday...

    6. friend phoned and asked me to pop in for cuppa and chat so had a nice catch up with her sat round her log burner

    7. managed to resist a takeaway last night and used up some wilted veg in a stir fry

Its raining here this morning so its not so cold and icy. I really should go and get my food shopping today as I have lots to do tomorrow on my non working day. Think I will go to aldi for opening time at 10am and avoid the rush !

Have a good sunday everyone x

Loving mr toad school of driving. Poop poop &
    Lovely boots sparrer
Didn't have you down as a !!!!!! bop
Indeed mr broad did us very proud lainey
Well done frith I think perhaps I need to find an exercise class. The last 7 pounds are proving hard to shift
    1) took dogs up balgay. Crisp and very bright.
    2) went to see Danish girl. I thought it was very good and accurate. Went on my own in case I found it too distressing, but was fine. Didn't agree with the the reviews saying it went too fast. In my experience it goes very fast once the balance is tipped
    3) doing the 366 day challenge, so eschewed staying on for a drink
    4) drawn into CS by Radley umbrella, but looked not in good enough condition to part with my pennies. But did spend £2.49 on a good as new more tea vicar NT book and card for friend's birthday on Friday
    5) home to cook big pot of st delia bolognase and smaller pot of Jamie Oliver aubergine stew for church friends - we normally eat out but am introducing idea we have one week a month at mine to save a few more pennies (dd has very exciting things to save for, just heard I got a place on 100 descend on Venice in September, there is already a waiting list)

  • Hi Everyone,

Dundeedoll, the 100 descend on Venice sounds very exciting, its one of my favourite places I'm sure you'll have a Fab time.

BoP , almost choked on my tea chuckling at the mental image of you pancake tossing.

    5 pleasures today.

    1. A nice lie in.... much needed and now feel full of beans again.

    2. Sat with a pot of tea, watching the birds on the bird feeder.

    3. Not very OS but just about to Skype DD, miss her so much, but going to visit in March (she lives in Paris)

    4. Still need to walk the pooches, a dull damp day here so not looking forward to it as much as usual.

    5. Shall have a wardrobe sort out...its getting cluttered and its so much quicker for me to get ready in a morning when everything is organised.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks

  • DD is all in the wrist action!

5 And again this week Bo.p is basting in the oven a bird. Well soaked in buttered herbs and spices. Is expected to lay rest at four o'clock. Will be carved up. But after tossing off yesterday, today I have really creamed. Creamed leeks and broccoli. In home made sauce. Will be served with home chopped batten carrots. Other muppet foods are available. Will be served with a bit of blackcurrant jam.

4 Today BoP caught up with odd jobs. Fixed bed of BoP, and fixed leak under sink. We had cold snap and it cracks the pipes. Still waiting for this hundred mile long snow front dumping ten inches everywhere. It not here. Just like the lies broadcast at 21:33Z 1982-05-03, it was a Monday. Nowadays my weather apps complete who can create the bleakest warning! It's winter, it gets cold.

3 As for BoP motor, even that squawks now it is cold. Yep, that is why the heater is on.

2 Night BoP is off to town again, last week we got stung on train. This week, it will be different. BoP rules!

Live life like a sundae. With all the crunchy bits on the outside, and the sweetness in your heart.

PM2Skint. The chicken. Come Friday it will have grown fur on the stove as a curry! Stand clear!
