Birthday greetings duly passed on &
This time 5 years ago was the night before my viva vjsmum and an amazing time of it I've had since!
    1) padded out left over Chinese for lunch and supper
    2) computer network went down at lunchtime so took the opportunity to go get my hair cut. One of the benefits of working at a hospital
    3) remembered to take stollen to work. Surplus to requirements at home. Pleased to see by close of play a third already gone
    4) colleague also working late. She was able to drop me off at cathedral (vestry) saving me the bus fare
    5) remembered to take lish bar of very posh chocolate to vestry. Coco's gold frankincense and myrrh. Shared it at 'aocb' (any other chocolate business) and then a lift home from another member who shares my love of bowie

    My pleasures for today.

    1. Invigilating and was told for the afternoon as I was covering a room I would get senior rate of pay.
    2. Lovely pictures of dgs2 and dgs1.
    3. Kitchen still clean - although I had to do it.
    4. More Crochet squares done for dgs2 blanket.
    5. Carrot & coriander soup for lunch.
  • I had the & bug last day, wrote post, but it misfired. Guess I am firing blanks!

5 Chicken buzzarded up into curry, with help from Raffkes. Loads of curry. Mushrooms and veg infested. Rubs Tum. Leftover curry on stove brewing, could be gone this eve, or matured for tomorrow. Like the cheese and real butter, it sees no fridge inn house of BoP. Good for you.

4 Doctors today over ticker and things. Later.

3 Had my proper oats, milled, with extra crunch. Not that nuclear stuff. Saying that, got a coupon from done online food box company. 5 meals for £49. Think not. That is twice BoP food budget. And I get more.

2 Day I learned that the market trader's lad marriage has failed. Again.well mess and BoOsie are coming on thirty years boy. Leave the rocket in the pocket!

Every gun that is fired, hides the hunger that is ignored!

    Not pleasures -

Woken by Aunt's voice wishing & happybirday at silly clocks, clearly not real time again as that was Sunday. Voice just began without warning, no ring of phone, no 'phone light winking and no live line.

Have tried NZ no.s and emails again today, as a belated b'day em arrived from a cousin. Asked that she acknowledges my reply if it reaches her.

Ah well, postcards from parliament will probably reach them faster. Loads more tries this morning finally produced another cousin's no. ringing, so just held on - 4 mins - until answerphone kicked in. Spoke....if it's worked at that end.

Sending loads of love to my so, so, so, beloved Uncle, my last close blood and always my special friend since birth.

My prayers are zipping for him. Was too late to leave them in Church tonight and have been all over place in last few days.

All loaded for Spits, so bed shortly. Hope toxic neighbour moves car from &'s access+driveway and lighting v. soon, also that t.n.'s son/s don't let down tyres, wrench mirror off again overnight. Police told & to ring re: damage and/or slightest provocation, but I just need to be sure I can head for London without revenge damage hold-ups in a few hours.

Frith, have been meaning to say I can't open the interesting sounding family link you left. Hope little niece's birthday is croup-less. That's what caused & to miss a lot of earliest school and triggered urgent move to the sunny province.

May I ask for good thoughts for my beloved Uncle please?
I'd love to spring another surprise visit in May for his 92nd...............

Well, putah's playing up even more now and drop-in of Interview Luck for Lainey and hopes for ditto for pk have disappeared. Phone is flickering and making sporadic burps.

    Bonne nuit.

    Some pleasures for yesterday,

Seeing pictures of good friend dressed up for Plough Monday, cambs village upholding old traditions, good to see.

Family news, niece passed theory test, nephew accepted by Academy of Mighty U's, Amber all the way.

From further afield, youngest hollow legged step-son is travelling through Vietnam, gorgeous pictures winging through.

Home cold and wet from stables, Lainey CBA to cook so picked up fish and chip supper.

HWB and reading into early hours.

& much good thoughts and love on way to beloved uncle, thinking blue force field around car.

    Best wishes to uncle, Ampersand.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) You've got to laugh........ called in to meeting with boss. Am I doing everything (anything?!) right? No, the meeting was purely to tell me my shoes aren't smart enough. There's not much to say to that, really...

    3) Spent lunchtime speaking to new employee who, by chance, worked at my last job. Talking at length about looking after 65,000 objects, writing exhibitions etc (don't remember anyone commenting on my shoes) and thinking back on those days made me feel pretty wretched in comparison to now. :-/

    4) Made a hm pizza for tea.

    5) Brother phoned.

    6) Did half an hour of Wii fit exercise.

  • Belated happy birthday &.
    1. Up early for a meeting with social services over at my dad’s, which is quite a distance from home, but nice to get out, I have been getting a bit of cabin fever recently I do admit.:o
    2. Doesn’t look like the cleaners have been in for a while over there so mopped all the floors and kept a bit of company with him, there is a sense of sadness the last few times we’ve visited, we can’t seem to help him out of it.
    3. Received great news about applications I put in for DF for assistance with care, council tax, and another assistance thing they have all been accepted and I am over the moon,:jsadly the same can’t be said for DF but I can’t win them all.
    4. It was a very long journey home just under 3 hours thanks to M25 3 accidents and our junction was shut so had to go on one and across, it would have been so easy to order in from our great takeaway, but we also had so much to use that I did new pots, broccoli and a pie which had to be slightly healthier and money saved another day longer.:money:
    5. Tapped on the legs from the animals as if to say oi where did you go, and gimme treats…:rotfl::)

Morning all - today is the first day of the rest of my life, and all that. Currently in London (as well as the dog house as I have accidentally picked up OHs keys as well as my own) stupidly early for enrolment onto PhD, though I have a couple of weeks of juggling job and PhD still to go.

Ampersand - many happy returns and all good wishes for uncle
Frith - good excuse for shopping. Though rather rude
Lanier - so badly want to go to Vietnam. But the only time we can go is in the summer atm - which isn't the best time to go. Colleague has just come back

    Pleasures from yesterday.

1 nice walks to /fro work.chilly but I have my lovely new coat
2 work was ok. Received a lovely email from student who said "thank you for making this subject fun". We get lots of complaints and not many compliments so this made my day
3 watched the second episode of Hinterland on iplayer - love it and filmed near ice cream town
4 lovely shepherds pie from freezer for tea, followed by YS strawberries
5 two colleagues returned from hols so enjoyed hearing all about them. One brought sweeties :p

Wish me luck - I am going in....
I wanna be in the room where it happens
